  1. This song? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_9Rz85N8mA
  2. Laugherty won't play. He's hovering around the 100 appearance mark where Rangers will have to pay Burnley another fee as part of his transfer.
  3. Aye, after the first 2 games at the Nou Camp and San Siro.
  4. IIRC, McLeish lived in Chapelhall when he was Motherwell gaffer. It was the big house across the road from the Parish Church. At least that's what I was told...
  5. Totally agree. I'm just being sentimental. And I guess it will allow him to pursue this Media 'career'. I guess a copious amonut of beer after a win does that to a man...
  6. What about Craigan in some form of FM Player/Coach role.
  7. The thing is McCall has said that when one of the back 2 drop out, they do have to fight for their place. We seen it when Hutch got injured and Clancy came in. Hutch wasn't an automatic pick once he was fit (He did come back when Craggs got injured, or was is suspended?) I think Hutch and Page could be a sign of things to come. I think Craggs will get one more season, just for him to take part in our European campaign but I can see a centre half combo of Hutch/Page/Clancy next season.
  8. This was probably mine. 16 years old and my first away without my old man and left to my own devices CARNAGE.
  9. I can see where everyone is coming from. Jenno bossed the centre of the park. Page and Cummins played really well together but I've got to agree with sponsors and give it to our Vice-vice-captain - Stevie Hammell. He was first to every ball, almost every pass found their man. A great performance from a player we will look back on as one of the Motherwell greats. And that goal! Take a boo son! Take a boo!
  10. and Sombreros? PS tenner sent Dee!
  11. Well they are playing Motherwell - Scotland's Second Team (Nearly) They will only be down to see Ojamma...
  12. That's the thing that sticks in my craw. In any other walk of life, you don't pay your bills, you get fucked out your house. You cheat by taking steroids or EPO in cycling or Athletics, your banned from competing and your achievements stripped. Hell, even Juventus and Fiorentina were relegated for breaking the rules in Italy. The fact that the media are fighting to keep cheats in the league in Scotland is disgusting. This falsehood that is peddled on a daily basis that we're nothing without Rangers and that we will simply cease to be without their visits at least once a season is ludicrous. Now I don't know the value in pounds and pence that the Rangers bring. But surely to have the chance to look to the long term and to make Scottish football fairer, the chairmen of all our clubs wouldn't want to pass that up. But the short-termism that exists in our game will rear it's ugly head and the heads of our clubs will probably vote 'Yes'. And for me the baw would be burst. For the league competition to not actually be a competition but a Cabal of buisnesses masquarading as sports clubs would be too much. There's a junior club 5 minutes up the road I'll be watching instead for my football fix. I would seriously have to re-consider whether or not I visit Fir Park if the unthinkable happens... I'm sure this thread may be watched very closely by the powers that be. We may get a feel from the forum members and their opinions of this issue and maybe give an indication of potential cancelled season tickets, especially since renewal time is coming up... Perhaps the first big issue for the Well Society to get their teeth into?
  13. Told my fiance that we couldn't go on our honeymoon on the 19th of May because it's cup final day and we're not out the cup yet. If we do make it, and win it, I don't know what would be the greatest day... 18th May - Wedding 19th May - Motherwell win the Cup
  14. Quite funny that both Wolves fans and West Brom fans sing the same song at each other. West Brom: "Fuck off Wanderers, West Brom!" Wolves: "Fuck off West Brom, We're Wolves!"
  15. Not going to be an easy match but since it's the cup, we won't be affected by suspensions. My starting XI would be the same as SD's above. But we could see a high scoring draw. Aye, Broon's sides always play not to conceed but I think it may have the feel of the game vs Hibs a couple weeks ago. But then again, they are shite going forward. Fuck it. 2-0 Motherwell. Higdon and Ojamma, again! COYW
  16. It's not just success with signings, it's everything. Since McCall has came to the club, we have had a very good year what with the Cup Final, although our league form was absolutely shocking after the split. This season, we have been a revelation and apart from our blip over Christmas, haven't really been outside the top four all season. If we get to Hampden again and/or 2nd in the league, it will show how good a job the boss has done. Look at the the Lemmon. On an impressive run of league form this season and will take the league at a canter thanks to the bother at Rangers. And with his resources, so he fucking should! To say the winner of a 2 horse race where one of the runners fell is the best manager in the SPL this season does Stuart a huge disservice and is a bit of a joke. But I'm sure McCall would say just brush it off and say something like "Ach, but it's the lads on the park that do the business..."
  17. Thoughts? Now we all know that 'Greenteeth' will win it because he had the league handed to him on a plate and went on a huge unbeaten run with a budget in excess of 20x what any other team has. But I think that Stuart McCall has done enough, at this stage of the season, to be in the running for Manager of the Year. To have 3rd place within our grasp and to be fighting for 2nd in the league is amazing given the apprehension at the start of the season Now I know we have a strong backbone to the squad and the real test of his managerial skills will be when he has to rebuild the squad (McLeish springs to mind...) but certainly, he is on course to secure one of our highest points finsh, if not the highest in the SPL. We also are in with a shout of another trip to Hampden (maybe 2...). Aye we hit our usual poor form as we always do at the festive period but how we have bounced back is impressive. I think he's been the best Manager this season. FTOF. I'd give it to McCall.

    Dunfermline

Going to be close this week Andy. Jennings was great in the middle of the park and didn't look to be missing Lasley THAT much. Great game and a good shot that would've worked the keeper, if Higdon wasn't in the road. Ojamma was good in the second half and should take it with a great strike and an assist. BUT... Humphrey made the difference when he came on. McCann will wake up in a cauld sweat thinking about how much Humphrey tore him a new one. Only problem with Humph is he's unpredictable. You don't know whether his first touch will kill the ball or rebound wildly for a corner. But his turn to set up Henrik's goal was brilliant. Humphrey for me. (And Dazzer has just exploded)
  19. Just in. That was a good day at the office from all concerned. We never really seemed to be in much bother from a Dunfermline side who will finish bottom of the league this season (Whether they will be relegated is a different matter ) First half was dire. The only chance we had was a shot straight at the keeper from Higdon. Big Randolph had a great save as well. Second half was a lot better. I felt that in the first half, the Dunfermline defence were fairly comfortable and coped well. But McCall brought on Humphrey and he tore Austin McCann a new one and they really struggled at the back and it showed. Higdon's goal was lucky that the keeper couldn't keep out his shot. Henrik's goal was some strike with some great play from Humph to set it up. One thing today highlighted was the crowd we took through, I'd say about 1,000 who were in fine fettle. Those who say that without Rangers, all the teams will struggle finanicially. We are flying high in the league and the cup and it shows in the crowds we're taking to away matches. I expect the crowd on Sunday will be a good one as well. If (when?) Rangers die and there is better competition for 2nd and maybe the league, I'm sure healthy away crowds will follow. Anyway, I digress. My first trip to EEP was a good one. Those bridies are fucking brilliant! But like I've said in this thread, nothing but good times for the rest of the season. We will finish 2nd. I'm sure of it! Oh, and a special 'Hiya' to Yir Elder. Had a good laugh up the back of the stand with your lot today.
  20. Swithering about going since I'm working till 8 in the morning. But I'm getting right up for it! I'm sure it will be an easy three points. I thought the 1-1 game up at Tannidice was the turning point of our season. Tomorrow is where we kick on and make that push to secure 3rd. With confidence high, 6 points between us and Rangers and 2 games to play against them. I think we're in for a great end to the season... Oh, and Jay, your train day sounds mega!
  21. A good, hard fought 2-1 victory. Us up 2-0 til 60mins, they pull one back and backs to the wall for the next 30 mins. We kick on and storm to 2nd place. COYW
  22. Maybe it's the same as "Paddy McCourt's f****n Army"...
