I'm disappointed to see Brodie Spencer leave early. A near ever present on the team sheet this season . I also didn't realise he was only 19 !

Spencer started off really well but his performances of late have been a bit up and down,I would rather we had kept him though as overall he's been one of our better players upto now.gent looks like he has found his feet and is a threat going forward, hopefully the plan is to sign an attacking fullback for the other side and not go with o'donnell for the rest of the season.

  2. I would have definitely settled for four points between this game and livingston before a ball was kicked, hopefully that's us starting to a corner.we look more of a threat up front but defensively were as bad as ever, its just cheap goal after cheap goal that we concede,we need to start defending properly if we want to have a comfortable second half of the season.hopegully the recruitment drive is well under way and we can see a bit of movement in and out this month.

He's deadwood surplus to requirements and should be following Souare out the door the same applies to McGuire if he comes back. I hope the club is putting in a big effort to get rid of the shite this transfer window to free up some cash to hopefully bring in some better players.

Exactly,we did a good job of getting rid of a lot of dross in the summer and we need the same again this month,we cant have the likes of mcginley and maguire coming back picking up a wage for doing nothing.

Don't think there's much chance if Slattery standing up, falls on his arse about half a dozen times each game!!

Half a dozen, your being generous there grizzly 😂.I said on here the other day that I thought we had turned a corner with slattery at the start of the season where he was putting in some decent performances but at the first sign of trouble he's back to spending the game fouling and falling on his arse.

  5. Giving the horrendous run were on,if we were to then go and lose at home to the team bottom of the league the manager needs to go.this is our biggest game of the season and we need to start getting points on the board,it's time the manager and players stood up and put a performance in.

I don't think his scoring exploits since leaving us will attract any of the top teams in Scotland, especially at 32. That's why I think  Dundee Utd will fancy him. someone within the price range and offer enough over a season to be the difference between them getting up or not. What a scenario that would be us facing Utd in a play off with them having Gallagher , Watt, Moult and KVV. The stuff of nightmares 😆😆😆

You wouldn't put it past dundee utd to chuck more money at trying to get promotion, especially now with raith rovers making a fight of that division.knowing our luck it would gallagher that relegates us in the play offs rather than any of the actual forwards 😂

  7. The hibs manager said a striker is his priority so you would think with van veen been available there's a chance he might end up at hibs, unless aberdeen and hearts were to sell there main strikers I don't think he will end up at either.considering how well he did with us,i think his options will be fairly limited if he wants a move back to scotland in january.

  8. The first few games of this season slattery looked like he was going to be an asset for us,he was in shape and willing to go and press the opposition but at the first sign of trouble he reverted back to type where he's either fouling or falling on his arse at every opportunity.spittal showed last season with the number of assists he had that he offers something but he's one of they players when he's bad,he's really bad and lately that's all we have seen from him, neither will offer anything when the chips are down.at the minute our entire midfield is as soft as it gets, there's not one ounce of creativity or energy to offer anything with or without the ball and when you throw in our striking options and the amount of stupid goals we concede,it will be a minor miracle if we can halt the run that were on.

  9. Losing to livi coupled with the teams around us having games in hand is becoming unthinkable, were in dire straights at the minute and it's clear the manager doesn't have any kind of clue how to get us out of it.the only hope we have is to change manager and hope for a productive january at bringing in some new faces,i get thats a big ask but if continue as we are theres every chance we could go down this season.

  10. At the minute kelly is installing no confidence in anyone and needs to be dropped, crossed balls into our box are a massive weakness that has been sussed by every team were playing, having said that though it's a two way thing, the guys in front of him have been pathetic for weeks, were the only team in the league that seems to be happy to let the ball come into our box unchallenged and then can't defend in a proper manner.

  11. He's got to go,a big reason why were in the mess that were in is down to the dross that we signed over the summer, the next transfer window is going to be huge whoever is in charge and it might just be the thing that keeps us up,allowing him to bring in more guys like bair will surely be the end for us this season.i get there's no guarantees that any new manager will be able to bring in better players but for me it's our only option now, change manager and hopefully we get the desired lift as well as hoping for a productive january,it's a big ask but it's definitely do able.

Absolutely gutless there’s players in that team that have been complicit in getting 3 managers sacked and should be shown the door alongside the manager, our captain amongst them.

Exactly,I said the same a few games ago, there's a pattern now with certain players that go into hiding and show no interest at the first sign of trouble,it's not a coincidence and the sooner some are out the door the better.

  13. Kettlewell has created a lot of the problems due to our recent signings,he's hamstrung is into only being able to play one way,to have no real pace and width in the current game is shocking.he clearly doesn't have the answers, thank him for his efforts last season and let him go before it's too late.

I agree with you on this. Butcher was rotten on Saturday and we badly miss Miller. So, if Davor still isn't good enough to occupy the very position we desperately need to fill, then why the fuck was he signed? I suppose I could ask the same question of several of Kettlewell’s signings.

Davor is becoming another mystery signing a bit like danzaki,I can see him being moved on in January, our midfield is all over the place and yet he can't get a look in.butcher needs to play at centre back,he doesn't have the legs to play in midfield, our lack of pace and ability to get about the park from our midfield on saturday was frightening.kettlwells signings have been all over the place.we needed a left back in the summer,we then sign  souare who's in his 30s who barely played last season due to injury,he gets injured,we then sign gent who again is hardly getting a sniff and instead weve been playing spencer there out of position and sticking with o'donnell who is rotten.kettlewell has mentioned back to basics a few times, maybe he should start with playing guys in there correct positions and give one or two others a chance rather than sticking with guys that are clearly out of form.

There is absolutely no way Kettlewell will get sacked. Reason..we have no money whatsoever to pay him and his assistant off.  The we look at a wage for the new guy and his assistant and it wont be the same that Kettlewell is on. Then we need to offer the new guy something in the transfer window to change things around. We just don't have the cash. Christ we cant afford to put the underground heating on in the middle of winter.

That gets said everytime before we need to sack a manager, that we don't have the money to pay them off and it hasnt happened yet,if the club feel its in our best interest to part ways, the money will be found that's a certainty, either way whoever is in charge will need money in january as its our only hope,we are abysmal where the only functioning part of our team is a loanee.

  16. I would love to see turnbull leave celtic in january and make us a bit of money in the process.from his point of view,he would be crazy to sign a new contract with celtic,he's in and out there team and he's not really any further forward in breaking into the scotland set up.his next move will be vital for his career,he could stay where he is and win a lot more trophies but ability wise he could be playing at a higher level than that.

Let's cut the guy some slack tonight. I know some will say..."aye....that's now 10 without a win" but I doubt anyone expected that result today.   Knowing attitude of some then if we don't win next week there will still be calls for him to go but I am giving him whole of December as I still have belief in him.  Enjoy yer night folks and sportscene highlights

Exactly enjoy the result,it's been a while since the team hasnt ruined our weekend 😂. big result that but both the manager and players have to back that up next week and use today as a real turning point for us.

To @wellfans points I thought we were heading to the land of decency, long term stability at the end of last season.

Getting rid of the complete dross , reducing squad sizes, bringing in youngsters, small squads with better quality. Playing simple football, doing the basics well.

The issues that we have are
    1) clear vision and lack of exco members to run the club
    2) we signed worse than we let go (hard to believe that was even possible)
    3) on the pitch lost our confidence and lost our way in doing basic things well.

We should be a club be edging towards to top half of the league.  Importantly we should have clear vision and signs of being progressive, incrementally improving.

A well run club would indeed be around 6th and every few years have something better.

We may be 80% there but need to address the points mentioned above to stop this 1x per year need to replace a manager, that really isn't solving the other 2 points.

Good post, whatever is happening on the pitch sets the tone for the mood around the whole club, when things are going well, not a lot gets said about behind the scenes issues but it's the opposite when results on the pitch aren't going well.for me our biggest issue at the minute is recruitment, for the last 3 or 4 years there doesn't seem to be any plan,it feels like we're trying to grab anybody that's available and we always seem to end up with an unbalanced squad, that's heavy in numbers in certain areas and light in others.like you said we did some great work over the summer moving players on,to get the likes of lamie, shields and danzaki out the door who were all under contract was brilliant business but to then go and sign the guff that we did has been one step forward two back,to have re-signed obika and signed the likes of bair and wilkinson is a scandalous waste of funds.

Fair enough. If he gets back to basics and stops putting square pegs in round holes, and we still don’t get points but at least show up, I won’t be livid. That’s what I mean about mettle. I do still think the clock is ticking, however.

I agree with that,at the first sign of trouble he has really started to overthink things.if we get back to basics,I think we will be fine but if not I think he will be unemployed fairly soon.

I disagree. It’s a chance for him to show that he has some mettle.

When I say it's a write off for me,I just mean I expect us to get nothing from the game.kettlewell needs to start showing something different and this would be the ideal game to get back to a balanced and thought out approach,if we go with the same as we did against hearts then the scoreline could be scary.

When SK first took over, he took our set up and tactics back to basics and kept it simple. Just what was needed at that time. It took rivals a bit by surprise and worked a treat. However they then began to work out ways to negate us and our form took a nosedive.

Because of the type of player SK built his own squad around in the summer we became a one trick pony and he effectively backed himself into a corner. He's struggled badly to come up with a Plan B. That's where we are now.

That's it in a nutshell, doing the basics are more than enough to be picking up points in our league but for whatever reason we have stopped doing the basics this season, coupled with the terrible recruitment over the summer, kettlewell has backed himself into a corner and it looks like his only way of trying to resolve our problems is by the bizarre team selections that have cropped up over the last few games,I get that when things arent going well,it's part of the managers job to find solutions but surely between kettlewell and frail they can figure out that playing the likes of bair and wilkinson in wide areas and playing full backs on opposite sides is never going to work,it just smacks of desperation.the celtic game is a write off for me,if we can come out of it relatively unscathed and with no injuries or suspensions then great but what will be interesting is the team selection for that game.
