  1. Tanner, ATS, Gorrin, Rose, Donnelly all missing for tomorrows game. Dunne is a doubt....
  2. TBH if Hearts offered me more money to go and watch them over Motherwell and our style of Fitba I probably would go... Don’t blame him in the slightest if he went at the moment as his development is definitely stalling/in reverse playing as right back under Robinson.
  3. Is it not Wednesday?? Quite gutted as I would normally go to this game. However it’s Halloween so have some parental duties to undertake. Also Rangers are playing at home to Killie so traffic will be busy which means I cannot leave it late to go either as will be mobbed. Stupid night to put a full card on. Need three points badly. Hopefully go 4-5-1 or 4-4-2 however we will stick to 3-5-2 with the long ball battling nonsense. Must win I think, for Robbo if not for the club.
  4. I think that’s one of my biggest concerns. He doesn’t look in the slightest like he will change his formation/tactics. Never mentions trying something different but constantly goes on about trying to go back to what we do best.... that shit is old. Teams have figured us out and that’s how a manager should and would earn his corn by adapting the team. However he’s just trying to make us more defensive minded but in the exact same shape and system. In my opinion and I was big fan of his, it’s time for him to change ideas or go. I cant see the change so he has to go. The shit about the two cup finals is done now. This is a new season with new goals and new expectations. He’s had time to show we were improving, from July to October. We are regressing and not improving. However if he had beaten Celtic in one of the finals last year he would have had a job for life. However he didn’t. Decent days out that we didn’t turn up in, tactically or mentally. Robbo might not have a Plan B but Motherwell FC certainly should have and it’s now time to implement it.
  5. Agreed. The depth of our whole team especially at home is causing I believe the complete lack of chances being created.
  6. I don’t even know where to start. Utterly abysmal and devoid of entertainment. Only parts I enjoyed involved David Turnbull but his teammates clearly were not on the same footballing wavelength. No width at all and seriously I wish people would stop saying we play 3-5-2. We don’t we play with wing backs. We are playing a 5-3-2. Cadden and Tait where playing as full backs. Right in line with the back three. Wingbacks should be advanced of the back three and they clearly weren’t. This completely negates any width in our team. Cadden to cross a ball has to run 60-70 yards up the pitch first. We need to go back to two out wide either side, be it 4-4-2, 4-2-3-1 or 4-5-1 . However I don’t think any of our strikers are suited to a lone role. Also although we don’t concede lots a lot of our problems are coming from the sheer inability of Aldred & Hartleys to find a Well player with headers/passes from the back. The amount of time it either goes out the park or to an opposition player. Thus putting us straight back on the defensive. Also let’s be 100% clear and honest, 1 goal in 4 games agains Hamilton, Livingston, St Johnstone and Hearts is utterly disgraceful and completely unacceptable. Not just that but across the 4 games you will be lucky if we have reached double figures on chances and shots on target.
  7. A 22yr old signed from Hartlepool isn’t exactly a youngster in my opinion. The issue for me with Donnelly is that he has offered nothing that Barry Maguire couldnt offer. In fact Maguire in my opinion from viewings last year looks physically bigger & faster. Hes getting it tight as it’s put, because he actually hasn’t been very good and is keeping a real youngster out the team. I would rather Maguire played than bringing in someone who isn’t any better.
  8. Was just thinking the same. Reminds me of how I felt hearing the line ups driving to a game under McCall and we had Reid, Ramsden and Kerr in the line up. Hopefully im proven wrong and we get a win but this looks dull.
  9. How do we think it will line up. Carson Cadden Aldred Hartley Donnelly Tait Rose McHugh Campbell Main Bowman Dont have anything personal against any of the players but that is one uninspiring line up.
  10. That team looks rapid... lots of creativity and excitement expected today. McHugh back to midfield.
  11. What I don’t get about Robinson is his constant chatter about balls and crosses into the box. However he sticks with this formation and style of play that is conducive to not getting decent balls in and playing with a midfield incapable of bursting into the box. Would love us to go back to a 4-4-2. Carson Tait Aldred Hartley ATS Cadden Campbell McHugh Frear Bowman Main Get the ball down, attack with pace and width and get the balls into the box. Johnson for Main could be a call to get in behind the defenders. Let Campbell and McHugh provide extra defensive support and get it out wide quickly when in possession. However we all know that’s not how we will line up. I anticipate. Carson Tait Aldred McHugh Hartley Frear Campbell Rose Cadden Main Bowman
  12. Agreed 100%. Also take into consideration they have changed their manager (twice). Dont hear moans about fixtures or budgets and have ten more points than we do after 7 games. Puts into perspective the pish we have had to listen too and put up with.
  13. I’ve said this multiple times but reading all the comments and descriptions of our woes it’s very reminiscent of what Oldham fans said about their team prior to Robinson leaving them and joining us. Quite scarily so. That’s disconcerting as shows he really isn’t learning. Who do we think he is talking about when he says about being too loyal to players? I think Bigi, Cadds, Tait and a couple of others could be finding themselves dropped.
  14. Let’s not kid ourselves Killie have a couple of decent players but they have a tactically good manager who plays decent stuff. To be beaten by Killie isnt a disgrace but to be so comfortably beaten is just pish.
  15. ‘We have a super bunch of boys in the dressing room’ ’We are confident we can turn this around’ ’We need to earn the right to play football and win our battles’ Sorry just writing Robbos full time interview for him.
  16. Hmmm not sure of this team... looks like this. Carson Aldred McHugh Donnelly Tait Grimshaw Bigi Cadden ATS Bowman Main
  17. Watched Killie last week. They will pump us. Jordan Jones will get the freedom of Rugby Park and run riot or we will use Cadden to man mark him and totally negate any attacking threat Cadds owns.
  18. Agreed. Penalty apart Main couldn’t strike a ball, sclaffed everything. I genuinely believe Johnson in the first half would have scored one of the chances he had. Bigi’s mistake took all the pressure from Hearts and gave them the impetus at a killing time. Every game at the moment we make a mistake and get punished for it.
  19. Seems like every second game we need to make changes to our team quickly to try and get something from the game. Always seems to be a mistake in the starting line up. Fair play to SR he isn’t afraid to change it but it seems to me he gets the starting 11 wrong far to often that he has to change it.
  20. Feared the for worst for today tbh. Can see this being a 3 or 4 nil job as this is a strong Aberdeen team we are up against this afternoon.
  21. Main hasn’t been dropped. Injured and birth of a child. Cadden however has been. Sammon more of a goal threat than Bowman. Personally don’t agree with that. Donnelly into midfield? Makes the resigning of Grimmy and the signing of Gorrin even more of a pointless exercise imo. Waste of at least one wage when McHugh/Campbell/Rose/Maguire can also play there. Sums up our style of football that we have more defensive midfielders at the club than any other position I guess.
