  1. Very well deserved, he’s a model professional who clearly loves playing for his country. Here’s to the next fifty!
  2. Certainly sounds pretty chilled out.
  3. Any victory against the Jambos is welcome, even bounce games. Good to see the two new boys on the score sheet.
  4. I would say so. It’s really now up to Mark to put in the type of performance week in week out we know he is capable of.
  5. Good luck to Mark if indeed the deal to Wigan does go through. I only hope it’s not too late to use any fee to get more players in.
  6. Glad to see he taught you the three Rs.
  7. Sad to hear, R.I.P Russell.
  8. Our set pieces don’t appear to carry the same threat as the opposition. At the Hibs game moments before they prepared to take a late free kick, Flow uttered the imortal words ‘You know what’s coming next’ to the Radio Scotland commentator.
  9. Like it or not, the ref got it spot on. Saunders should have left him and put his faith in Randolph to save it. Randolph was in great form on Saturday and my money would have been on Maloney to have bottled it.
  10. We need to adopt the aggressive gamesmanship style of Don Revie’s Leeds. C’mon Craig and Archie it’s time to let the boys off the leash. With a bit of coaching we can go from Fair Play champs to shirt pullers and leg breakers in no time.
  11. Ultimately I don’t think the players had the inclination. If Gannon was still our manager, ‘frozen out’ players like Lasley and Craigan would probably now be playing 1st Division football. I liked Jim as he was something a little bit different, in saying that I also like Lasley and Craigan. The difference is I didn’t need to work with him on a daily basis. His style was alien to us and Scottish football and we may have missed an opportunity to shake up the way Motherwell approach the game. Only time will tell if Jim Gannon achieves anything in the game or if he stay’s around long enough to see it through. I suppose we will just need to wait for Flow’s autobiography to find out the truth why the Gannon was fired!
  12. I’m not a fan of the long ball game, but equally the playing from the back Gannon style also had it’s problems, as we didn’t have the quality required for that type of game. I’m not sure what the answer is, as today tired or not we were very, very poor. This Celtic team were humped 4-0 by an average Dutch side and it’s sad to say that outwith Rangers no other SPL side could inflict that sort of defeat on them. The SPL table already has a familiar feel to it, with average Celtic and Rangers sides leading the way and the rest playing catch up.
  13. I see Motorpoint are now sponsoring our shorts. Must be something in return for helping us out with a new team minibus.
  14. The whole shirt pulling thing has been terrible of late. Odense were at it constanly and Celtic weren’t that far behind. Maybe it’s time to introduce skin tight Kappa style tops for the players to make it harder for the opposition team to get hold of the shirt.
  15. For me it has to be between Randolph and Craigan. I think I will plump for Craigan.
  16. Answers on a postcard to: Celtic Football Club Celtic Park Glasgow G40 3RE Scotland
  17. Ok it didn’t go in, but I have seen a lot worse penalties than Jamies last night. He struck the ball confidently and a few millimetres the other way it was a certain goal. Blackmans attempt from 4 yards out looked far worse. There is a fine line between winning and losing and when it comes down to the nitty gritty we appear to be experts at the latter.
  18. Is there any highlights available from last nights game? I wouldn’t mind seeing some of the penalty incidents and goal attemps again.
  19. If there was any bullying it didn’t seem to have much effect on Murphy as he actually hit the penalty quite well. A few millimetres the other way and it was a goal as Roy Carrol had no chance.
  20. It was the blatent shirt pulling really annoyed me. Our players need to learn to hit the deck if this happens. Last nights referee might not have given us the decisions but we really need to start asking them the question.
  21. Special mention for Murphy who put in a good shift. He was always a threat going forward. Humphrey also ran himself into the ground. But my choice for last night has to be Saunders.
  22. Pretty much sums it up for me. To be honest we’ve never had a better chance than this to go through to the group stages. Although Celtic showed last night just how difficult it is to achieve this, even with a blank cheque book.
