Any update on the new away kit release? I’m expecting something a bit different from the norm, although, I could be a mile out.

I would echo what Johnstone said Chris is a decent player and should do you a turn. As for Nolan, I think even his more famous sisters were ahead of him in the selection pecking order.

Bizarrely we asked Admiral to produce a repro of one of our least successful shirts rather than the classic 76-78 home. The 78-79 home was so poorly received at the time we reverted back to the earlier design.

Yes the players that wore those Admiral shirts were my heroes in the 70s. Still surreal to me that 30+ years later I was asked to assist in recreating the shirt and the monogram on it.

He messaged me on Twitter a few days before about a Macron kit app he had downloaded . He had been messing about with it and shared one of his designs with me. We had a wee joke about it and I told him that it might not be too far off our new away. I told him that I was predicting that our new away might be a bit more experimental than we are used to. He said he would wait with interest and concern. Actually, the design he created wasn’t too bad and in my opinion would have made a decent away kit.

Designed by the Admiral graphic design team. Not our finest emblem, however, I was tasked with recreating it for our Bukta produced Admiral away replica.

Thankfully top shirt designers disagree and are only too happy to delve into a clubs past kit/badge history. West Bromwich Albion are just one of a few clubs who have used their retro script badges to great effect in recent years.

No, it was the discovery of our 1952-55 white top/black shorts/claret, amber& black socks away that had a domino effect on other away kit finds. Not an earth shattering discovery, however, it might just be our first true floodlight away as it had a shiny ‘silk’ type appearance on the images I have looked at. This material was starting to become popular around the time. Since that find I think the 1919-20 claret yoke away is the stand out, as it’s effectively our first amber dominant top. Prior to this claret was the main shade and amber the secondary colour.

There has been a few more additions to our away kit archive since this thread was started. We are discovering hidden gems all the time and even today we uncovered another oddity that requires a bit more investigation. It’s always a shock when you lose someone in the prime of their life. I didn’t know Graeme personally, however, my thoughts go out to his friends an family. R.I.P.

A few years ago Andy helped out my wife with her psychology dissertation experiment. He came into Glasgow to take part on his day off. He said to her we are a family and we help each other where possible. She has asked me to pass on her condolences.

I think injury hampered his progress, I have no doubt he would have made it at that level.

I know he’s not had his injury problems to seek, however, is Burton Albion the highest level Louis Moult can expect? I’m quite surprised an Aberdeen, Hearts or Hibs didn’t take a punt to secure his services given what he did for us.

Louis Moult has apparently agreed to sign for Burton Albion and will not be returning north of the border.

Moult too Morecambe? Surely with the money made from promotion they will be able to afford his wages?

Mr Robinson is moving to Morecambe F.C. apparently. Good luck to him!
