Good point, I’m not sure if Motherwell have ever been involved in any non football related money earners. John Boyle has had some successful and some not so successful commercial ventures over the years. You would like to think someone with his experience he would have a few potential money earning business ideas up his sleeve. Failing that, we’ll just need to pimp Flow out on his day off.

You are right Lip, this is a major factor when any company chooses to sponsor a football team. Pictures in the media have also a very important part to play. But as Leeann keeps telling us this deal is a little different from the norm, this would indicate for what ever reason, it's not uppermost in the mind of our new sponsor. Because if it was, the replica shirts would not be on sale.

While I agree Humphrey’s crosses are generally poor, Forbes can come over as being a little on the lazy side. His best performance in recent times was in the Aalesund game. He looked sharper and more accurate with his passing and shooting. In my opinion Humphrey just needs to practice, practice, practice on his final delivery, as his pace will always be a threat. There is nothing that worries a defence more that a pacey player running at them with the ball. My fear is that if he ever masters the art of crossing he won’t be hanging around Fir Park for long.

If the suggestion that we won’t be making any money from this ‘sponsorship’ deal is true, we will be one of the few professional teams (if any) who do this. Maybe we have upped our game in our other commercial ventures to insure there is no need for our prime advertising space to be sold in this way. I would be surprised if this was true, as most clubs would sell the space on a blade of grass if money was available. Personally I think the selling of sponsorless shirts has been given the go ahead, not just so fans can get their hands on the shirts early but the sponsor or rumoured charity may have been promised a percentage of any profit.

Speak to our Chairman, I’m sure he has experience in these matters.

It seems clear that this is not a ‘normal’ type of sponsorship deal. If it was, this would not have been allowed to happen. I’m sure Leeann metioned somewhere that the deal was going to be a little different. Only time will tell if different means more for us and them.
