  1. I listed 10 players Robinson signed in the summer. You want rid of 90 percent of then. That's nine players. Would you like to name the one you would keep or the nine shite players you want rid of. Mad mad post.
  2. Carroll, Ilic, Gallagher, Polworth, Hylton, Long, Seedorf, O'Hara, Mazinga and Mugabe were signed in summer. All apart from Ilic, Mazinga and Mugabe have made a considerable contribution to us being third in the league and safely in the top six. Polworth Gallagher and Long have been outstanding. Mazinga and Seedorf are punts that may or may not yet come good. I don't know what Robinson has to do to please everyone. He had a massive rebuilding job and has done great.
  3. At the start of the season how many of us thought we would be in the top six? Well done to the manager and the players. Next up Aberdeen. So let's push on now
  4. I watched that last night willing Hearts to win for obvious reasons. And like you I was wanting Naismith booked for his bad tackle because that would have put him out of their next game which is against us.
  5. Saw a top lawyer being interviewed about the female presenter who committed suicide before her court appearance. Her partner did not want to pursue either but it is the prosecutors decision now to go ahead with these cases as in the past the victim was often forced by the abuser to withdraw the allegation.
  6. Going by the comments of St Johnston's fans on the match thread on P&B it might be a while before Watt is fit. They could non believe how big he was.
  7. I was in Nancy and as you say it was a great experience. But it was new as we hadn't qualified for ages. I agree it lost its sparkle. I am a that bit older now and probably wouldn't travel away. It may well be exciting for younger fans and those who were too young in those days.
  8. I am not too excited about qualifying for Europe. Starting in mid July is not ideal. Our players will get a very short break and tiredness can set in early in the season. With so many out of contract in the summer we might struggle to put a decent team on the park so early in the window. Then there's the possibility of getting a team in the middle of their season and getting pumped. We all remember Llanelli a few years ago.
  9. Might be different from everyone on here but I am not too bothered about tonight even though I loathe them and once the game starts I will be wanting us to do them. But for me Saturday is far more important. I want all our key players fit and available for St Mirren. If anyone is feeling tired or jaded I would rest them. The last thing we need is a couple of injuries and or a sending off that would weaken us for the weekend.
  10. Fairly routine win. Expected them to offer more and the start of the second half was what I expected from them from the off. We were a class above them. Gallagher strolled it. Alan Campbell was MOM for me. Hartley was their best attacker. Hopefully Long will sign a new deal but perversely that performance will make it more unlikely with clubs being alerted to him. Hopefully a favourable draw tomorrow. And by the way I hate Billy Dodds. Biased commentary throughout. Get it up you Billy.
  11. At the AGM Robinson was very candid about players' attitude. He said that their loyalty was to themselves. Every player was striving to improve and perform, to further their own career and as a consequence MFC benefitted but all players were thinking of their own career. As fans we have to remember that football is their job. James Scott will do what he thinks is best for him. No doubt he will have people advising him and for his sake I hope he makes the correct decision.
  12. No Long, Cole or Donnelly. Tait in for Grimshaw whose on the bench with Sloth. Front three of Seedorf Scott and Hylton.
  13. Considering that Livingstone's main tactic was to launch high balls into our box the main contenders for MOM should come from Gillespie, Hartley and Gallagher. Went for Gallagher as he strolled through the game.
  14. Just had shiver listening to Off the Ball second show on Saturday. Alan Preston said that his cousin John Hughes should have left Raith Rovers before he did. He was approached by Motherwell to replace Mark McGhee but refused to speak to us out of loyalty to Raith. Phew!
  15. I'll have a stab at the names in that picture. Back Jumbo Muir, Whiteford, Wark, Donnelly, McCloy, McCallum, John Murray Front Howitt, Jimmy Wilson, McInally, Bobby Campbell, Deans, Goldthorpe, Humphries. Although my dad took me to games from the late fifties, when I was very young, this era around 1968/69 was when I became serious supporter old enough to go with my pals.
  16. In his presser Robinson talks about Dunne, Mugabe and Mazinga and how the last two still need minutes after the reserve game in the week. No mention of Casper Sloth who scored in the game. Is he this seasons Ross McCormack?
  17. Try typing motherwell 3 rangers 5 into you tube and you will get a rangers TV video of the game with most of the crowd trouble edited out.
  18. I have hated that horrible horrible football club ever since. When they died they should have been left to rot. The SFA panders to them at every turn. No action taken against them for that incident. Today they still bring their bigotry to all area of Scotland yet it is UEFA who sanction them. And their support thinks the SFA is against them.
  19. Did we line up 352 or was Dunne at left back?
  20. Spot on. Hylton stood and watched as the right back ran up the park and scored. Seedorf and Hylton look way out of their depth. Our full backs will look bad if they get no help from those in front of them. I said before that giving Robinson a new contract was premature and we should wait and see how the new signings worked out. Seedorf, Hylton, Ilic, Cole and Long look way off the standard required. Polworth looks a good player but disappears for long spells. Only Gallagher looks fit for purpose and who the hell is Casper Sloth. Is he actually a slow moving Ghost? What about our shys. Every one went back the way so that Dunne and Gallagher could pass it to each other then hoof it up the park. Scott is not yet ready. He had one great piece of skill but was bullied by Berra. Six months loan and maybe he will come back in January and save our season. I am normally a happy clapper but have rarely been as scunnered and worried as I was after last night.
  21. I worry that Robinson has gone too far away from the physicality that he always emphasised in our two cup finals season. We were OK against the teams we played in the League Cup but yesterday showed the lack of strength in the midfieId. I do not see anyone in our squad that can be as physical as Bowman, Rose, McHugh or Gorrin. I don't see Donnelly, Polworth, Campbell, Sloth or Semple bullying other midfielders. Robinson's mantra has always been you need to win the battle and earn the right to play. It remains to be seen if we have the players equipped t do this.
  22. Football is an entertainment business. As someone who is thinking of going tomorrow but due to personal circumstances it will be a decision made around 2pm having read the shenanigans on here about queuing for a ticket then queuing again at the turnstile I think I will give it a miss. How many others are put off by this and how many other entertainment enterprises make it difficult for paying customers?
  23. While you have to take in the standard of the opposition that was a very good performance. Downside was a couple of slack moments at the back. Seedorf Hylton and Scott will get the headlines but I thought Gallagher was outstanding and on his brief appearance Ilic could prove to be the best signing of the lot. If James Scott continues to develop he could surpass the transfer fee we are expecting for DT. Tall athletic strikers with great awareness and touch are worth a fortune. I hope he fulfils his undoubted potential.
  24. I am a big fan of Robinson and think he has done a great job. But I think this is a bit premature. I would have preferred to wait until October or November. By then we will know if the bulk of the new signings can cut it. If they don't we will be in trouble and he will be under pressure and if he has to go him and Lasley will be due a load of compensation.
  25. A three year deal looks very sensible from the clubs point of view. It takes him to 22 when the compensation clauses will kick in if he happens to go out of contract. Let's hope he signs it.
