  1. Only player in their team I'd consider having is Mihajdks or whatever his name is. Would hate to see Imrie in our shirt. Foran Wouldn't really fit into our team now, we really need an actual let winger on that side now. Kerr has proven yet again he is a waste of a jersey and seems to be even less interested now than before. Don't really think anyone else in their team is worth mentioning.
  2. Read on the BBC that our on loan keeper Krysiak is bei released by Birmingham when his loan deal expires. Perhaps if Buzz goes a deal has been agreed to sign him permanently. Two other out of contract players mentioned were Aberdeen's Jamie Smith and Watford's Steve Kabba. Smith has been mentioned before and if we could keep him fit would be a good signing. Kabba seemed to do well at Sheffield United and moved to Watford for £1 million plus, I think. Probably like most Championship players we couldn't afford his wages, and I might be wrong here but I think he has had some injury problems too. Again if he could be kept fit he could fill one of the gaps in our forward line.
  3. Yeah, I think he's earned it. He was in great form at the end of last season at right back too. Hopefully the big man has used up all his bad luck with injuries and wont have to sit out again for weeks or months at a time after working his way back into the side.
  4. I noticed a few papers carrying the story about McLean being out of contract in the summer. In one McGhee said he has asked to be given a shot at centre half to prove his worth. In one of them McLean also said he hadn't talked about a new deal yet. Given that McGhee said that he has already talked to the players he wanted to keep on, does this suggest that McLean could be let go in the summer? Would be harsh on him I'd say.
  5. Don't know if it's much help, but when I was in this situation a few years ago all I needed was a letter from the Deputy Head Teacher at the school stating I was staying on. Take it in when your renewing and you should get the discount. Worked no problem for me.
  6. Agreed. Bit of a long winded way to get to that. I don't doubt he'll get his move, just a bit earl for him. And like you say, yo can't help but feel we've been done over with regards to transfer fee's yet again.
  7. Beattie has a proven record in the Premiership already with Southampton. As for Chopra, he had 1 good season i the Championship as well, but he was only wortthat amount because Roy Keane was throwing about silly money on players at the time. He may well go for £5 million plus in the future, but he doesn't have enough experience at that level so far. A fair whack of his goals have been penalties and most of the hype surrounding him has come form the press rather than out of Cardiff. Teams would hold off until at least January I'd think to see how he performs for the first half of the season.
  8. He'll never go for £5 million this summer.
  9. I think that was it. A supply of malt and the virgins. No wages required.
  10. I was talking about that the other day. What was the story again? Something like 3 virgins and a supply of vodka or something.
  11. Always thought during his time at Airdrie and St Johnstone that he would get his shot in the SPL. Even during his time at Airdrie I think he was thought of more highly tha Alan Gow. Might still fulfill his early potential, though he had an interview earlier in the season where he admitted that his own attitude towards the game wasn't right and was why he hadn't taken that step up.
  12. Don't really care. Just mentioned it seen as the subject had been brought up already.
  13. Good news, perhaps will give everyone a bit of a lift for the rest of the season. Also good to hear that he is already speaking to players for mext season. I agree with you there Melvin. I have no doubts that Strachan will leave in the summer. My mate is a ST holder at Parkhead, and he and a few of the guys that sit next to him heard a month or so back that they had approached a Bosnian manager to take over.
  14. Hoping I can make it down to this. Hopefully I'll know for sure tonight. If not I'll give some money to the cause anyway, although lack of a paypal account may b a problem.
  15. I doubt you'll find many that will class Clarkson as a 'Super-Duper World Beater' but the one thing you get with Clarky is nothing less than 100% every week. You know when Clarky is playing you know he is going to run his arse into the ground every week for the cause, tracking back putting in tackles as well as trying to set up attacks. And even though things might not come off for him every week he doesn't stop trying. He never gives defenders a minutes peace and that 'nuisance factor' can be invaluble at times.
  16. I think the main problem Hughes has faced this season, other than the reports of playing not totally fit, is that we have still not managed to properly replace O'Donnell. With both of them in the midfield last season was when Hughes and the team were at their best. He needs someone else in there with him with a 'good football brain' who is one step ahead and can help with Hughes to create some space and get things going. If we have the option I'd still keep him. With Hughes and someone else like that in the middle with Fitzpatrick/Lasely/Klimpl or AN Other battling away along side them, that could see us go some way towards another season like last years'.
  17. Errr...Yes I do, but why have it in the name of the thread when he says that's not what he means. Why not call it 'Is McGhee Worth The Money' or something along those lines.
  18. Why have it as the header of your topic then?
  19. Have we not played Hamilton at home twice this season like?
  20. Definitely agree that this result means that Hughes, Smith and Klimpl wont be back next season, but what makes everyone else so sure McGhee wont be here. Where will he go? If this season had been the same as last season I reckon he would have been a stick on for the Celtic job in the summer. Our performance this season has put paid to that, and I doubt there will be many teams battering down the door for him in the summer. EDIT: Though I would still like to see McGhee with us next year. I still think we could do a lot worse, and probably not much better.
  21. Was Bob not amongst the subs today?
  22. Might as well just open the gates and let people in. We still wouldn't get anything like a half decent crowd now.
