  1. Marc Fitzpatrick, Stuart Carswell, Jack Leitch - three names from recent years who carried the mantle - "our future prospect" - never to be fulfilled. In contrast, I think Alan Campbell just might be the real deal.
  2. With or without Heneghan, we still need added cover for defence. SR and Flow have both alluded to at least one more signing.
  3. I take it I was one of this group in the Cooper? As Robinson said post match - the team no longer picks itself. Newell and Petravicius available as well. If we keep Moult and Cadden, and sign someone who can cover right and centre back, then we have a squad to feel optimistic about.
  4. Anyone else heard anything on Blyth. I'd hate to judge him on just one negative post here. He looks a big lad. The last forward we signed with his build took a while to fit in - and then went on to be top scorer in the SPL.

    Loan Signings

Mark Gower from Spurs was a fair loan deal from Spurs. But Jutkiewicz, for that goal, will probably top the charts for most fans. Was Straker a signing or loan deal? He should top a different chart.
  6. Also, to be fair to Lucas, he needs to secure his future. If he isn't signed today, he becomes an unemployed, free agent. So far as Johnston is concerned - I take it his agent has a club fixed up. The buying club are looking to get him on a lower fee with the inducement of a bigger signing on fee for the player.
  7. Kallum Higginbotham has had his contract paid up by Killie and is now a free agent.
  8. Sutton available too. Sign twice aye .... but a third?
  9. Simon Lappin released by St J. He was useful a few years ago but maybe too old to be of use to us now. I agree with previous posts QP's Brown is not someone to keep an eye on - offer him a deal and develop him.
  10. Darren Smith has banged in a few goals for Stilrling but I don't see him returning to Fir Park anytime soon either.
  11. Shagged too many burds - allegedly!
  12. Paul Dixon, Ryan Dow and Edward Ofere are three players I think could strengthen the Motherwell squad. It's hard to judge individual players on recent performance when they have played in what has obviously been a negative environment. These three have performed well in the past - in Dow's case, was he not a promising youngster. Dixon is potentially a ready made replacement for Hammell. Ofere is a big target man in the mould of Higdon and Sutton.
  13. How about giving Thomas and Campbell a run out?
  14. Watt made his 1st team debut at LB. But yes, he is a CB or RB. Chalmers has demonstrated this season he is lower league class
  15. With £100k the difference between 4th and 5th, we shouldn't look to Saturday as a meaningless fixture. I suspect Chalmers will play LB but I'd like to see Watt have a go.
  16. £100k per place. In today's world, that's a lot to our finances.
  17. The scene is perfect to build a safe gap between us and those beneath us. If we take the game to Accies - the way we did against Partick - we can show we are a far better side than them. Please Motherwell - just for once - stand up and don't let us down.
  18. Skippy always looked to take the game to the opposition and put them on the backfoot.
  19. Best performance from Skippy in a long while. Playing up front with Johnston and Moult to support him helped enormously. I also though shifting Johnston in from the left worked. He's been far too predictable as a winger. Still felt my bum squeaking 2 goals up with 5 minutes to go.
  20. If we are reverting to a back 4 today, the player to drop out should be Johnston. He's been underperforming. Moult's work rate should avoid Skippy being isolated up front. Alternatively, Faddy could offer more accurate crosses and corners - glaringly missing from recent games. Whatever McGhee goes for - please don't revert to the line up against Killie. I'm still getting over last Saturday.
  21. Good shout. I'd also be tempted to pull McDonald back into midfield and have Moult and Fletcher attack Utd's shaky defence.
  22. Josh Law now divides fans' opinions. IMO I think he is one of main culprits for our poor run of form. His defensive positioning, tackling, distribution and crossing contribute to us continually being punished on the right flank and wasted attacking opportunities in attack. I don't know what issues McGhee has with Watt - is he not quite ready yet? - but he surely can't be behind quality in Law. On similar subject - what does Laing have to do to overtake Kennedy and McManus?
  23. Joachim Löw rumoured to be checking out his nationality and previous caps for Antigua. An obvious natural replacement for Lamn.
  24. Regardless of management pride and favourites, I sat through the whole game at Tynecastle and watched Hammell look completely lost at RB and Chalmers totally out his depth at LB. This is not just a personal opinion - its a fact! Unless there's an attitude issue, Watt, Laing or Kennedy must come into the reckoning today.
