  1. Right CMWellfan, Not quite sure why you feel that steelmenonline is a product which needs selling, why you insist on mentioning you are out of the country/on holiday for months at a time, why you present yourself as some sort of business guru, whether it be taxi magnate or e-commerce king... on every thread that is posted? What I do know is you always take the confrontational route, get people's back up and make a bit of a muppet of yourself. You remind me of Donald Trump, but without the cash, the profile or glamorous wives.
  2. Mr Rooney has served me enough pints... I never even knew he managed a side.
  3. CMWellfan is our Donald Trump. Seemingly loaded with random outbursts of completely inflammatory statements.
  4. I really thought Thomas would be the next Jamie Murphy.
  5. Hogmanay games. Mental. Old firm Hogmanay game. Insanity.
  6. Faddy and Hammell have been plagued by injuries last season and were out most of pre-season, so they are not in peak condition. McDonald has not looked fit for the last twelve months. Moult was eager to play on Saturday and played for an hour. Did you really want him dropped after scoring four in the previous game? It is worth noting that the first three players are all in the very last years of their careers and with the greatest will in the world, you can't expect them to be the physical specimens they were a decade ago. I'll give you Clay, seems to be off the pace regardless of the run of games he's had.
  7. Don't quite know where you are getting the 'unfit players being played' from. Granted we don't have a direct left wing replacement for Johnson, but I do think we can play McFadden or Thomas in there to give width. If fit, I'd give Chalmers a role in a left defensive midfield position in front of Hammell. Patterson will give most teams problems on their left side. He's a talented player.
  8. Got to agree with the posts of Google and Kmcalpin. In a summer where I think every fan was concerned at our central midfield area, even before Pearson left, we signed three players. Granted McHugh has been injured, but Clay has struggled to get a hold in games and we've seen nothing of Lucas. There isn't any balance and a lack if cohesion, with us utterly reliant on an aging Lasley and Cadden in his second full season at this level. With the 4-3-3 formation of yesterday with the personnel deployed, we had no width, particularly with McDonald stranded on the left, without the full backs pushing up. I like Tait, but he seems defensively lacking and I think we can all question whether this maybe a season too far for Hammell. Doesn't seem the same player after the injury plagued last season. Regardless of what formation we play, our defense will be exposed at points, either by lack of midfield protection, full backs being caught too far up the pitch, individual errors and we've already been witness to some goalkeeping calamities. McMannus losing Crawford last week at the second goal and Thistle breezing through against Samson three times yesterday illustrate that. Hopefully Bellic, Thomas or McFadden may give us some balance on the left or Bowman will eventually prosper there.
  9. Taken a pounding over my Thomas comment, but I'd like to see him and McLean given a run out. We weren't coasting in the game, but look at McMannus at the second Hamilton goal. 'Probably for the game thread, but I hope to see game time before Christmas for Thomas, McLean, Campbell maybe and hopefully Mackin. Maybe Blyth will become our Lukaku though...
  10. The U16 is at Heriot Watt, Oriam, Edinburgh on 27 September at 1930. Anyone fancy going?
  11. Ainsworth is out of contract in June and most probably off, given that I doubt we could match his current wages. I thought Saturday was the perfect game to give Thomas a run out when we were leading.
  12. If Moult is on fire up until Christmas I'm sure a Championship club struggling to score goals will come calling. If Coyle doesn't get sacked first, I could see him bidding for Patterson at Hearts and Moult.
  13. Anyone going to the U16 match against France in Edinburgh?
  14. Two for one for kids. Junior season ticket holders can bring two friends on select games. Simple.
  15. Hendry came highly recommended, but spent his time back in Glasgow getting hammered at the snooker club on a daily basis. He was mates with a crowd of boys I knew back then and just wasted any talent he had. He missed a sitter against Rangers at Ibrox I remember clearly, heading over from two yards out. McLeish knew Roddie from Aberdeen and thought he was a decent prospect. We did pay way over the odds for these two players and went on to buy Falconer at £200,000 too.
  16. Thomas was a player that Barraclough questioned the attitude and application of, if I remember.
  17. Am I right in saying that Steelboy doesn't attend games, a bit like our resident business guru who is on holiday until Christmas before joining filming for Dragons Den in the new year?
  18. Johnson out. Bowman in. Blyth doesn't enter that equation.
