  1. I'm pretty sure they couldn't get a work permit for him due to his age (?)
  2. My comments on Smith are from first hand experience. If he got a contract with Motherwell then i'm pretty sure plenty of folk I played with could have got one. In saying that I have a relative who is apparently shite but has some how managed to play with West Ham, St.Johnstone and Liverpool in that order.
  3. How can anyone make a case for Darren Smith. He's just not SPL standard. Go on, disagree.
  4. After 5 minutes he passed the ball to McBride to have a free shot... but no, he recovered and made a brilliant saving tackle like a defender would. I don't feel his performances have been drastically worse, more over when he's compensating for a slowing Craigan.
  5. 4 yards? haha It was easily at the penalty spot. Also, He couldn't have done anymore than he did. Defender on the line and a defender charging at his back. I blame Porter for his inept finish previous to that.
  6. Smith, had a good save or two, thats about all he had too do. Hammell, man of the match till he had to go off. Disgraceful elbow from Barr, however, from where i was sitting it looked more like he fell into hammell more than anything. Quinn, First half was direct contrast to the second. Had little to defend and got well up the park. His brilliant over the top pass for Porter should have been sunk and should Fitzy have done with the re-bound. Second half, Dismal. Reynolds, Had some shakey moments but the ammount of covering he had to do for Craigan was shocking. Cragian, Controlled the defence well and nearly ko'd himself by nutting a Falkirk player. Klimpl, Solid yet again. As deft a touch you'll see when it was needed and also took the game by the scruff of the neck when it got a bit hairy. If it wasn't for his yellow I think one of their players would have been stretchered off. Hughes, shite. the occasional good touch but the ammount of times he let the ball run by him was unreal. Fitzpatrick, did all the uncredited stuff. Dug deep at times and was often in good positions but not used. Should have bagged the first goal at the re-bound form Porters effort. O'Brien, My Motm. His crossing begged to get a man on the end of them but it was hardly the case. Thought his shot at the end was destined to go in. Only flaw was trying too hard at times. Clarkson, Solid display and a magnificent headed goal. His inabillity to utilise his pace really annoys me. Porter, Possibly the best forward i've seen in a Motherwell shirt. Did all that was asked of him but he really should have got a goal. Subs Lasley, Done well when he came on, fought for the ball alongside klimpl. Think he went out to show that he should have started... I think Hughes will be dropped next week. Murphy, had no time to do anything. Also, All credit to the Falkirk goal. Outstanding strike.
  7. Still think he could be a top class player. He reminds me or Bergkamp, without the finesse.
  8. I agree we should have stuck to that Canary Yellow colour of 76' I get what your saying, Think the 'amber' in todays kits is much better but the 'claret' is just a few shades too dark.
  9. I don't read P&B at all, but arn't St. Mirren the best team in the world? I'd stick my neck out by saying Smith is the most consistent shot stopper I have seen. Has the odd howler at a cross and on occassion can the slow to react to low headers. Other than that he is the 3rd best keeper I have seen, When you take into account the defense in front of him. Nothing will top Buffon or Sorensen though. Euro 2004, Italy vs Denmark. The 2 best goalkeeping display's I have seen. If we do lose him then I would see us going for a lower league keeper. Gallagher maybe?
  10. Buzz is certainly Championship standard. Watchign the Championship, even the Premiership, How often does the keeper actually need to leave his line? And if that was in doubt Buzz has shown how competent has has became at dealing with that part of his game. If we manage to keep him then we've done a turn and I would expect him to be pushing into the Scotland squad again before too long.
  11. Dunno about anyone else but I feel that we have the 3rd, maybe 4th, best keeper in the league. If he does choose to extend his contract then I'm more than happy to have someone who has played 73 first team games for an SPL club as his understudy.
  12. Surely that makes sense financially, More teams = more fans.
  13. The Motherwell Rollercoaster continues.
  14. Its worthwhile all right, But while its a thankless task there doesn't seem to be anyone coming to the trust with their problems.
  15. Clearly not. The point in the trust is for people to come forward to them with issues. If the trust itself is scouring this site and others to find problems then that is the trust going out of its way to find the complaints as well as just dealing with them.
  16. The problem isn't on the part of the trust. Just that 9/10 people won't inform the trust of anything.
  17. Well said. If O'Brien hadn't dragged the defender off of Hughes for the first goal he would have never got the space to turn and deliver the cross.
  18. He's is obviously there to bloster our attack. I doubt most of us would have counted Murphy or DL Smith as coming in and doing a job up front for us at the start of the season. Sutton has contributed some vital goals and McGhee will know when and how to use him.
  19. The 2 through balls that clarky couldn't get on the end of, and his chest down and volley. theres at least three I can remember.
  20. I have to disagree. O'Brien was involved in most of our chances last night in one way or another. I also feel that he won the ball back on many occasions which few others in the team seemed capable of doing.
  21. I can honestly say I never criticised O'Brien. However, I openly criticised McGhee for not giving him a fair chance. When you've only got ten minutes to impress you suffer from the 'trying too hard' syndrome. O'Brien has shown that he has the bit of flair that we require. Also, doesn'y look as much a jakey now.
