  1. +1 The SPL appointed an independent assessor to oversee the pitch refurbishment and he/she was satisfied that we took the correct course of action. Is the SPL therefore going to investigate itself? Too many armchair groundsmen on here. Given our pitch is the newest in the SPL and we had the worst winter for perhaps 25/30 years is it a surprise? Other pitches are very poor although not as bad as ours. So what does that tell you? Media pressure from Jim Traynor and Chic Young. I would expect the SPL to give us a clean bill of health. If it doesn't, questions need to be asked of the SPL and independent assessor.
  2. Agreed. Nae thought of helping MFC there.
  3. Should be Finlay. Even with our pitch the game was far better last night with some decent footie being played. Lets hope Hamilton play more open football on Saturday and don'tt ry to kill the game.
  4. Its not as simple or as straightforward as that. Much of the credit for us playing poorly last Saturday is due to Accies. Much of their game plan focused on stopping us from playing and to a large extent they succeeded. Slowing the game down, man marking, spoiling tactics, bottling up midfield. They really only changed tactics when the game was going away from them. Anyone who thinks that Accies came to ours to play football and entertain the punters is sadly mistaken.
  5. Why? I booed him because he was trying to inflict damage on my team and I can't have that. When a player leaves FP he's fair game, providing barracking is not OTT. He tried to score a goal and deprive my team of 2 points, or 3 if he could managed that. Did he take to the park thinking "I used to play for the Well and I'm not going to try" - I don't think so. I wouldn't expect him to. Whats more he'll be booed next week as well if he tries to harm the Well.
  6. Let us know when you're coming over and I'm sure a few of the regulars will look after you. Maybe the club could do something as well?
  7. Yes, a few folk are indeed interested. At least we have no home game scheduled for Saturday. these things happen unfortunately.
  8. I agree with your view but see Joe's response to my earlier post. Give him a chance first to implement change. You're right in that the MST must be seen to be impartial which it hasn't been in the past.
  9. No problem with communication through the Trust mate, but the MST has to be even handed. By that I mean it should post on Fir Park Corner. Trust shouldn't be seen to favour one site over another. It should represent all its members.
  10. Good move by the club. Leann's doing a good job and proves MFC doesn't grind to a halt when JB is away.
  11. Good post Steve. Seems as though we're turning the clock back. Add to that Keith Lasley coming back in and I'm worried about the future. These guys have had their day. If thats not bad enough Michael Fraser is waiting in the wings should John Ruddy move back south.
  12. Good post Leeann. An offensive accusation justifies a robust defence. Maybe I'm completely wrong but I doubt if Mr/Ms Nijholt91 would like to be referred to as an "F ing idiot" in public. No doubt too the first time they are invited to a Christmas lunch during work hours they will decline. Ok a mistake may have been made but I doubt if there are many members of this site who have NEVER made a mistake. The office staff do a good job and deserve a Christmas lunch.
  13. Congratulations to the girls and the back room team. Hopefully the club will recognise these achievements on the Official website - and what about some recognition next Saturday at the Sheepies game?
  14. Well done to all concerned, Angie. Has Flow not come good with his promise to give you a page on the Official website yet? If not chase him up.
  15. The East Stand took a dislike to Ian Black today and I'm not surprised. A proper prat. Kicking balls away at free kicks, putting himself about. Whatever he did to upset the East Stand they went apes**t. He'll no be on their Christmas Card list thats for sure.
  16. Just about but not quite. Overall a decent performance but again we showed a lack of cutting edge up front. Very few efforts on target. Ref was appalling - why was John Sutton booked? Never seen so much jersey pulling (from the Jammy Tarts) in my life. 7 minutes added on!!! Defence decent but we were a bombscare on the right, Killer especially. Saunders, Reynolds and Hutchison all shone. At times though, in the second half there was too big a gap being left between the strikers/attacking midfielders and the defence and that allowed the Jambos to run at goal. What about the suicidal defending against 10 men? That was something else. Still a good 3 points ansd we've played worse.
  17. Seconded. From the POD Stand it looked like a Jambo flag and quite a few punters were puzzled as to why it was allowed in a home stand.
  18. So where have all the players gone? Anyways good luck!
  19. Mark Reynolds is a more complete player and I'd pick him every time over Steve Hammell. Hammy's defending lets him down and hes cost just too many goals.
  20. If the expert advice is to leave the pitch alone for the time being then going against that would be downright negligent and would no doubt upset the SPL. To those who advocate playing on it next week I'd say that you can't complain later in the season when its not for purpose. A no brainer.
  21. Any idea how season ticket sales are going since JG took over at the helm?
  22. Yes, sad that these things happen but the new manager and his team have a good record of bringing young players through and giving them their chance. Look forward not back.
  23. All very well but say Celtic or Hibs or Plymouth for that matter tell them that their future is elsewhere? Hopefully the lads and their cohorts will remain level headed and stay with us for another 2/3 years to establish themselves in the first team. They will of course need to prove themselves over a season not just 4 games.
  24. Yes of course thats the case. If it wasn't Paul Slane wouldn't be at FP just now. Teams like the OF, Aberdeen and Hibs have a habit of nicking young talent and claiming it as their own. The problem is that some young lads eg Ross MacCormack don't have a particularly good season and on the basis of that are either not offered a new deal or not offered an extension. Their next season is far better and off they go for a pittance. The converse of that is that offer almost all young lads good deals irrespective of how they're playing, inflating the wage bill in the process, knowing that many won't make it and cash is going down the drain.
