  1. Not ideal I agree but it happens. Nothing worse than queuing up, sometimes for ages, just for someone to ring up and get served before you. Travel agents/car showrooms/insurance brokers are a prime example of this. That said, it could be that the caller couldn't make it in person maybe living too far away. The club staff are damned if they do and damned if they don't.
  2. Couldn't agree more mate. Some folk bash the club for things they wouldn't bash any other organisation for and that really sticks in my craw. If criticism is warranted then fair enough but much of it isn't. I was recently charged a hefty "administration" fee for booking gig tickets online and charged a hefty fee by Thomas Cook for paying by credit card. Its part and parcel of business these days.
  3. Does anyone know which young players have been released?
  4. They do indeed Vic, but many never will. I'm with you 100% on this. I thought at the time that some comments on these Boards were out of order. Now I know different. Mr Slane contributed very little or nothing to our season. Celtic are welcome to him.
  5. Great post. Its 100% correct of course. Look at McDiarmid Park - it wasn't originally in Perth. ICT's ground - not in Inverness. Falkirk's ground - not in Falkirk. Its donkeys years since Partick Thistle actually played in Partick. Towns expand and grow and Motherwell will do that or die. They have always done that. Out of interest what settlement was Ravenscraig steelworks actually in?
  6. Something in that Al. I'd go so far as to say he's like Ross MacCormack. In the 2nd half of his last season with us he looked tremendous - the Hearts Cup game at Tynecastle anyone? By far the most eyecatching player on the pitch. But...when you looked at his performance objectively he hadn't actually done anything. Likewise Jim O'Brien is easy to admire but all too often you have to ask what he's actually achieved.
  7. Sometimes this Board needs a little lightening up - it gets too intense at times. A gentle dig on my part, nothing more. Jay's one of the finest.
  8. C'mon Jay, yer a better fan than that and ye know it. It was only a few weeks ago ye were getting yer mates (who usually PATG) in for nought at the Falkirk game, and diddling the club in the process. Lighten up!
  9. He was also largely to blame for the second too. A ridiculous knock out to Reynolds. Our defenders should now be under strict instruction - no more pass backs. Put the ball out for a throw first. It also has to be said that Fraser's kicking was appalling yesterday too - aiming for the completely the wrong area of the park.
  10. No, I never said that. All I'm saying is that if there's insufficient capacity then ST holders should get preference.
  11. We've had no trouble, none whatosever, in gettig into the Cooper Suite until the Falkirk game and then folk were being turned away. Today they asked to see our tickets and I've no problem with that. Health and safety issues no doubt. Sorry to hear you're not supporting the club financially, through the CC. Beer money spent elsewhere will be going straight into the very deep pockets of publicans and brewers.
  12. Not at all, the club did the right thing today and I back them for that. At the Falkirk game season ticket holders, including my group, were turned away because it was too full. No doubt quite a few PATG cutomers got in. Handled well today.
  13. Terry dropped him for a poor performance at Ibrox and then wasn't impressed that he signed a pre contract agreement with us. Don't really want to mention JG again for fear of upsetting folk, but believe me he did not rate Michael.
  14. Cool down mate. No offence intended by my remark. The relevance of my comment is that Terry Butcher didn't rate him at Inverness. Now Jim Gannon, whatever his faults, is generally credited with having a good eye for a player, and being euphemistic, didn't rate him either. The only one who did seem to rate him was Mark McGhee, and he never actually managed him. McGhee excepted, both of the other 2 bosses deemed him to be surplus to requirements. Not conclusive evidence I know but when 2 managers come to the same conclusion then it does make you think. Thats the relevance of my comment.
  15. Good value for money and I'll be renewing.
  16. I very much doubt that. He was top of Jimbo's hit list of players to be moved on.
  17. Stepover was a lot faster - one of the quickest on our books over short distances I believe. Suts is as slow as a week in jail.
  18. Not wholly to blame I'll admit but certainly had a large part in it. He came well off his line and then stopped and didn't even attempt to get the cross. Had he come for it he might have put the Celtic player off, had he stayed on his line he'd probably have saved the effort. Looked totally at sea for it.
  19. Celtic were there for the taking but we lacked the bottle. Sunday will tell us if our season is over or not, but the signs are ominous. Last 2 or 3 games the Auld Yins have got it wrong. Can anyone explain to me what John Sutton was doing in midfield? We badly need more bite in the side and a leader on the pitch.
  20. My opinion of him has not changed at all. He was a liability at cross balls and looked culpable for the second goal. He was in no mans land - didn't stay on his line and didn't go for the ball. Not SPL material.
  21. Seconded. It would be nice too if some of the regular attenders, who are not ST holders and who slipped in for nothing at the Falkirk game, gave the club something back, assuming they can afford to do so.
  22. Our slope is no worse than several others in the SPL. Quite a slope at NDP and certainly a substantial one at Tannadice. Notaware of great problems at Tannadice due to the gradient.
  23. Apart from Russia does anyone know what season the Scandinavian and Baltic countries play? Do they play winter football? Just curious.
