  1. Horrible game & weather but I stayed the night in Inverness and had s great time in Foxies - journey back home next day wasn’t good due to my hangover. Great start today let’s keep it up
  2. All the best to him, good solid player who got way to much abuse on here.
  3. Their budget seems to me to be focused on buying experienced players that they get a low return on for transfers -with one or two exceptions ie Steve May- which is ok if you have a continual sponsorship income from a firm owned by your club owner but we don’t have that luxury and need to gamble on younger inexperienced players who we hope to develop and sell on to keep us in the league.
  4. No chance he will be allowed to play against his parent club but agree he put in a decent shift last night.
  5. Last night I thought it wasn’t a penalty but on highlights it was. Nothing wrong with their second either - just a wee tug and a bit of 50/50 - but the defender didn’t dive to the ground to cheat the referee unlike what Celtic players have done in the past. Very happy with the result.
  6. McHugh but I have to say there weren’t a lot of players who were in the running
  7. you’re so way off the mark your lack of understanding is farcical. Best you do some research before you post again on this subject. Heres a start for you club statement from Dec ‘14 Motherwell Football Club and the ‘Well Society can confirm that they have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Mr Les Hutchison. If the transaction set out in the MOU is concluded, Mr Hutchison will provide the club with working c apital finance, alongside the ongoing funding support provided by the Society, which has just provided another lo an totalling £100k to the club This finance will take the form of an interest free loan, repayable over a maximum period of five years. During that time the Society Board have committed to growing both membership numbers and funds in order to demonstrate that the supporter base is fully behind the concept of fan ownership. Once Mr Hutchison’s loan has been repaid in full, it is anticipated the Society will become the ow ners of the club. Mr Hutchison will effectively act as facilitator for the transition of ownership of the club to supporters, provided there is clear evidence that more of our fan base is willing to support the initiative. We have now entered a 30-day exclusivity period to enable financial and legal due diligence to be undertaken. Mr Les Hutchison stated: “I look forward to working with the Society and the Club to help them achieve their objective of fan ownership and be financially sustainable within five years.” Mr Brian McCafferty, acting Chairman of the Society, added: “We would like to sincerely thank Les for his generous loan to the club which has kept alive hopes of community ownership. We emphatically believe the partnership between Les and the society provides, by far, the best solution to both the club’s short-term financial needs and its long -term sustainability and success.”
  8. The figures quoted are basic wages. We might pay more in other benefits ie signing on fee, appearances, win bonuses, final league position etc which could put us above other clubs when taken into account.
  9. I recon that the VT guy got his numbers mixed up and so they just went with the clip they had. No way was that deliberate
  10. I think initially Campbell (?) was blind side of Johnson — who no doubt could hear our screams to centre the ball and was probably thinking where the fuck is the guy I’ve to square it to - and when he did turn the Aberdeen defender he saw a way through to goal and took his chance well. So in short I don’t think he should or had the chance to square the ball into the centre.
  11. Hard one today, no poor shows but think Grimshaw was outstanding - looks back to being the player who we had on loan. Long may that continue. Would also like to mention Mbulu the guy looked very assured in defence
  12. Thought I’d bump this up as a reminder
  13. With the previous talk about him needing a rest, I’d like to think that he gets a break and some time off rather than getting thrown into this game.
  14. Though Cadden was the better of a great team performance
  15. Agree, shows that it was maybe the system we were playing earlier that hampered him and not a dip in form. Glad to see him back doing what he does best.
  16. I’m sure that I heard somewhere that the reason he’s still with us is that the development fee we are due was more than any team had offered for him so we were happy to run down his contract and let him leave - I believe that if he signs another contract with us his development fee is void due to his age.
  17. To a certain extent the Bois have become a victim of their own success. A few years ago the Bois were the envy of the fans of other club in Scotland - even OF fans I know said they made coming to FP something different - and many other clubs youngsters have tried to emulate them but today (and to an extent last season) some of them seem to be more intent on making a name for themselves and as such have dragged the mainstay away from their original ideals. I really hope that they get back to why they were started (to create an atmosphere and kick the club and older fans up the arse when required) but I fear that the “hangers on” - who I believe are not really Motherwell fans but others to young to be allowed to go see the bigot brothers alone - will end up causing conflict between the bois, the club and other fans. In short it’s up to the real Bois to get back to basic, self regulate as before, get back the closeness with the club and older fans and reign in the guys intent on causing strife everywhere. Dont get me wrong I’m not asking them to be angels — a lot of us older guys weren’t - and a bit of an edge is what they’re about. I’m not saying they should run away from guys giving them shit but having a go at other teams fans who are not bothering them is out of order - if someone pushes them they should push back but don’t be the pushers. End of - slightly drunken - rant.
  18. Pretty much agree with both these posts but my main concern is with fitness of Turnbull & Johnson. They would have to be replaced at somepoint leaving only one spare sub for injury or formation changes. I’d be happy with either both starting and bringing on Bigi & another striker later or Bigi starting with Turnbull coming later. Giving Campbell a rest is an option but fitting McHugh or Rose into a midfield 5 is an option I’d dismiss as we don’t have a striker who can play alone nor do we have the midfield that can support a lone striker and add goals.
  19. Sorry to hear that Chris has had to retire, great player for us and a great out ball player. Our defence could punt it up the wing and be confident that he would try and chase it down taking the pressure off but also good enough to have it passed to him in attack and see him make defenders panic as they didn’t know how to handle him. All the best to him.
  20. Typical I go down to Yorkshire & it’s a 2-0 win for the youngsters- how was the game?
  21. Great memories of this guy - would like to see him back again. From BBC He's had £23m worth of transfer fees spent on him but has never played in the Premier League, and now Ross McCormack is heading out of the Championship to Australia for the second time. When he moved from Leeds to Fulham in 2014 for £11m it was a record fee paid by a second-tier club in England. But the Scotland striker's career has hit the buffers since Aston Villa paid £12m for him in 2016 - he scored just three times for the club and has not played a league game for them since January 2017.
