  1. He was my 1st thought but I suspect we would have heard something on here if it we him. Wouldn't be upset to see him on Thursday though.
  2. I think thats rich coming fae a Celtic fan given their previous "history"!
  3. Thought this quote from the sporting life interview was interesting, "I know we had a wild card option in the next 24 hours for this game. That might just be too tight, not for us, but for the player to make an informed position." could we see a new face on thursday night?
  4. "......But I realise the fans will want us to bring in players who can help deliver immediate success.” Looks like he's been reading this site! welcome aboard the Ark Jimbo.
  5. It would make my day if we could get him to sign again -what a two fingered salute to McGhee that would be.
  6. I fly out to Egypt on Thursday and will miss both these games. If we progress I will also miss the away leg of the next round, arrive back the day of the return leg and will have to make a quick dash up from Manchester airport to make the game.
  7. All the best to you Davie, its been a pleasure watching you become the man you are. Best wishes to you and your wife, i'm sure you will love Bristol.

    Jim Gannon

Although most of this story is already well known to us, there is a small part quoting St Johnstone manager Derek McInnes who thinks he will do well for us, http://sport.scotsman.com/football/39Outst...well.5409086.jp

Good story in the Herald regarding Gannon, http://www.theherald.co.uk/sport/headlines..._for_future.php
  10. Keith Lasley's saying that with the help of the fans we can progress. So get your throats well oiled for Thursday. http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/110700...on-fans-backing

    Jim Gannon

Although appointing Craigan as assistant manager would be the "cheap option", i don't agree that it would be wrong. Having ofter heard him talking on the radio and watched his interview the other week, he appears to be very capable of being the assistant manager. I understand that he has the relevant coaching badges so if he get the job I'd have no complaints. JB has done very well with his appointments of firstly McGhee and Leitch and now with Gannon so I'd trust his judgment on Craigan.

If we were to try and take players, i suspect Gannon would select the targets and then leave our chairman to negotiate the deals, so you could still get ripped off.
  13. Somebodys screwed up, StJohnstone are missing also. Here are two links I found of 'Well stories, http://www.sundaymail.co.uk/sport-news/sco...78057-21478087/ http://www.sundaymail.co.uk/sport-news/sco...78057-21478103/
  14. I lived in Bristol for 6 years and found that the city centre was mad at the weekends but never once got hassled for being Scottish. Like Rangers and Celtic, City and Rovers fans hate each other - take away the OF bigotry, leave the hatred and thats what City and Rovers are like but as they are not in the same league you don't get the mad derby game days we see up here.
  15. Was it not Magnus Magusson on the cover? Fatcalf - ".........I lost my box decades ago" I wonder how many on here would agree with that!
  16. Although I have no idea who our next manager is, I suspect that JB has made his decision and that everything is done and dusted. I also think that talks have taken place with the new manager where he will have agreed the sale of DC and PQ with the money being made available to him for signing targets who I hope he is now talking to. I think the reason he's not been revealed yet is due to the club not wanting him to be seen as the man behind getting rid of these players, which could lead to a small section of our fans being on his back from day one. All of this is only my opinion and if I'm correct then by Tuesday we will have seen DC sold, PQ sold or deal nearly completed, new manager confirmed, one new player signed and added to the squad for Europa cup game.
  17. I don't know how accurate the stories regarding Clarkson and Quinn are but if they are correct then I would hope that JB keeps them until the Europa League games (rounds 1 and if we qualify round 2) before selling them. This would help the club progress and give the new manager time to find replacements.

    So It Begins...

Great to hear that the USH has been tested OK and that the seeding of the park is to start today. Well done to all those involved. PS 'Flow, one small point re your latest update - check that the painters use dustsheets as I don't think I could face another thread re "paint splashes on the steps".
  19. I'd agree with you, if he checks out then its worth approaching him. He would also have a good idea of who we could get from the english leagues. Nothing gained nothing lost.
  20. WGS is sitting in Southampton looking for a job.

    Mcghee

If I was Boyle, I'd be paying for the best manager available and as long as McGhee is this person and keeps doing well to the best of his ability, then no matter how big a tosser he is I'd keep him until someone better turned up.
  22. I've no doubt JB has that side of things in hand. I suspect we'll have a new manager within 48hrs of McGhee leaving.
  23. I think its best that Scott doesn't get the Motherwell job at the moment. He wasn't a shining success at Ross County on a tight budget so i couldn't see him doing any different here - he requires more time to learn. Also, with only 6.5% of folk on here choosing him as manager, it appears nobody should be that bothered. Lets take the cash and move on. Motherwell need either a manager who can manage on a tight budget or a large cash injection (which ain't going to happen unless one of us wins the euro tomorrow night ), so best of luck to JB in his search for a new manager.
  24. I'm sure while he was the manager of Ross County his family stayed in Motherwell and he travelled back down on a Sat. night for a few days. Don't think the same senario could happen here as McGhee would also want to travel down to see his family and I can't see both of them being away at the same time.
