  1. There have been one or two but many more have commented that he's nowhere near ready. We saw a few cameos of him early in the season and quite a few thought that he wasn't ready. At that time he looked to be way out of his depth. He then went out on loan to a lower league club at Stenhousemuir but failed to make any impression and hardly got any game time. He then returned. Now I don't understand why Moses wasn't given any time today like 15 or 20 minutes. Although he hasn't played for some weeks, he's played more than Mark Ferrie. I'm all for giving young lads gametime but it has to be in the right situation. Today only served to prove that young Ferrie should be nowhere near the first team squad for his own good. He needs time in the gym and a loan spell at a lower league club where he can get playing time. I don't know about Dylan Wells. One of a number of odd decisions from SK today.
  2. We play our most attractive and effective football when its an open game and we're counterattacking. Our defence is shaky at the best of times and needs serious attention, as does (to a lesser extent) our midfield. When teams score first against us and then sit in we struggle. We obviously got it wrong on so many fronts today, but it was still a close game and there's no need to panic as long as SK learns lessons. He watched Aberdeen on Wednesday and so knows how they play so its his reaction to that, that was remiss.
  3. As said elsewhere, fielding a 17 year old, albeit a very talented one, behind 2 attacking central midfielders was a huge risk. Also I thought the McGinn at LWB, was a failed experiment that had been consigned to the dustbin of history. SK does half overthink things at times.
  4. Good luck to the lad, but a few of us have said that for some time. He couldn't get a game for Stenhousemuir whilst on loan. I suppose today, we wanted a striker on the bench and he fitted that criterion.
  5. Still a lot to play for in the remaining pre split games of course, but I think we'll be good for finishing the penultimate section of the league in 9th spot and we should hold onto that position post split. To do that, we need to pick up 2 more points in the remaining 3 matches and we're capable of doing that. Draws against St Mirren and Hibs should ensure that and a win, although unlikely, would mean we exceed that target. My guess after 33 games is: Aberdeen 8th on 37 points Us 9th on 34 points St Johnstone 10th on 29 points Ross County 11th on 27 points Livingston 12th on 17 points. A few months ago we'd have died in a ditch for 9th or even 10th spot.
  6. Disappointing, but not surprising result. Beforehand, I had this down as a stick on draw. The warning signs were there on Wednesday evening at Dundee when the home side threw the kitchen sink at the Dons and scrambled a win through a penalty. Still, the coming break will give us the opportunity to get a few injured lads back fit (and also to pick up more injuries in training). Disappointing to hear of dubious refereeing & VAR but to be fair its not common to get much in the way of decisions against Aberdeen. Dundee stole our good luck in midweek. 6 second half subs equates to 3 minutes added on time taking nothing else into account. Our starting midfield did look a bit lightweight and, like Grizzly, was surprised at Davor's omission. Maybe he wasn't fit or we just assumed Aberdeen would roll over in midfield. Who knows. At the end of the season we may view today's result somewhat differently.
  7. Not at the game today, but that midfield looks a bit lightweight on paper. Missing Gent & Devine I assume?
  8. If we assume Aberdeen will be at the top of their game and we compete very well, we won't go far wrong.
  9. An interesting survey from the Society, which I received yesterday. Hope all members received the email. https://t.co/TIOYhXivPN Its also illuminanting the number of members who have updated their contact details.
  10. Joe Chalmers now coming on with Liam Grimshaw spectating from the bench.
  11. Gallagher, Moult and Watt featuring for Dundee United who are currently 3 0 down. Big Declan just sold a goal.
  12. Absolutely. As a fan owned club, its not unreasonable for members to be told if we have a CEO and if so, who it is.
  13. It appears that Jon Obika is injured. No idea if it's just a minor knock or something more serious.
  14. Will they even bother? Given their track record, they may just approach the person in question or their agent directly.
  15. I agree with what you say Denny. I emailed the Society on Sunday to query why the bucket collection was in support of the Community Trust and not the Society. The answer I received was that the theme of the day is that MFC is a club for everyone and the Society wanted to help celebrate the great work that the Community Trust does, and to encourage its members to think of donating to them (the Trust) as a local charity. The Society hopes to get lots of people signed up, or rejoining on the day, which will be worth more to it in the long run than a one off collection. Now, thats laudable in principle, but to me, is contradictory to what is happening right now in terms of working up an investment proposal. I don't undertand how getting more fans to sign up or rejoin on the day is mutually exclusive with a bucket collection in aid of the Society. Lets be clear, a bucket collection on its own will not make a huge difference financially. The impression that I have, maybe wrongly in fairness, is that the club needs an injection of significant investment by October. That news alarmed me and possibly many others. Many of us want the Society to plug any hole with its its own proposal, which it is working up as I type. Given this situation, many members, like me, have restarted monthly subs or increased them and quite a few new members have joined this call to arms, specifically to help it financially. At this time, the Society cannot afford to ignore any potential source of cash, however modest. I believe that every penny counts just now. I just find it odd that the Society will be raising funds for a sister organisation at this particular time, when it is in need itself.
  16. Something very fishy about the way Aberdeen is conducting business. Its convenient that Neil Warnock "resigned" just as They were concluding negotiations.
  17. I believe part of the reason for the low turnout in the recent Society vote was out of date contact information (now the subject of this updating exercise) and emails going into spam folders etc. More to it than that of course, but please check your details folks.
  18. There's a good chance that they'll have a new man in charge for next Saturday. I just hope they treat Lennon Miller with more respect than they did at Fir Psrk last time out
  19. Just received a Society email this morning. I'm glad to hear that we're having a Society event on the day of the St Mirren game. Strike while the iron is hot as they say. There will be a bucket collection but it's being undertaken by the Society on behalf of the Community Trust. Now I may be in a minority of one here, but although I support the Trust 100%, surely on this particular occasion it should be to boost the coffers of the Society itself? Especially so, given financial concerns articulated at the Club AGM and the need to back a Society proposal with hard cash.
  20. A true modern day miracle, to emulate Lazarus who was raised from the dead after 4 days.
  21. Apparently he was seen training after being out for 4 days. 🤣
  22. Not worth a thread on its own but we're playing Ayr United today in a bounce game to keep us ticking over.
  23. Big changes over the summer I think. I'd say that Devine, Vale and Gent will all move on. Shaw should be allowed to return to his parent club. I'd keep O'Donnell and Mugabi as backs ups; Of the others, I'd try to keep McGinn. Nicholson looks to be a player if we can get him fit. Elliot - who knows. Ferrie - not shown up much so far? Spittal is a lost cause, as he'll move on. Can we keep Bair and Miller - maybe one but not both. Slattery is a real frustration as there's a good player in there but he's stalled and now injured of course. Help him to recover and then move on. . I'd like to see a bit more of Nicholson and something of Elliot and Ebileye in the coming games.
  24. It'll be all over the Scottish media shortly.............not. That would undermine Clement's post match comments and that just won't do.
