  1. Never gonna happen, period. So lets just forget about it and move on.
  2. Dont think i have seen it mentioned anywhere yet, but if you consider the impact of voting yes with regards to the non OF supporters in the country. I honestly think that most fans will vote with their feet towards any club that votes "YES to Newco". Granted we may lose rangers fans by voting no, but should we vote yes then we will lose a similar amount of fans from Celtic when they come to town. Likewise I would fully expect the away support at every Well home game to at least halve if we vote yes. In this scenario then the loss of the Rangers support will have the lesser impact on us.
  3. Just a reminder for anyone who intends flying with KLM on European duties this year about this deal. Basically sign up for Flying Blue as soon as you have tickets booked, and then upgrade to Flying Blue Petroleum. Qualifying details are 1 return flight per year from an "oil centre" or 2 return flights per year from anywhere else. Pick your employer as one of the oil majors in Aberdeen. It turns out that Edinburgh is now one of KLM's "oil centres", so a return flight from Edinburgh to anywhere will sign you up for it automatically. Free Booze !. Just off to rejoin now seeing as I am off to the 'Dam tomorrow with my Mrs and daughter. http://www.klm.com/t...ition/index.htm
  4. If it is "only" the roof that needs replaced that would imply to me that it is the fixings holding down the roof that are the problem. Could also be a major issue with the roofremoval, as it seems to be made of Asbestos board like many of the buildings of the time. IT cant be all that bad however, if it survived the storms last December. The steelwork may look in poor condition, but I could point out many oil rigs in the North Sea that are in worse condition. This seemingly Marathons Brae "B" platform - and I have seen worse than this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ScD4IGbn9cY
  5. Only in Scotland could 10 teams from a league of 12 be called "The Rebel 10"

    Why?

The one I loved at last weekends cup game was the Queens Park flag in the south stand that quite simply stated "1867" It kinda said to me "screw you, we were here 1st"
  7. Happy Clappy - Not me. More of a cynical old bastard !

  8. Rattles being thrown out the pram all over as usual. The group were told to sit down which they all did rather grudgingly, then someone decided to be a smart arse and started the chant "stand up for the Motherwell" which they all promptly did. All I can say is that more than one village was short of an idiot yesterday - too much drink + away day + herd mentality make people do stupid things. People have already stated that they had to move from their seats to get a view of the game due to all this carry on. You would not get away with standing for the whole match in the centre of the East Stand at Fir Park, so why the hell do people think they have a god given right to do the same at an away ground ? Strange that I managed to stand for the whole game, with not one police or steward coming near me. But then again, I was in the back row and not blocking anyone's view (as were many other supporters who stood throughout the game). Similarly the Aberdeen fans in the Beech end who stood throughout the game were all at the back of the stand not interrupting anyones view. Incidentally, 1/2 of the arrests and ejections that happened were all directed by the "spotter" that the police had at the back of the crowd all the way through the first half.
  9. Screw that, I will too busy playing Defender, Robotron and Star Wars at http://www.replayexpo.com/ to even consider watching it on the Box !
  10. And here was me thinking that "being intoxicated" was one of the pre-requisites before going to a football match.
  11. HOTD for this pish ? The topic has been covered time and time again, and this has done nothing other than set the happy clappy club up against anyone who has the cheek to have an opinion that is not happy clappy. Get a grip and move on.
  12. 10 team league would drop my already dismal 5-10 games a season down to probably nil. I would satisfy myself with spending the £25 entry money in the Boozer on drink, along with all the other cash I would have spent getting to Fir Park. Pretty much a no-brainer if you ask me, and if any club is fool enough to be taken in (yet again) by the propoganda of the 4-5 best supported teams in Scotland.
  13. 4% split to each team, regardless of league position. 13% and 11% respectively to #1 and #2 on top of that making the following list for total % of revenues: I am pretty sure there used to be a fixed cash sum also to the home team for staging a televised game. 60k or so springs to mind. Not a lot when you consider that playing either of the OF on a televised match cuts around 2k from our normal gate without TV there against them. 1 4.0% 13.0% 17.0% 2 4.0% 11.0% 15.0% 3 4.0% 5.5% 9.5% 4 4.0% 4.5% 8.5% 5 4.0% 4.0% 8.0% 6 4.0% 3.5% 7.5% 7 4.0% 3.0% 7.0% 8 4.0% 2.5% 6.5% 9 4.0% 2.0% 6.0% 10 4.0% 1.5% 5.5% 11 4.0% 1.0% 5.0% 12 4.0% 0.5% 4.5% Tot 48.0% 52.0% 100.0% http://www.scotprem....BCURRENT%5D.pdf - page 31 in the document.
  14. Dont know, but check and find out if any of them have a Special Licence. Missed out on that for the Celtic match the other week when the Waverley in Wishaw had a "special licence" and had been open from 11am !
  15. Much as I hate to say it and much as I hate to admit it, given how important Saturdays game is to us it is a foregone conclusion that we will get humped as is the usual when we get into these situations.

    Stewards

Lets just see how you feel after 110 minute of Glasgows finest old plod on Sunday next week. First game I been at in a few months, and to be honest I think the stewards did a reasonable job compared to what I have seen over the last 30 years. Certainly no worse than the last game I was at this season. And as to the loudspeakers from what my mate was saying someone got struck with a car the other week ? would you rather they ignored that danger. As was posted, get over it and be grateful you didnt get a lifetime ban for the petulant tossing of a coca cola cup at the ref !.
  17. Bastards ! Was due in Aberdeen 4pm today, still offshore due to weather delays. Looking like tomorrow night at best now.
  18. Tommy Sheridan With Billy Davies as assistant standing in until such time as Sheridan is released. I'm sure with Sheridan will have no trouble getting a dodgy phone smuggled into BarL so he can keep in touch with the other mad shagger during match times..
  19. Absolutely the right response from the authorities for once. Dont see what all the fuss is about tbh.
  20. So far looking at £200 on internal flights Stavanger, Bergen, Aalesund`+ whatever it costs to change my return ticket from Stavanger with KLM from 28th to 31st July. Now just got to get past the away leg and speak nice with Mrs Bomjac.
  21. One to bear in mind with flights - If you got one of your party with a RBS royalties account, have them book it for you. It will guarentee your entire party admission to the Servisair Lounges in any UK airport. Or you can just use your KLM Flying Blue Petroleum card since Stavanger is a qualifying airport anyways.
  22. Pity says the guy trying to type on a Norwegian laptop via a dutch keyboard .
  23. The Hurtigruta could be one interesting method from Bergen. You could also get a ferry from Newcastle - Bergen and drive from there¨. According to google maps its a 7 hour drive, but that includes 2 ferries which will break the journey up and let you stretch your legs a bit. Over the moon with Norway, but a bit disappointed with the location since I am in Stavanger 26th-28th for some training. All being said, that assumes I dont get the call to go offshore on the platform that sailed 2 days ago from Rotterdam to be lifted on. Bus wise I would say its about 7hrs from Bergen by bus, which would make a 12 hr journey with 5 ferry trips form Stavanger. Pretty sure I met some of their supporters in a bar in Haugesund, Norway about 3 years ago. a 12 hour bus journey for a Cup tie sticks in my mind from talking to them. Drink wise - yes its expensive. Stock up on spirits, beer and wine in Duty free (you can buy in on the way in to the country rather than at this end) and stay away from the local beer - its utter pisswater. I was gettin a litre of 50 proof vodka for 130 Krone last time I was working there 3 years ago.
