  1. Undisclosed fees are pretty much the norm for most teams now.
  2. No one knows how much we paid for moult, so that's just speculation. Signing Moult and Aaron's was plain wrong, and was a result of our indecision over GA in the summer and not either committing and letting him sign folk, or sacking him after the poor, but jammy, run in. I can sympathize a little with hammell over the timing, but I have to imagine the recruitment team presented other signing options, but he went with three players that he knew and Penney. Most of us were happy to see what moult could offer at the time, but it was clear very early on that we signed him with known injury issues, more than just a case of him lacking sharpness.
  3. We can't have Carroll or McGinley fighting for anything, their bodies are made of wet cardboard.
  4. Yeah, normally we're clear about who we're trying to keep and who have been let go. We'll have offered Cornelius and Max deals to protect our training compensation, and SK mentioned trying to keep as much of this team together as possible, so have to assume Goss and Casey are under offer too, but who knows.
  5. Maguire had a good spell when Alexander had him doing all the donkey work, but I don't think that position exists in our current system. I could see him being a backup/bench option if he diesnt move on, which is also something we need to be fair. I can't see Shields staying, it could be another loan if we can't find a permanent move for him. I thought Mahon was only a 2 year deal, so surprised to see him still around. I have to assume that Efford, SOD and McGinn were extended based on clauses of some kind, as it's unusual to extend them without mentioning it.
  6. I'd be reluctant to let go a solid goalkeeper after seeing how quickly a goalkeeping crisis can send a club down. We will have our price, but I'd rather we kept Kelly for now. As for the other contracted players, I don't see them leaving money on the table, and I don't blame them. If they're as shite as we think they are, the only way is down for them, so they may as well run out their contract. I'm not sure what percentage of expected pay that "mutualed" players get, but we'd need to pay that on top of what it costs to get their replacement, and weve only just paid off two managers, so id be surprised if we did a bunch of these. We need backup players too, so I don't see the harm in keeping some of them. I suspect Morris is off though. It sounds like we've imposed a deadline for players to make a decision on their contract offers, which is good, we need time to go for other options before it's too late. Hopefully we can keep hold of Casey and McGinn.
  7. Both Tierney and Danzaki were injured for a fair bit of SKs tenure, so we don't know for sure how they would have been used. Same goes for Efford. My guess is all three would have been bench players in our current system, with efford possibly being an option for the chaotic partner for KVV. Tierney would probably have been behind Spittal for his spot as a starter. SK kind-of hinted in a recent interview that Danzaki wouldn't be getting a game even if fit.
  8. I like mcginn and would be happy for him to stay. However, he did have the funniest moment of the season with that ridiculous OG v killie.
  9. Picked spittal, was a good finish for his goal and he was always an attacking threat. Thought about McGinn for having to carry bevis and blaney through, but went with the attacking choice.
  10. As someone who is currently dealing with just Achilles tendinitis, never mind a ruptured one, I almost feel his pain. At least he doesn't have to pay for health insurance.
  11. Oh, and because county lost and we prevented united from scoring the goals they needed, we 100% relegated them.
  12. United were hardly all guns blazing, but they had plenty of chances to get themselves into a decent lead. When we started to turn the screw in the last 20 minutes, the result looked inevitable, as we were lining up to shoot and they were spent. Mugabi definitely kept the game interesting, and Blaney had to be dragged back into reality a few times too. Fair play to McGinn for keeping it together, he was excellent. Furlong was brilliant as well, hopefully we can get him again. Spittal had another good game, and he doesn't get the plaudits he deserves because of the form KVV has been on. Was good to see Miller start, he had some jitters but played some tidy stuff and competed well. KVV really rueing that penalty he gave to Moult. It's absolutely mental that most of us are sitting here disappointed that our striker could only get the 29 goals.
  13. He played 40odd times this year, and only lost his place recently. They are sure to go on a spending spree, so he could feasibly be one that loses out, but who knows.
  14. We negotiated a fee for him rather than going to a tribunal for training compensation. "Motherwell were entitled to a training compensation for developing the 22-year-old but they've also negotiated the 'addition of future economic rights."
  15. KVV googling the slosh to learn for his 30 goal celebration.
  16. Does var time get ignored between goals? A 2 minute KVV hat trick would probably take about 15 real life minutes once fhe var checks are taken into account.
  17. They're playing for their lives, and we're playing for stats. Unsaveable indeed.
  18. I'm counting anything better than us losing by 8* goals as us officially relegating United. *I'm assuming they need 8, just subtract one if it's 7, same idea.
  19. KVV will be practicing shooting from kickoff, by kicks, and directly from corners, and is currently googling if you can score from throw-ins and drop balls. Utd have no choice but to come out all guns blazing, so we can just set ourselves up for counter attacks.
  20. What was that? That was like 2 penalties. Refs grandstanding again.
  21. Seems like they have something set up to manage things in the interim, so I'm not too worried about that. Would rather that than rush into an appointment.
  22. Wonder if there was an appearance based clause in his contract to trigger another year? Either way, he's a solid enough player who may fare better in the wing back role if we stick with it, or at worst function as an experienced backup. With the additional subs available now, I think that changes how teams shape their squads and their bench as subs can have a greater impact now. We've seen SOD come on a few times under kettlewell as a defensive sub late in the game.
  23. I doubt he is looking at the likes of Aberdeen for his next move, he has a chance to really make bank on the back of this season, and we will be doing the same when it comes to a fee. Maybe we can have one of those elusive bidding wars.
  24. We get linked with Dundee players often by their ITK types, and none of them ever seem to happen. I don't see McMullan being true, but if it is, at least he can't roast us.
  25. We're just using who we currently have the best we can to get through the rest of the season. I don't think current selections are indicative of what we will do next season. We will most likely need 2 strikers in the summer, so will be interesting to see what kettlewell goes for.
