  1. The only possible reaction I can see from the SFA is to appoint Collum and McLean to do the game at Fir Park next Saturday v St Mirren as a 'git it up yous'.
  2. If we're looking for an experienced centre-forward who can also inspire and encourage the younger players then Troy Deeney is available I believe. Or maybe not.
  3. While it's good to hear rumours, as it shows we're actively working on targets, stories like the Scott Fraser one always make me nervous. We've seen County bring in a couple today and Dundee adding a defender from Everton. Done deals. We get a story that we're in for a player as he desperately wants to get back to Scotland but we haven't agreed any deal and there are still 'hurdles'. It could be that his agent has been a busy man and every team in Scotland knew his status already but half-expecting to see Fraser and Craig Levein grinning as Fraser holds aloft a St Johnstone scarf in the next few days.
  4. Were Sunderland not quoted as being interested?
  5. BBC reporting that SJ are confident the game will go ahead despite Perth being included in a fresh red weather warning for 24 hours from 1200 tomorrow. Fecking madness, will give this one a miss. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/scotland/67172989
  6. I saw the highlights of their game at Livi and they looked as if they had sold out at least a couple of rows of seats in one section. Drove the crowd up to just over 2,000. To be fair though it was scheduled at an unusual time, 3pm on a Saturday.
  7. Kipre opened the scoring for WBA in the win v Middlesbrough yesterday.
  8. 3-0 @ half-time, a Spittal double added to the Ferrie opener according to Flashscores.
  9. Article on the BBC website about a Third Lanark tour of Argentina and Uruguay in 1923. As they didn't have enough players they included guests from other Scottish sides. Topscorer on the Tour was Hughie Ferguson. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-65890166
  10. A wee look at Randolph's career stats suggests he's had a similar gig at West Ham then Bournemouth for a couple of seasons too. Not exactly played many first team games.
  11. Fixtures for the Group games https://spfl.co.uk/news/viaplay-cup-group-stage-fixtures
  12. Willo Flood had a good enough career for a guy who was in danger of being carried away by a strong wind.
  13. The Ben I thought Texan was referring to was Henaghan, I'm sure we got a decent wedge for him. Last time I saw him he was selling goals for AFC Wimbledon.
  14. When do we find out who the random 'free weekend injured in training' player is? Just hoping it's not KVV, Casey or Butcher.
  15. Was Nicky Cadden ever at Fir Park, assume he was part of the youth setup?
  16. Over the last 5 or 10 years we've been told that a good few of the teams at our level have struggled to compete with National League sides when it comes to signing players. It looks like the English FA are planning on changes to non-league players contracts (including the National League) that will restrict the wages clubs need to pay them when injured. Wonder if that might make a few players reconsider their next career move if there is a risk of dropping to a hundred quid a week if they pick up an injury. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65068778
  17. I agree but with our attention on the LoI lately it wouldn't surprise me, underwhelming as it would be.
  18. I see Scott Burns tweeting that Josh Kerr, ex-Celtic and Brighton centre-half has terminated his contract with Bohemians in Ireland. Also played for Airdrie, comes from Coatbridge. A possible as a backup?
  19. He's sitting on the bench for them at Salford (McEntee that is).
  20. Well at least we know that if we can't get bodies in before midnight that the club will be disappointed.
  21. Another sign of a lack of leadership at the club? We need strong characters on and off the field, instead we have players complaining about the fans shouting at them. We need coaching staff and senior players pulling everyone together, feck it, if they feel hard done to then use it as a motivation to instill a seige mentality, don't moan about it on social media. I've spoken to another few fans who are close to chucking it for the season at least, especially after Saturday. The players might get their way and be playing to even more empty seats before they know it (though since they struggled in front of empty seats during the lockdown season it might not be any better for them).
  22. Aye, I remember one of our fans asking one of players (Maskaant?) what the keepers names was during the game and then telling people round about he'd said it was Simon. Simon/Sybrand, sound similar I suppose.
  23. Any inspection planned? I saw a couple of days ago that Arbroath were looking for volunteers to lift covers from the pitch on Saturday morning?
