  1. As sponsorship is pretty thin on the ground i hope they "MILK" this one for all it's worth!!!
  2. We've played 9 games murphy has played more he's a starter for the scottish under 21's i think he is a good wing player and often when he shows the confidence he breezes past players. Craig and archie will decide whether or not to give him a rest but with a bounce game on monday maybe blackman and casagolda could be nearing the fitness levels needed for the spl. We'll see encouraging signs in the u19 team anyway 3 wins out of 3 this is the future of our club heres hoping we can push on from here!!!
  3. 1 hour 15 mins till home time, 6 hours 45 mins till kick off followed by 90 mins worth of nailbiting stuff!!! Hopefully followed by a claret and amber party and complete euphoria these are teh moments i've never seen an old firm half as excited as we have been about the europa league and so far it pays not to take things for granted i'm so proud of our wee club right now and the whole of scotland is behind us. Who's for starting a flower of scotland chant before the game and get it right up them 10k plus well fans singing that would be AWESOME!!!!!
  4. Just a question why did u donate money to great ormond street when yorkhill is scotlands childrens hospital? the work they do there is fantastic and i know it's six and half a dozen just wondering why u would go to all the effort just to send ur hard earned to england?
  5. Odense must be pretty confident of sealing the tie at fir park they fielded the same team today against brondby the only change was they stuck caca on the bench. Helveg was on the bench for them today as well and could be a surprise start for them if they get too big for there boots coming to fir park thats the best thing that could happen to us. they still have to fly over here and they are going to sample a much more hostile crowd than the one we faced in odense and a properly packaed stadium. At half time we have given then a 2-1 lead if the team can find the same kind of performance that they had against aalesunds then it will be a historic night. I'm bursting with pride already at this point but i'll be shedding tears of joy if we can do this!!! MON THE WELL!!!
  6. They are all creaming themselves in aberdeen as they've taken 6 points from 2 games and scored 5 goals do they forget 4 of them were penalties and they were playing hamilton and st johnstone!!!!! Hamilton always clear the decks at the end of the season and as such it takes them half a season to get going. And with st johnstone they nicked a fluky goal with a sclaffed effort 4 mins from time!!! Dundee united have went completely off the rails what a result for ict!!! today. My predictions 1st rangers 2nd celtic 3rd hibs 4th hearts 5th motherwell 6th aberdeen 7th dundee utd 8th ict 9th st johnstone 10 st mirren 11 kilmarnock 12 hamilton Here are the reasons 1st rangers good squad been strengthened and they can't lose in walts last season 2nd inexperienced manager but this will be there undoing 3rd best strikeforce outside the old firm if they sort there defence 3rd is theirs 4th jim jefferies has bought well and they have a squad with potential 5th i can't see us improving than last year but neither doing any worse 6th good manager bought well and got rid of the prima donnas it will be a good season 7th they are going to lose conway and goodwillie and they have already gave sandaza, cadamarteri and myrie williams freedom to leave and they haven't replaced webster, they are very much rebuilding because of that no top six for me. 8th like butcher and he instills good self belief with rooney and foran ther is goals in that team 9th will be a hard season they draw more games than lose as they are difficult to break down but can't see them scoring enough to break into the top 6 10th lennons maiden season bought from lower scottish leagues it will take them a while to adjust also lost dorman and mehmet the main danger men 11th made some good loan signings still no goal scorer they have the knack of beatin ghte drop every year this year will be no different 12th we are the pride of lanarkshire billy reid was daft not to go to swansea i have no idea what his " unfinished business" was but i bet he's regretting it now, i think the league as a whole will be more competitive and his gamble of clearing the decks and starting again each season is going to backfire for all the money made from transfer fee's the side has little quality and a decent goally isn't enough my 2 cents probably all wrong but there u go
  7. I'm not going to get over cocky about the return leg as thats a sure fire way of tempting fate. Odense were built up to be a lot more than what they were and the two goals we conceded were avoidable by all accounts. Going to miss jenno in the centre of midfield whoever comes and replaces him really needs to step up to the plate. Am i the only one surprised djemba djemba never got at least a yellow card last night? Looking forward to the home tie, i never dare to dream but we are definately capable of beating odnse at home. Mon the well get the ground filled!!!!!!
  8. Can't agree with this comment about leaving sutton out and i would bet my house on him starting, i don't know where he's not able to play counter attacking football it was his ball over the top from left midfield on the counter that got jutkiewitz the 6th goal against hibs. Its the holding up the ball and taking pressure off the defence and being an outlet that makes him invaluable to the team i can see him playing a major part in the game.
  9. We lost 3 poor goals today, mark reynolds had a howler, hanlon's goal went in offmhis hand, as much as hartson and hendry say it was a legitimate goal the ball didn't have enough momemtum on it to cross the line until it hit his hand. I felt that bamba once again was allowed to get away with bully boy defending the whole game And eventually got carded for timewasting. lots of positives we need cover in defence the heat and the amount of games we've had so far makes it silly not to have sufficient cover.
  10. my 2 cents on the guy I wasn't impressed and on thats showing he has no more to offer than sutton or murphy and can't see him being a better impact sub than bob mchugh. The amount of balls played over the top to a target man striker that he didn't win was shocking. Out of the trialists i thought the asain kid khalim who played as a left winger looked worth a punt. and the wee guy they nick named jinky who won the penalty although small moved the ball really quickly and looked a handfull when he got going. they were the only 2 who offered anything different to what we have no point signing anyone to make up numbers we have underr 19's for that
  11. here's hoping you guys come over with big massive flags and take over the electric bar on the day just like the aalesands fans. I drove past the pub and it got me right up for the game "THE NORWEGIANS ARE COMING" We like denmark best bacon in the world by the way "so i've heard" do you think many will come over it's the deciding leg at fir park just the way we like it!!! MON THE WELL!!! And yeah calling a scotsman british not good at all big fella. Hopefully one day we will break free from britain and establish ourselves away from all there bullshit down south.
  12. I watched the last 15 mins of the game today fc copenhagen were pushing for the eventual winner and got it. up to that point od had all hands to the pump and defended in great numbers and showed a lot of team spirit. I agree that the two clubs are very evenly matched, the ace up our sleeve is our manager his tactics haven't failed to impress me over this european campaign. I'll admit i was pretty nervous the 2nd half against aalesunds but it turned out his tactics were spot on!!! I'm looking forward to a great game and motherwell has already done us so proud so far we never expected to get this far with such a thin squad. I hope we don't get any new players in before this game as bedding in new players is not what we need keep the old heads and experience to hopefully get us through to the group stages.
  13. I bought the new home top and i love it you've got to understand this isn't a a cashmere jumper it's a football top the quality is fine. And the money goes to the club what more can you ask for?
  14. CHILL OUT!!! Have a little faith people if we don't have a sponsor is it the end of the world, the top looks cracking the way it is for a start, we have a good core squad that fans from other teams thnik we will pose a threat this year without adding to it. I agree with it we are unbeaten in pre season friendlies and in 3 european games we haven't conceded a goal in open play and against both teams have had the better of the chances to score. So why panic we'll unearth a few more jems this year from the youth set up live goes on and motherwell will go on, and undoubtedly we have the most experienced management team in the spl so CHILL OUT !!!! The glass is definately half full this year!!!!
  15. you can use you english money here, the english are so stuck up they call scottish money monopoly money. and make a big fuss as if you've just place a piece of shit in there hand!!! I H8 England lol from the highlights i expected to see more from aalesunds your manager has a bit of a cheek calling us long ball merchants and as for your big striker was he even on the pitch. I'm not over confident as a motherwell fan winning is never a foregone conclusion europe is like an extra christmas present that you never expected enjoy it while you can m8 and no matter what we wish you and ur club all the best.
  16. its a really poor penalty to concede as there player didn't even have control off the ball there was no way he was going to catch that ball. The contact was minimal these european refs are soft as man, he played for it and got it fair play to them, Hately's dig was amazing what a goal that woulda been also ripped the 2 boys a new one b4 crossing for our goal can i just say o brien who?
  17. KEPT HITTING REFRESH THEN I GET 2 MESSAGES IN THE 92ND MINUTE PENALTY AFK AND GOAL AFK I'm so proud of the team and gutted we conceded still and an away goals is priceless oh and well done to Jamie Murphy now a true motherwell legend!!!!
  18. Job done indeed, nuff said 1-0 needed no more no less stroll on to norvege boys!!!!
  19. the potential is there , i'd love to hit top 6 football again thats got to be the first benchmark and we have the talent to do it. a cup run of some sorts preferably the scottish cup but reaching the final of a cup is doable. The ultimate though would be getting to the group stages of europa league the rest we've all done before but getting to the group stages would set this group of players apart from all the rest if we had that then didn't get relegated i'd take it over everything. no point living if you don't have a dream
  20. lol if we have ne1 at motherwell earning 2k a week i'd be really surprised and tbh nobody in our team is worth that much you are having a giraffe!!!! no idea who the top earner is and couldn't even hazard a guess it's not the money you pay them that makes them a good player (tore andre flo) we are a team and work together that is our strongest and best attribute we fight for each other and thats priceless!!!!
  21. From what i've seen of aalesunds or whatever there name is they rely a lot on there target man, play the long ball an awful lot, the big fella unlike crouch has a bit of weight to him, but again in the videos i've seen of breidablik some of the defending leading up to there goals was criminal, i don't think our current tie is anywhere near done yet we have a great chance but i'm excited about the next round as it on the surface presents a real opportunity
  22. I thought breidablik were a decent outfit but craig broon got his tactics spot on finnbogason (10) never got a sniff off the ball in the first 5 mins steve jennings clattered him from the back to let him know he was there, craigan has way too many fouls against him by the big number (24) son something i think his name was, we dominated possesion and wre lucky not to get caught out on the counter attack them team worked hard for each other which got us accross the line. from the highlights i've seen of some of your league games in iceland bliki, you have always been given a lot more space to attack than you were tonight, we are an organised and difficult team to break down under craig brown and can't see that changing we were far from our best tonight if we'd had our shooting boots on the score could have been very different. your fans done you club proud though and got behind your team i love seeing european fans at fir park and hope you guys enjoyed the experience.
  23. I'll be honest i'd rather humphrey cut inside and had a dig instead of cross it, he's left so many people for dead with his turn off pace last season but seems a little shot shy. The crossing part of his game can be improved i think it's his speed that hampers it he runs that fast and has to cross while the ball is still moving at pace away from him or stop the ball then cross it after exerting a lot off energy creating the space. It's a difficult skill to master also the bobble of essentially part time football pitches would'nt have helped lets hope when he hits the bowling green that is fir park it will improve. I've got a lot of time for this guy just give him a chance he needs support a few of you seem to forget the difficult circumstances this guy faced shortly after joining motherwell lets get behind him!!! Mon the well!!!!
  24. i don't think it's arrogance at all bliki thinking we should always beat a part time team. I'm cautious about your team as we have very little knowledge of your team, for all we know ur team might just be the best team in a bad league. I would like to share a fact from our european exploits last year. Flamurtari vlore who we played in the same round that we are playing you won there national cup also. after the first leg they were 1-0 to the good and we beat them 9-1 the 2nd leg so with previous results like that not only the biggest winning margin in europe for motherwell but one off the largest in our history and only having lost a few players we have just cause to be confident as i'm sure you are in breidablik. are you making the trip over?
