  1. Just watched Robinson interview after the game. He concedes wingers weren’t fit enough to play the way he wants. Why the fuck did they start then and why not adjust style of play? Until we have wingers that can compete at this level and a holding midfielder who can dictate play we may need to revert to a back 3?

    Striker

Big money in the championship but he’s arguably worth that if he scores 25+ goals this season?
  3. Polworth and Gallagher impressed at times and I think Campbell has taken his game up a level recently. Surprised to see Long start and hope we see Cole or Scott up top on Friday instead. Seedorf couldn’t run after 35 minutes, shocking that he started if that’s his fitness. Throughout the season I can see us needing to sacrifice one winger to have Polworth/Tanner/Turnbull in a more advanced position and still keeping 3 in the centre. Carson and Hartley will get their chance to come back in as well at some point, hopefully they do more than Grimshaw did yesterday to keep the place.
  4. I’d consider going 3 at the back and bringing Hartley back in for this, especially with Caroll out It worked reasonably well against Celtic in the past and pressing them high up the pitch. Not sure we have the quality in some of the crucial roles to play our current system against Celtic.
  5. How did Cole look when he came on?
  6. If Sloth isn’t suitable for the Donnelly position then we need to strengthen there. Donnelly and McGuire being our only two options for a crucial role in the team isn’t enough.

    2019-20 Rebuild

Hopefully more than Swindon interested and we could get a reasonable fee is he is to move on? Gillespie looks to be in great form so the move makes sense.
  8. Hopefully see Sloth at some point so we can understand what role in midfield he is suited to.
  9. I think in an ideal world players would want to leave on good terms and give something back to a club that helped them develop. However never at the expense of themselves and their own income and career, which is understandable.

    2019-20 Rebuild

I think we’ve saved a bit in the budget for a number 9, possibly a loan that could become available later in the window. Could maybe see Scott going out on loan or Johnson moving on if so. Don’t see any wingers or Gboly coming in now.
  11. Can Sloth play the Gorrin role? Would like to see Maguire get an opportunity in that role, hopefully Semple keeps his place too further on.

So we’re looking at 3 left backs in the first team squad and Richard Tait is still likely to play most our games there? Really thought after carrying pish like Sammon and Newell all season we’d opt for a leaner squad this year with some quality.

    2019-20 Rebuild

It’s difficult to judge how competitive we’ll be this year given the signings we’ve made are mostly unknown. Other than Gallagher perhaps who you’d expect to be a solid replacement for Aldred given his contribution at Livingston. I would have expected there to be more of a balance between unknown entities with potential and players like Gallagher who have a pedigree at this level. Hopefully we’ll bring in some players who we can expect to perform rather than hoping all 6 or 7 new players improve and have the best spells of their career with us.

Similar pedigree to big Kipre, hopefully this guy can have an impact. With another winger expected to join in addition, hopefully Gboly, this would suggest Cole and Long are considered options to lead the line I would think?

    2019-20 Rebuild

Ideally I’m hoping we’re still to sign a Gorrin/McHugh replacement, Gboly and a quality striker. Not sure we need another two wide players?
  16. Celtic still seem confident the deal with go through. Just a preventative procedure required to stop a flare up in future. Turnbull desperate to sign. Can’t believe he would turn down Norwich for that mob.

There needs to be investment for goals in the team. Let’s wait and see.

Ross McCrorie to be loaned out next season with condition he is played in a holding role. Could be an option?

Are the club able to give Cadden a deadline whilst still protecting compensation due if he moves on?

Interesting we’re looking to extend Campbell’s deal, still got another 2 years and his current deal expires just before his 23rd birthday so we’d get decent compo if he moved on then. Love Campbell though so hope he extends it.

    2019-20 Rebuild

If we do lose Turnbull but manage to keep Cadden and Aribyi we’ll need to find goal scorers somewhere. As good as Cadden and Aribyi are for the team they rarely score. Given Tanner had a bit of an end product and could be versatile across our front 4 positions I hope we’re able to retain him. Whether he’s in a state to have a go at rediscovering form of 2 years ago I’ve no idea.

    Maurice Ross

Interesting comment that we’d love to sign Lafferty but can’t afford him. He’d be a great fit for our system.

    2019-20 Rebuild

Robinson has been good at moving on players who haven’t been featuring in previous windows. I wouldn’t be surprised if there are clubs down south willing to offer Johnson, Hartley and Donnelly similar terms to what they have with us and allow us to free up budget. McHugh is a solid and useful player, I’d be happy if he stayed. It seems we’ve offered extensions to Frear and Main too but can’t say I’m keen to see them stay. Without Hastie and possibly Turnbull next season we’ll need to sign some goal scorers.
