    2019-20 Rebuild

The heat on Burrows with the Hastie situation is eased massively because we got Turnbull signed up. He’s the player where the compensation we’d have got would be a fraction of the transfer fee we’ll hopefully get this or next summer.
  2. Do the reports that we’ve signed a centre back from Livi suggest we’re either selling Dunne or we’ve realised we won’t be able sign Aldred permanently? Hope not but looks like good forward planning regardless.
  3. I trust we’ll be doing all we can to secure a pre contract for Aldred and extend the contract for Hastie. Hopefully news on both soon. Anyone know how long Ariyibi has left on his Forrest contract?
  4. Lee Erwin is a free agent and linked with Falkirk. Was Robinson who took him to Oldham.
  5. If James Scott has been training well and like a new player as Robinson has said, we need to be giving him a chance in a game like this? Gillespie Tait Aldred Dunne Livingstone Campbell McHugh Grimshaw Turnbull Hastie Scott
  6. Jason Cummings available on loan, might be one we look at.
  7. Think we’d be a good fit for O’Halloran and could allow us to move to 4-3-3.
  8. Having confidence in a goal scorer like McCormack on your side should lift the rest of team as well. Be interesting to see how we line up with him in the team and potentially new additions out wide.
  9. Sensational signing, well done to the club. Seems hiss contract at Villa is up in August 2020. Perhaps they are thinking if he plays and scores up here for a few months another championship club might sign him in the summer.
  10. Hopefully with the noises from the club Hastie, Livingston and Maguire will develop as planned and be players to feature a lot in our first team next season. Would expect any incoming LB or LW to be a 6 month loan deal with that in mind.
  11. Any update on Barry Maguire or Liam Donnelly absences given CB injuries?
  12. McManus is leaving? Would have fancied him to replace Craigan.
  13. Hopefully see Dunne come back in and I’d expect to see Main and possibly Gorrin start to rotate things. We haven’t been great away from home recently, think we might park the bus here and hopefully Johnson or Turnbull can use their quality to nick something.
  14. I hadn’t thought the board could be forced to change the manager this season until yesterday. Results like that are hard to come back from. Still think he’ll get beyond the January window. It would be interesting to consider the wages we’ve spent and how it compares to the wages St Johnstone are paying likes of Kennedy and Watt. Did get the feeling we missed out on quite a few targets in the summer
  15. The squad does provide a lot of options for the diamond formation with so many central midfielders. LB is the only tricky one, could Dunne be the choice for there?
  16. Wonder if Hearts may recall Sammon given their injury crisis ?

    Chrissy Cadden

He’s possibly the only player in the midfield you could describe as a ball carrier or pacey so he’d certainly be a loss. For me he’s a winger, it’s a shame he never really took his chance when he started the season in an advanced central position.
  18. Carson Tait Aldred Hartley Dunne McHugh Rose Cadden Campbell Turnbull Bowman
  19. What surprises me most is Lasley’s involvement. He captained successful Motherwell squads that were small and tight with one or two players of real quality that would make things happen. Given the opportunity with not really any deadwood in the squad but room for additions, after the cup final I fully expected a return to this. That excitement has gone now. Dundee suddenly change their manager, go on a run and it’s a big call to trust Robinson to do what’s required in a tough, tight January market to keep us safe.
  20. Frustrating as squad wise we’re possibly just one or two quality additions away from being able to compete with top six teams? Would have thought the budget would have been there for a Greg Stewart, Tony Watt calibre of signing.
  21. Looking forward to this game on Saturday surprisingly, maybe a cup game is what we need to change our form. Carson Tait Aldred Hartley ATS Campbell McHugh Cadden Bigi Turnbull Main McHugh can sit if ATS pushes forward. Not necessarily our best 11 but for me seems most balanced to go with a back 4.
  22. Agreed. Regarding squad size, could maybe see Ferguson, Newell, Turnbull, Maguire and Scott loaned out. Otherwise don’t see them getting any game time. Taylor-Sinclair is our only option to play left in a back 4 so expect us to stick with wing backs.
  23. Aldred back on loan it would seem.

    Cédric replacement

We tend to play 3-5-2 so where would you play him in that? Johnson looks like he can take balls into his feet and get shots away so would be looking to get someone who can thread passes in where Cadden has been playing.
