    Cédric replacement

I’d be trying Tait RCB for now, Cadden isn’t a number 10 and should go back out wide.
  2. I’d go back to how we finished last season with Tait LWB and Cadden RWB, no signs yet there are better options.
  3. It’s been evident for years that even just one player of genuine quality when they find form by playing regularly at a provincial club it can have a huge impact. Mulumbo at Killie last season for instance. Personally I’d swap Sammon, Johnson and Newell for a Tony Watt, O’Halloran, Greg Stewart or Stokes kind of signing. Sure I remember Lasley actually being quoted in the past recalling the McCall and McGhee teams that he thought it raised his own game and others around him when they knew playing with likes of Ross McCormack or Chris Porter that if you created a chance they’d be likely to stick it away.
  4. This was always due to happen, it’s the injury to Dunne that is a real blow. A back three of Dunne, Hartley and McHugh is decent with Donnelly and Maguire as back up. Hopefully similar bids will come in for Cadden and Carson as well and if we’re able to bring in replacements they’re straight into the team signings.
  5. Thinking the squad has been put together with cover for likes of Carson, Cadden and Bowman and we’re planning that decent bids will come in.
  6. Frear like a new signing, hope he keeps this form up.
  7. 4 new signings on the bench. Can’t help but thinking one or two signings of real quality, straight into the team pedigree would have suited us better this year. Guess competition for places could bring out the best in the team? However with a squad this big I struggle to see 2 things happening that I personally find enjoyable about supporting Motherwell. 1. Opportunities to see youth players break through. 2. A close group of players all confident in each other’s ability and clear on their own role.
  8. Expect this must be a replacement for Bowman. Even checked Robinson’s previous comments about signing a striker with pace that can cover the wings to reassure myself. Hopeful Tanner will be an important player for us this year and can fill the creative void in the team towards the end of the season.
  9. Think we’ll be looking for a striker with pace to exploit the space left playing with wing backs, Simon Murray makes sense I guess but would rather O’Halloran. Dont expect us to sign another keeper with the guy coming back from Airdrie so expect Gillespie will be our number 1 when Carson moves on.
  10. Is there any hope Tanner or Hartley could be back for the final?
  11. Would be surprised if we havent enquired about taking Ben Hall on loan for the season.
  12. Semi against hibs provides a good pay day and fair chance of progressing to final. Who replaces Dunne in defence tomorrow? Hammell? Bowman? McHugh?
  13. Good to see us come out with amended tactics in the second half and completely take control of the game twice this season. Credit to Robinson/Lasley. Interesting to hear Robinson comment after the game that Bigi was challenged to up his intensity to get into team. The trio of Campbell, McHugh and Bigi should start next week now. I'd be keen to keep Tait in the team as well even when Frear returns, not sure how that would look though.
  14. Maybe so, would be good to get an experienced centre half in to replace Heneghan though. Maybe Ben Hall on loan would be more viable?
  15. Will our new striker be playing against Scotland on Friday?
  16. Is he a right back that can also play centre back?
  17. Seems to be more interest in Cadden than Moult? Hopefully if Cadden moves on it would be a £1M+ fee.
  18. That seems good business with the Airdrie moves. Not bothered by the Moult situation. Signing Moult on a three year deal was a great move for us and we're in a good position. He stays and delivers another 18 goals this year, leaving on a free in June. We get a huge offer for him that offsets the dividends due to Wrexham and Les and he moves on now. I'm sure his attitude and application will be first class as always.
  19. Wonder if this had been decided in the close season, whether Las would have continued playing and Mick would have taken on AM role. If the Marvin transfer happens hopefully we can now add a centre half, striker and wide player for the first 11.
  20. I've been impressed by some of St Johnstone, Kilmarnock, Dundee and Thistle's signings this window. Still hopeful we have a credible addition coming in an offensive position...
  21. A team full of players with limited experience in this league having an impact?
  22. Fantastic result, could have a huge impact on confidence amongst the squad.
  23. Disappointed not to see McLean replace Frear. Still hopeful for tonight, good to see Bigirimana back in.
