Also had an impromptu stripper run across the pitch. Drunk Motherwell fan starkers. Social media images are not very flattering 🤣

Was he starkers or pull a Sanders and wander out in his boxers? :D

I get that kits need to change and occasionally ‘mix it up’ but kits like last seasons or the jester kit from the 90s just go too far imo.

That's only your opinion and that really only matters when it comes to your choice to buy, strips change, your fickle we get that.

Our best home kit in years.

Simple, traditional and a full claret hoop. Absolutely love it. After last years shanner it is a breath of fresh air.

I’d imagine the numbers and names will be in white printing given the C&A combination on the back of the top? Unless we use black.

Why do you think they have divisive kits every few years?

Gascoigne is the best player I've ever seen in Scotland but he was absolutely done as a footballer before the end of his Rangers career.

He's no Cooper, but he's up there

One we were linked with I remember was Gazza  . Sure I remember it was quoted we would use some of the gate receipts to fund the deal , was never ever happening .  Ended up at Everton a few weeks later

I have no memory of that, none. weird

  6. The issue with the main stand is that it's layered (built over the previous stand) and they spend a shit ton of money just to keep it open, it's also had Bob and every other builder trying their luck with various improvements, it was well past it's sell by date in the 90's and the window dressing done since then is just that, I doubt much will happen because the costs of refurbishment would run into millions.

I think the dignity with which McGhee handled the events after the tragic death of Phil O’Donnell.

It started dignified until he put the Scotland job into the club's hands.

It felt strange at the time and still stands out to me.

I suppose the best way to describe it is that it felt like a bit of a novelty, even though the result was probably inevitable, which turned out to be the case. Yes there is a degree of excitement about those games, but at the same time I knew that it wouldn’t have any bearing on our league season.

We went on a bit of a run after playing Dortmund, one of our best for years, so of course it had a bearing on the league season.

Definitely this. There is absolutely no reason not to have our club badge on our kits, be that home, away or third kits. The ‘mfc’ lettering just looks cheap and brings the whole jersey down a tone.

The lettering existed before our club crest.

Without wanting to take anything away from the pre war era football it's worth nothing that in Ferguson/MacFadyen era teams lined up with 5 forwards and 2 defenders.

You still had to put the ball in the net, without looking, were games higher scoring? Also per era these guys outperformed others, producing the goods is producing the goods.

Yes I noticed the lack of his name right away.

I was pulling names from memory to compare with Melvin Bragg's list of recent strikers, apologies for missing the obvious, it was late.

    What about Joe McBride?

According to motherwellnet 88 goals in 131 games - Summer Cup and others included, mind.

I never said this was definitive, more of a through the ages glance at forwards we had, tried to include each decade, but I wasn't doing the knowledge, interesting to see the ratios of GPG, if I truly gave a fuck I'd do a deep dive and look at percentage of team goals for each season and total goals scored, but I'm on holiday so, martinis for breakfast it is.

Wow, just post negativity are you MJC in disguise, 2 years out of 60 we didn't find one, still think its no a bad list of goalscorers between Sinjy and Kvv.

That's not negative, that's facts, we were rotten, have had rotten seasons even with decent returns from strikers, to return to your point, we don't 'ALWAYS' find strikers, we have purple patches, probably more than we statistically should have. And no, I'm not MJC, I don't believe in fairy tales.
