  1. The Ancell babes were the team I grew up with. I seem to recollect John Martis was always giving away own goals, but that might just be my age . I was at the 9-3 drubbing of Flamengo, also at the 7-0 against Leeds and 5-2 against Eintracht. Ah, great days......
  2. You know what they say about verbal agreements, they're not worth the paper they're written on.
  3. Polish refs withdraw From the Herald.
  4. You're absolutely right of course, but I think the point of the post was the hypocrisy being shown by a church who's leader is 'infallible', trying to keep covered up the sins of the priesthood. Double standards in my opinion. You didn't tell us whether or not you were RC
  5. Maybe if the catholic church wasn't so steeped in child abuse, and maybe if the present pope in a former position in the church hadn't written a letter telling the Irish church to keep the problem of child abuse within the church and not to let it become a civil matter, then there wouldn't have been the picture that there was. The catholic church and celtic are so steeped in hypocrisy, they can't see the wood for the trees. PS, I'm not an rc either.
  6. Not in the same season I would imagine
  7. Cheers for that. This must be the site I was told about. As an old maths teacher I used to have would say "there's always somebody knows these things"
  8. My grandfather was a former player for Motherwell and I've been informed his name appears on a list of former players 'somewhere' online. So far i've not been able to locate this list. With some help from fatcalf, he has confirmed he played about 22 games for the club season 1908/1909. His name was Archibald Buttery, but was known as Baaldy Buttery. If anybody could come up with any information about him, that would be great.
  9. Have you ever considered people may have to spend their money on more important things than watching football on a reegular basis
  10. You're in no position to criticise any one, you didn't show much enthusiasm for supporting the team that night. I could have witnessed history.................but I was a fud and left at 6-2!!!!
  11. That'll certainly encourage them to come back. Until you know a persons circumstances don't make stupid comments.
  12. Or should that be 'Poopsie'!!

  13. We're both having our profiles eyeballed on the same days...at the same times...if he wore a burka I would be worried.
