  1. You could toss a coin between Butcher and Casey. Maybe a bit harsh on Butcher since he's been out for so long. Casey however has been abysmal lately.
  2. I would seriously doubt that Butcher has the pace or tenacity required to play that role anymore. Probably why he's now played at centre half these days.
  3. I've no clue why he starts O'Donnell. Slow as a week in the jail and ineffective going forward. His attempted deliveries from a wide position are nothing short of garbage. Why we don't start with Spencer on the right and Gent in the left is a mystery to me. Another one is Kelly. Another poor performance. We need a 6 foot plus goalie that's going to dominate his 6 yarder at the very least and that can instill some confidence in his back line.
  4. Even you know that's not true. I listened myself. Kettlewell can't be held 100% responsible when a defender is beat in the air and when his no 1 goalkeeper is a complete shitebag in his own 6 yard box. At no time did he avoid responsibly. Hearts bossed us from the first kick to the last. Played simple but effective passes in what was a very good performance from them by their own fans admission on Radio Scotland.
  5. Just watched the highlights. The cross from Gent and the movement of Mika to get in front of the defender for the equaliser was top class. The former has to be nailed on to start at the weekend surely.
  6. Gent gave us the width we lacked all game and has a good delivery in him. Thought Bair improved us also but it looked like he missed a two yard sitter.
  7. Kelly's been under scrutiny for months. Both Slattery and Spittal started the season well but their form has gone off a cliff in the last 2 months. When that happens there should be replacements waiting to take their chance.
  8. Pish. Slot that across to Bair and he's got tap in (hopefully)
  9. Half hearted from Spittal again. We clearly haven't anyone to replace him
  10. That may be true but he offers very little, especially going forward. We have the pace and dynamism of Spencer on one side and O'Donnell running through quicksand on the other coupled with the fact his passing is woeful.
  11. We've turned into a hoofball team again. Devoid of ideas and confidence. Blaney, Casey, Spittal, Slattery and Kelly to a degree awful for weeks. Don't start me on O'Donnell, Gent must be wondering what he's done to Kettlewell to not get in this team.
  12. Aimless lumps up the park, a midfield short of confidence and numbers and a goalkeeper going though a mini crisis. We're in deep shtook I'm afraid.
  13. Any result will do. Preferably with a clean sheet.
  14. Painful viewing tonight. Our midfield was overrun from the first minute. Slattery was atrocious and could have been hooked anytime in the first half. Spittal is one of our best players but he's been off the boil for weeks now. Our midfield that served us well has now been well and truly found out. The fact that Kettlewell can't pick a settled forward line tells it's own story, it's like striker roulette every week. We desperately need to get Mika fit to start and quick.
  15. Casey for coming closest to scoring all day. Kelly should have done better at their first imo. Should be dominating his 6 yard box better.
  16. Said I'd take a point today at a tough venue but the sending off coupled with us being generally poor in all areas saw us lose the game. A bit of perspective required in that yes we've lost 4 but 2 against the OF and 1 against a St Mirren side who are having the season of their lives. Today was the only game where I've been genuinely disappointed by our performance. The break will do us good, we've had a tough few weeks and could really do with some bodies back to give us a fresh impetus. Miller will be a huge miss in 2 weeks time but it will hopefully give Kettlewell the opportunity to go with 2 up front for a change.
  17. His job is to provide knock-downs for Spittal and Slattery. That much is obvious at this stage. The issue with playing with an out and out striker is that he will probably need the support that Bair supplies thus sacrificing a midfielder.
  18. We've looked instantly better in the last 15 minutes with this forward pairing. Slattery and Paton have been good as has Mugabi again. The changes have just come too late or there I say the wrong lineup to begin with?
  19. Agreed. Spittal has been awful and Bair anonymous.
