  1. but what about the sporting integrity? we'll do what we have to to survive again and if we lose a few fans then who cares...!! we're better off without those who would happily see the club in financial difficulties or withdraw their support on a whim.
  2. there was an spl vote scheduled on newco share transfer. society members were balloted on which way the club should vote. in what way is that a sham?
  3. the juniors rejigged their entire league structure for the benefit of the bigger clubs not too long ago. getting a ten point deduction and demoted to the first divsion is punishment, a lot of people might not think it's enough punishment but it is a punishment. where was your indignation when we got away with being in admin and finishing bottom without even a slap on the wrist? and obviously i think scottish football is great. i wouldn't go to 40 odd games a season if i didn't.
  4. scottish junior football being held up as a shining beacon of honesty and integrity. never thought i'd see the day
  5. they are still sfa members which makes them a club.
  6. rangers are still one of the 12 clubs in the league.
  7. it looks a pretty good deal for the sfl clubs. the three play off places will make a huge difference to the likes of partick, raith and morton.
  8. he turned up in time for lunch.
  9. motherwelltaxcase. you read it here first.
  10. i've just realised your avatar isn't actually higdon
  11. when he first came into the team he was immense at centreback. we had clean sheets against rangers, celtic, dundee united, aberdeen and hearts with saunders at centre half. since gannon left he has only played there a few times by my reckoning. the 3-3 game at ibrox, the 1-0 win at killie on a sunday and the win over hearts on a sunday last august.
  12. if it was that easy why hasn't mad vlad done it instead of paying a king's ransom to david obua? because it can't be done. there is a difference between a fixed term contract and an ordinary contract, footballers can't exactly give notice can they? mcfadden is a multi millionaire! quinn and clarkson might not have played much but they will have been earning a small fortune. reynolds is supposedly up to ten grand a week without kicking a ball. the wages of randolph, hateley, hutchinson, saunders, law, jennings, murphy and ojaama will all be going up rather than down the next time they sign a contract.
  13. the cost of stewarding is overstated as well. there is no chance we spend 40 times the amount on stewarding and policing when the old firm bring 4000 than we do when ICT bring 100.
  14. there is no chance we can do that, the players are on fixed term contracts. it's a stupid idea anyway. the majority of squad are worth what we are paying them and a good number of them willing be getting paid significantly more when they move down south next summer.
  15. do we really want people who would abandon their club during it's darkest hour?
  16. clancy did alright for us but we'd have been better off giving page the opportunity imo. he did well in his starts at the end of the season and looks like he can contribute. hutchy and saunders should be the first choice pairing with page as back up. we also have cummins who did well on his debut and euan murray who has been in the scotland age group teams. bringing in a guy who at best will be a par player when we could be developing better players is a waste of time and money imo. also i don't understand why mccall is so keen to bring in so many players that got him the bullet at valley parade. very strange.
  17. brian mclean got injured on the 2nd austria trip i think. we played a romanian team doing their preseason in scotland in 2008. burn_broomfield and myself went up to dalziel park to watch the game on a saturday afternoon only to be informed the game was finished and was played at bellshill's park
  18. steve jones. law has been a great signing but mccall hasn't handled him too well. he spent a large part of the season trying to change a dangerous winger into a centre mid playmaker and it didn't work. it's pretty obvious law is his favourite and he even gets a hard time from the other player's on twitter for being the gaffer's pet. omar is a bad joke but mccall still chose to give him a two year contract despite the fact that there wasn't one other team in for him and he is a very inconsistent player. that deal was clearly based more on sentimentality than reason and we can't afford that with our budget. this guy is 31 in december, has never played above league two and has only managed 20 games out of 104 for his club over the past two seasons. not the sort of player we should be looking at.
  19. because 2 out of the 3 signings he has made from his old club have been duds and he doesn't seem to have any sort of objectivity when it comes to his old boys. we've got 5 centre halfs at the club already and i'd be quite happy to go with them next season.
  20. any chance of signing anyone who hasn't played for bradford?
  21. we can probably look forward to a few more televised games than usual next season. you would imagine without rangers in the league our fixtures against the likes of hibs, united and hearts will be high on the list of games that sky and espn want.
  22. if this was anyone else i'd assume it was a piss take.
  23. just pointing out that even if we replace jenno there is a decent chance we will sign a dud. omar might up his game this season but it's more likely he'll continue to contribute fuck all and take up a wage.
  24. he had a couple of difficult years but he came into the team very young and burned out. he was our player of the year in each of his final two seasons and had a decent goal scoring record in both of them.
