  1. Didnae really impress, ran about like a headless chicken at times, but maybe come good. Lawless was played right midfield, fitzy & forbes middle and pollock left. Lawless has been playing right midfield for albion rovers. Brown wants him to cut inside with his left foot. Played well. Was subbed at half time for innes. No chance, maybe 3 out of 4.
  2. I left with 20mins to go, but he started and was still on when i left. He played ok. Some 1st teamers, but didnt take much notice of st minging.
  3. The team that played today was Hollis, Paige, Hutchy, Saunders and Charalambous, Lawless, Fitzy, Pollock, Forbes Gow and McHugh. There wasn`t much in it between both teams, but it still hurts seeing a well team get beat.

Update on Steven Meechan is that he may have broken a bone in his foot.

Halsman had a really good game yesterday and seems to be getting real benefits from playing every week. The 3 guys at Albion are also doing fine, Innes injured his hamstring against East stirling, which was a real shame, cos he was starting to get regular football and was playing well, meechan started against east stirling , but at right back. This was the boys first start, had a shaky start but played well especially for being played in a strange position. he came on yesterday as a sub but was later injured. He kicked someone studs and should be fine. Lawless has been played in all the games and has done well. he had a quiet game yesterday. all the boys should really benefit from the games there getting.

100% right mate, but they all will still train full time at FP, but are not going to get any game time. The main reasons are to keep them match fit and hopefully toughen them up. As you have said the biggest loss to the scottish game for these youngsters is the reserve league/under21 folding. The last thing the club can afford is for these guys to be sitting on their rear ends in the stand for a year or 2.

    Future Manager

I would like to see Gordon Young getting more involved and hopefully learn from AK & CB. Let CB step up and bring in Youngy next year. In my opinion he would be the ideal person for our youngsters, and his teams play really good passing football, plus he already knows all the youngsters for years.

Both loanees played in a friendly last night for Annan. Halsman at left back and Lawless in midfield. Both had impressive games with Lawless scoring 2 and setting 4 up. Hopefully both will be back all the better from their loans and add to an impressive group of youngsters fighting for first team games.
  12. All booze is banned on all buses, but theres ways around rules like that.
  13. For anyone interested, there`s a bus that runs from hamilton bus station to Ayr every hour. It only stops at Kilmarnock and then right into the Ayr bus station 55mins. and only £12 return
  14. Pleasure speaking today postie. Hopefully meet up at Fir Park in the future. G.
  15. Would just like to say a massive big thank you to all the boys. This season they have been brilliant. Started the season flying, then baw bag Gannon puts his tuppence into the way the team should play, and we lose 6 in a row, bye bye gannon and we have only lost once since December. They have played some of the best football i have seen from a youth team, and were by far the best footballing team this year. The first halve today was outstanding football, and it all looks really good for the next 3-4 years for the 1st team. Good luck to all the boys, really sad seeing the team split up now after 6yrs together, but hopefully they all become 1st team regulars
  16. Steven Lawless.... Metatarsal break 12 yrs old, Double leg break - aged 14 & his toe at 17, so both of you are right.
  17. Well done to the 5 lads, and also the 2 others already signed....... http://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/index.php?op...&Itemid=133 Well deserved. PS. youth game seemingly switched to Shotts tomorrow.
  18. Best strike force in the league. 23 or 24 goals between both of them this year so far. Well done lads, keep it up.
  19. After tomorrow they only have 1 game away, so quite a few games at home left. Do not know why the games are not played sundays. Friday/Sat are the the days the games are meant to be, but if cancelled,, then some midweek games are played. Hopefully we will be watching a few of them in the 1st team over the next 18months.
  20. W. Falconer is now involved with the agent side of things, but goes to a lot of our 19s, cos he was assistant to Youngy and had been with that team for quite a few yrs. The game is at stirling tomorrow with a 12 o`clock kick off. As for youngy and style of man management..he is brilliant with the boys. He has had some of this team for 4yrs. Very funny guy at times, is hard when he needs to be, but in all the time i have known him, i could count in 1 hand the amount of times i have seen him lose his head with the boys. Totally agree with your comment about the attitude of other teams coaches. Nothing serious (i hope) with hospital. Cheers
  21. Sorry couldn`t make it Finlay,(admitted into hospital) but hopefully will meet up at a game. The 3 guys you speak of are no.6 was Stephen Meechan, no.10 was Jamie Pollock and no.11 was Steven Lawless (3 scottish under 19`s) 3 excellent players, but as you say there are a lot of positives about our 19`s. So hopefully a great future for the Well.
  22. No probs mate. Good to see you there.
  23. The final score was 3-0, and there are no problems watching at Creamery Park. It would be good to see as many as possible for this game. If they win it they are right up there for the title. Don`t think Slane will play in their team, he is in the reserve team. At the moment there are about 5-6 players looking to go forward to the 1st team squad next year. Some of them will probably go out on loan for a season. So yes there a number of really good prospects coming through. Well done to the boys today, keep it up. Mon The Well
