  1. I know what your saying RM, and the way i see it, and i could be wrong, but 1 of the reasons is, we as a club cannot afford to give our youngsters 4-5yr contracts, so a lot of the time the youngsters are in their final yr of their contracts before we start contract talks with them. This leaves the door open for other clubs to come in and hold our club to ransom.( For example, there are 4-5 under 19`s at the moment with only 3months left on their contracts) and there are other teams starting take interest. I understand we cannot give all our promising youngsters 4-5 yr contracts but i think we should at least be offering them something at least before other teams can talk to them. (ie. minimum 6 months before contract ends).
  2. 3-2 to the Well. Great comeback 2-0 down at one stage. Scrappy game, but just deserved the victory. Well done lads.
  3. Shouldn`t see why it wouldn`t be open to the public del. Maybe they will charge a £ or 2 to get in. I`ll be there.
  4. Under 19`s v Hibs...today 5-2 to the well. Well done boys.

    Herts Away

The boy Mclinchy (think that`s how it spelt) ex celtic and now playing for new zealand is looking for a scottish club for a 4-5month loan, to keep him fit for world cup.

    New Manager

Leitchy loves the club and knows all the boys that can do a job for the club. Yes we maybe lose the loan players, but we need someone to come in and work with zero cash. So we will need to rely on our youth and Leitchy has worked with them all. It`s time to get a bit of stability at the club, and for everyone to pull together. whoever comes in MUST have all the support behind them, right from the start. Mon The Well

Scott Leitch..........Knows the club inside out. Was in at FP just before xmas.
  8. This is taken from another site. Theses reptiles are unbelievable. Taken from CelticTrust website: Quote: 14/12/2009 thomas I’m sorry this is the last straw for me ! Once again Aiden McGeady is racially abused and the police and stewards stand by and do nothing . On or there abouts 17th minute of the Saturdays game a section of the Motherwell fans situated to right hand side of the celtic support found in there intolerable ignorance to chant to Aiden McGeady your in the wrong F****N country ! ! Yes I do have to repeat it because I have had enough of this. If 50 or so people were to stand on any other street and repeat such a vile chant to any other person of any nationality they would be arrested and charge with a racist breach of the peace but not Motherwell fans ! who bye the way have previous for this sort of thing. Therefore I have brought my feelings to the attention of the trust secretary and the chair with the hope of taking this matter further. Am I the only one who has had enough of this? 15/12/2009 Bob Storrar Thomas, couldn't agree with you more. There's a hard core of anti Celtic/Irish followers of Motherwell that has existed as long as I've followed The Hoops. I wonder what treatment Govan born Tommy Coyne got, who, while playing for their club was an Eire Internationalist scoring for the Republic. One of the Z list celebrities Tam Cowan makes no bones about his exhileration when they beat us allowing the H's to clinch the title. Anti Catholic/Irish sectarianism is alive and kicking in Bonnie Scotland. In a couple of weeks they'll be singing, "Come in come in it's nice tae see ye" "slong is yer no a Tim. Keep the Faith 16/12/2009 thomas Thanks Bob for your support , I do believe that the trust secretary is in the process of drafting a letter to send to the commanding police officer who was in charge of the game and show racism the red card for there response. I have also made it now my mission to get answers to this sort of racism no matter which football ground it happens in the future especially if the police take no action.
  9. Evening Chris...How many of our young talent have you tried to poach, and when will you take NO for an answer?
  10. Seen this boy play against scotland the 2 games and he is an athlete with speed and built like a brick s88t hoose. For his first goal against scotland he ran through 4 or 5 players as if they weren`t there. Saunders & Danny Wilson from Rangers both had nightmares against the boy. Motherwell could do a lot worse than this boy. I say sign him quick before somebody else does.

    Under 19,s

Didn`t help with a t osser of a ref. Wrong man booked for a foul, so he tells the ref what he thinks of him and the ref sends him off. Totally agree with the team hitting the skids lately. They need to get their act together soon.
  12. Bad day for the boys. An even 1st half with 2 chances (1 for each team) they took theirs, which was a free header from a free kick, and we missed ours, a 1 on 1 with their keeper. The well were also denied a penalty (no surprise there). 2nd half we equalised first 2mins with a Steven Meechan thunder bolt. Next 20 min we hammered them and missed a few chances before they scored their second. After that the heads went down and the goals rained in. Don`t know about the boys that were playing, but the fans that ventured out in that weather deserve a medal. From the 1st min tpo the last it poured down.
  13. It`s hard to criticise chris mcCart , because he`s only doing his job, but if it`s true that they have had bids rejected, then take no for an answer and leave the boy alone. Let them pay through the nose for him in about 3yrs, but hopefully he goes down south to bigger things. Steven Lawless ...1 to watch next year. But need to get him signed up first.
  14. Right guys, lets bring this into real world. This is a 17yr old that has been with MFC for over 5yrs @ youth level & about 1 yr in first team. Has been highly thought of at the club for that time. He Is one of the fastest players in the SPL and is having a few problems with his calfs. He was never injury prone in the youths. In my opinion the step up to the 1st team training /set -up has taken it`s toll. On the celtic thing. He has never personally stated he wanted to sign for them. What i will say is that, out of the current 19`s squad, there are very few MFC supporters, but everyone of them give 100% for the team and the club. When they play against the team that they support, they give even more (if that is possible) to try and impress. This even applies to the 1st team. In my opinion paul will sign another contract and we see what he can really do in the spl. The most ironic thing about all this celtic thing is, that it`s a certain Mr McCart that is trying to steal paul away from FP. Get fit soon Paul.
  15. And with McHugh, Saunders & Slane all still eligible for the 19`s this year, they could be even better.
  16. Dundee Utd v Well 19`s. Sat 12 o`clock kick off @ St Andrews Uni. The next 3 games(Utd, Hibs & Celtic) should give the lads a great chance to prove, that they can win the league this year. Good Luck to the boys. Mon The Well!!!
  17. 2 or 3 of them knocking on the 1st team door now. Meechan,Lawless & Pollock are close to it. Great start to the season for the boys, hope they keep it going.

  19. Well 19`s v rangers 19`s @ Bathgate (creamery park) Friday 18th 1.30pm kick off. Nice easy game to get us back on track Mon The Well!!!

    Paul Slane

Slane should be out for 3-4weeks.

    Man Utd

We also had our 5 so-called best 19`s missing today, mchugh, slane, saunders, meechan & lawless. It would have been really interesting to have played our 19`s against them today, but as stated previously, at least we have 1 of the best youth systems and it is beginning to show. great showing from all the boys today.
  22. 5 Well players named in the squad to face Iceland. Slane, Saunders, McHugh, Meechan & Lawless. Well done to all the boys. Mon the Well!!!
  23. Game finished 6-1. Scorers ..Meechan 2, Lawless 2, Quinn 1 & the young boy who came on was Chris Cullen (man utd/North Ire.) who scored the other goal. Good performance from the boys, starting to gel well together but i think we will meet a lot harder teams than St.Johnstone and Kilmarnock this year.
