That guy on the line looks like a cardboard cutout

The wee ‘guy’ on the line is Celtic and Scotland winger Jimmy Johnstone. In the olden days prior to photoshop, images were enhanced/retouched with a steady hand, photo dyes and a size 0 artist paint brush. Whoever, worked on this image was obviously short on time. :) It’s a skill that I learnt in the early 80s, when working in a busy advertising/design studio, however, these days this old school technique is rarely used. When over done like this one, a retouched figure can look a little like a cardboard cutout, however, when the images were dot screened in the newspaper, the retouching would have looked less noticeable.

A long shot, however, I am trying to locate a decent or reasonably decent image of our late 50s early 60s white away top. Does anyone have one or know where I can source one?

This is us wearing it in a pre season team shot (the white top with the claret crew neck with the bold claret V insert), however, I am looking for a more individual image (action or posed). The shirt was long sleeved, however, on this particular image the players have rolled the sleeves up.

Striker John Goldthorp playing at the Fir Park that I remember as a boy. He scored the winner in a Texaco Cup match against a team who just happened to have worlds greatest goalkeeper Gordon Banks between the sticks. For that moment alone, he will always be a Motherwell legend.

My mother's favourite player apparently.

Also, looking at that photo of Joe McBride, is Jamie Carragher related to him..?
