Appreciate the feedback on this and apologies for any inconvenience on behalf of the Well Society.

At the risk of sounding like a complete cop out, I've had very little to do with the Share Sale beyond the original discussions & planning stages (I can assure you that the Share Sale was treated as a project) and I'm often the only Society Board member who makes use of the forums on a regular basis, so I don't have an immediate response for you.

However, I will circulate your post in full with the rest of the Society Board this afternoon.

Just to point out that Society Co-Chair Douglas Dickie is now in contact with coldonmac directly on this, just in case anyone thinks I've replied and then patched it!

Another four new members...

New Recruits Join the Well Society

During the January transfer window, the club added four new recruits to the squad. Not only have they settled in well, making a positive impact on the field in the process, but they have also now decided to support fan-ownership by joining the Well Society.

Earlier in the season, all of the first-team squad joined the Society in a well-received show of support. Now Curtis Main, Nadir Ciftci, Stephen Hendrie and Tom Aldred have all signed up to monthly pledges to show their commitment to the club.

The ‘Well’s new number nine Curtis Main said:

“We are delighted to join the Well Society. Since our arrival, everyone at the club and in the community has really welcomed us in and we want to show our appreciation and play our part on and off the field.”

We invited members Heather McDonald and Brian Closs to meet the new players and welcome them into the Well Society.

Afterwards, Brian said:

“It was a great honour to meet the new guys as they joined the Well Society. There is a real feeling of togetherness around the club at the moment under fan-ownership and hopefully that can push us on to finish the season strongly.”

With now close to 2,400 members the Well Society is continuing to grow – the more members we can recruit the more we can support and invest in Motherwell Football Club both on and off the field.

If you haven’t already, you can join now and become one of the club’s owners from as little as £5 per month.

From the latest Well Society newsletter..almost £200k wiped off our debt in 2017 thanks to pledges.

Well Society Newsletter 23/2/2018

Double Your Money Campaign

We are delighted to announce that during the year of 2017 the Well Society raised £193,719.37 through pledges, donations, events, shares, and auctions - a fantastic amount raised by the Motherwell support which allows fan-ownership to succeed.

This sum includes £41,226.50 raised from the Share Sale launched in November which received a fantastic response. Additionally, this also includes £1490.49 raised from our Fundraising Auctions which have been taking place throughout the year.
With Les Hutchison’s Double your Money initiative, this amount is even more significant as Les Hutchison has generously agreed to write off the same amount from his loan to the Club. This, of course, means that your support has made even more of an impact on the Club’s financial position, allowing almost £200,000 to be written off!

As you may be aware, Mr Hutchison has kindly agreed to continue the Double Your Money offer for another year so again we would encourage all ‘Well fans to continue to support in whatever way you can. It’s up to us to raise even more in the next twelve months!

Pretty impressive I'd say.  Does anyone know though how much is currently owed to Les and John Boyle?

Have we raised 200,000 and Les has doubled it or have we raised 100,000 and Les has doubled it to 200?

The Society activities raised £200k. Per his offer, Les has reduced what the club owes him by the same amount, effectively doubling the amount raised.

As numpty says, the Society has raised just under £200,000 over 2017 which now means that total being written off of Les's debt.

It's a good sum for a club of our size to have raised and managing to wipe almost £200,000 off of the debt is a great step forward, but the challenge now is to raise even more in 2018 after Les agreed to extend the deal for another year.

That shirt though ....

Terrible attire for the day - nipped over from work at lunchtime last week fully expecting to be filming indoors. There's a reason Craig is looking toasty in a padded, blue parka and I have a bright red nose and ears...

One for the Exiles...

At the beginning of the season we launched our Exiles Club, an initiative with the aim of connecting ‘Well fans all over the world who can’t make it to Fir Park on a regular basis.

The Club has already been a success, with around 50 Steelmen signing up from the likes of Denmark, the United States, Canada, South Africa and Australia to name a few.

With a considerable number of ‘Well fans deciding to make the trip home for the Scottish Cup Final, we have decided to make the trip even more memorable by inviting Exiles Club members along to a special “Welcome Home” at Fir Park on the day before the match, including a tour of the stadium.

We are delighted to announce our special guest for the day will be ‘91 Cup Final hero and Exiles Club Ambassador Ally Maxwell who will be making the long trip home from Arizona for the game!

If you are a Well Society Exiles Club member and want to join us on May 18th  (1pm-3pm) at Fir Park please drop us an email at: well.society@motherwellfc.co.uk

Have the Well Society considered any partnerships like this Fansbet one that helped Shrewsbury fund their safe standing area?  From what I know, Fans Bet is an online gambling company which links to clubs and to fund supporter projects with 50% of their net profits.

Just a few things that folk may have missed recently (although all members should receive the newsletter every Friday keeping them up to date, if you don't you may have unsubscribed in the past or are receiving it to junk mail - if the former, give Craig a shout at the WS):

Does anyone know what  age does Junior Steel end and they have to become a senior 1 and if you set up a new monthly standing order do u keep same membership number ?

Membership-related questions like this would be better put to Craig Hughes, he can be e-mailed at craig.hughes@motherwellfc.co.uk.
