Really ? I think we're still shy of a few: Keeper, 2 x forwards, at least.

If we bring in 2 forwards, it's only going to stunt the progress of McHugh, Erwin and Moore. For me, priority has to be finding guys to supply the strikers we have...

If we now could get Faddy to sign, I think I would then be happy to go into the season with the squad.

Not perfect, but it would do for starters...

From last seasons squad so far we've lost;

Randolph

Hateley

Saunders

Law

Higgingbotham

Faddy

Humphrey

Daley

Higdon

Ojamma.

We've replaced all of these players with Sutton, Vigurs and Lawson, and promoted Murray, Moore and Erwin from the reserve squad. We badly need players and attacking ones at that, there is no way that McCall will be happy with his squad if he only signs McFadden bewteen now and our 1st match.

While it's technically correct I don't think it's fair to include Faddy in this list. We lost Murphy and replaced with Higginbotham, Faddy was an extravagance (and a very good one at that). I agree with others above and think we need at least three more in the squad.

Would like a keeper if only to keep Hollis on his toes. As it is at the minute, we're a player or two short of a good starting eleven. Maybe only one if we're going 442 but I suspect that McCall would like to go with a similar 4231 shape that he used last season..

I was expecting Gunnar to sign though.

True, but at the same time more than once has that same course of action appeared sufficient enough for some in the media to claim they have "covered" a Motherwell story.

I'm still a little surprised if we do have a presser just to unveil Sutton again but the more that keeps our name in a positive limelight the better as far as I'm concerned can only be a good thing.

I'm pretty the real reason the press would be interested in speaking with Sutton would be to get his take on the Hearts sags.

Despite having done an unbelievable job for us so far I will admit I had the fear a bit about mccalls ability to rebuild the squad. Some cracking signings so far and although there's a few more to be added him and the staff have to be applauded for a great job so far this summer. If we can get McManus that'll be an awesome signing.

Controversial I know but I wouldn't mind one bit the kris boyd rumour to be true, especially if he could find his Rangers form...

Will Kerr be our first choice right back? If so I'm slightly concerned about that. He needs to improve on last seasons performances, that's for sure.

As far as I'm concerned we are still looking for 4 first team players to be competitive next season and one of those positions is right back.

And you weren't wrong judging by the snippet on Radio Scotland News which was wholly devoted to his time with and exit from Hearts.

I have doubts about Ramsden at right back, does he have the mobility to get up and down. Not saying he couldn't do a job but reckon he's limited.

Kerr is fairly quick at least and I'd rather see him get a run to be honest. Heart probably in mouth as reckon there is plenty reason to be concerned about whether he up to the job week in week out, but he a player to be developed hopefully.

I like Ramsden and think Kerr will develop into a good player but I wouldn't be keen on either being 1st choice right back.

Ramsden is a steady eddie who would be a fine right back defensively. Only concern would be a lack of attacking threat. Could live with that if it means more defensive solidity...

Just been looking at Gunnar Nielsen's stats. He's only played 14 first team games in his career. Anyone concerned about that? Goalkeeper is a pretty specialised position, so the majority of them don't play first team football.

Not saying this as a criticism of him. Just strikes me that if you add Nielsen's and Hollis' career appearances together, you don't get as high as 50...

I unearthed an old box of programmes at the weekend. The home game v Nancy we had John Sutton and Gunnar Neilsen on the bench.

Just saying likes.........

I think you can discount the years he spent at Man City as he was never getting in their 1st team.

Saw a video clip of him in a game for the Faroes v Germany. Looked impressive. They still got beat 3 or 4-0, but big Gunnar stopped it from being 10+ nil. He looks tall and gangly like De Gea. Could prove to be a star. Probably best we can afford...

If you look at both Ruddy and Randolphs careers over 6 years or so prior to them coming to us, neither of them had much top class first team action in that period! Any keeper playing consistently at a decent level would be out of our price range so am happy if we find another gem we can take to the next level yes.gif

Fancy big Gunnar will be a good addition. Randolph was the best we'd had in the 20 odd years I've been a fan so, although it will inevitably happen, folk should try and not compare him to every keeper which proceeds. The last four years were a golden time for us and keepers, not likely to be repeated for a while.

Every time I saw Craig Moore for the 20's last year, he either scored or created a goal. He looks the real deal to me, would give him a chance in pre-season to stake a claim. Could save us a fair bit of cash and surely one of our own coming through would be more enjoyable to see than a journeyman pro with little affinity for the club in his place.

If neither him or Bob impress then a loan striker from down south would probably be the way to go, whilst they continue their development coming on from the bench.
