Judging by the profile on wikopedia ( for what it'sworth ) he might be a good prospect as you say. Seems like people feel he has the talent so needs the right environment or coaching, mentor, kick up the ass or whatever to improve. maybe another Ojaama ? McCall does seem to have a knack for getting the best out of players. However, having said that it comes down to the player in the end and if he really wants to get better or not. Sounds like a gamble and McCall will have to weight that up. We did'nt bet much on Ojaama and got a great return for the money plus some great benefit to the team.

But somehow "Silva the portugese winger" is more appealing than "Jack Smith from Airdrie"

He was supposedly the next Vaz Te after we turned his career around, but from the noises coming out of the club he just wasn't interested, didn't want to train and knuckle down. We ended up sending him out on loan to Dagenham & Redbridge before releasing him.

mfc twitter says its his hamstring

Hope it was precautionary rather than out for a few weeks . He just walked off the pitch, then had treatment for about 10 -15 mins. He walked round the pitch second half and watched game so not sure what the status is.

Great free kick from Boab and decent goal from the Captain. Apart from that pretty tame game and fairly quiet compared to Morecambe.

Went up to game today, great atmosphere in our end.

Performance not great, played long ball most of the time. Is McCall trying out the tactics he's planning to deploy v the Russians?

Don't fancy the big Portugese boy much, never really got involved in the game & lost the ball a few times easily.

Estonian ran all day but not sure he would add much to the team. Scored the 1st but then missed an easy chance to make it 2-0.

Enjoyable day even though was sober as I was driving!

Got to be honest, don't know which 1 he was so can't really comment. There were a few players out there I didn't recognise, don't know who were youth players & who were trialists.

Only worked out who the Portuguese guy was from seeing the posts on here. Actually heard a young boy ask if it was Chris Humphrey blink.gif

Oops, got it wrong then. I know who Zaine is, thought he played well today actually.

It was the big French guy I didn't fancy then!

Hard to judge on 1 game to be fair to him, & the others.

Fans were great today, a bit boisterous outside the kings arms before the game which brought the old bill round who misread it at first trying to be a bit heavy handed but then realised everyone was just having a laugh and they seemed happy to just stand by and have a chat to people.

Good day all in although hope those who were waiting on the train from Morecambe that was cancelled got home ok.

Sounds like it was top notch at Morecambe. A little more sedate at Central Park, so much so you could hear both Faddy and Lasley giving a little back chat to the Cowden fan who liked the sound of his own voice a little too much.

Mind you, he got his comeuppance in the second half when his timing was as poor as it could possibly get. He yelled another pop at Lasley about the penalty he won in the first half about a mili-second before Las popped one in from the edge of the box, cue the 50 or 60 Dossers around that part of the terracing giving him some serious mocking. Amusing.

As for the game itself we controlled it and were generally on top of things for the best part although the scoreline could be considered quite flattering in the end.

Three really good goals, the a nice run and lovely finish from Thomas. McHugh's free-kick was as sweet as it was unexpected and Lasley took his goal very well also.

Enjoyed the opportunity to see some of the guys from JJ's squad who I don't get to see too often. Thought Euan Murray in particular strolled through the game at centre-half but several of them looked perfectly at ease against First Division opposition.

Shame Faddy didn't get more of the game, but the precautionary action taken, going by one of Flow's tweets this evening suggests it has prevented a possible injury.

Fantastic day down in Morecambe, game wasn't the worst I've ever seen but to be part of the 90 minutes of chanting was an absolute pleasure, once again the fans were a credit to the club. Heard chat that a few Morecambe fans were planning on coming up to a home game because of the atmosphere today.

Nice enough place, and the locals, just like the old bill were a bit weary to start with but were quickly turned when they got chatting to 'Well fans. Very nice to have a pint at half time as well, can imagine it would go down very well at FP, especially the Friday night games.

As for the game, ZFA again was a stand-out, I think he could be a vital player for us this season, possibly from left mid. Didn't think too much of the trialists apart from the Estonian boy, who again put in a good shift and who the Morecambe fans thought was MOTM by miles. Gunnar a bit unlucky with the deflected goal, McManus wasn't great and probably cost us the goal but with another few games in a settled defence I think he'll do just fine. Rest of the team were fine, nothing spectacular.

Definitely a cracking day down at Morecambe, the police outside the Kings Arms were okay. According to what I heard in the pub they came in response to a driver who called about the flare set off outside the Kings Arms. The lads were boisterous and kept the singing going but there was no real trouble.

Hell of a bloody trek to the ground from there though, thankfully there was a smashing wee pub just at the stadium. A good pint of Cumberland Ale soon recharged the batteries. I've seen worse pre-season matches but as I never expected a classic I wasn't going to be disappointed anyway. It was about the experience and the 'Well fans certainly made it a good one. For me ZFA, and the No.11 stuck out for Motherwell. Didn't rate the No. 7 in the first half and felt the No. 14 while putting in a lot of work seemed like a headless chicken most fo the time. Still I bet that head security man was glad to see the back of us.

More than okay, got taxis to Lancaster, obviously missed ours but got next one. The guard escorted us into First Class to keep us together then I asked for his next trick could he stop at Motherwell, he duly obliged cos there were about 50 of us all heading into Glasgow unnecessarily. Can't ask for better service than that. And we got to use the fridge for our beers Go Virgin Trains

The Well bois were certainly missed down in Doncaster it was the first game I've been to in years where "since I was young" wasn't chanted. Even that game at tannadice last season it was chanted at least once. They definatly make the games more enjoyable

Got to say that is great service, fair play to them, had a few bad experiences with train companies but that's good stuff from Virgin.

Great day down at Morecambe, non - stop singing, flares and lager at half time, brilliant. Nice wee ground, only a tenner to get in, kids under 14 got in free.:drinks::thumbup: smashing game with a last minute winner as well.

Pub right next to the ground with a beer garden, my wee lassie had a pizza and pasta then an ice cream and I had a couple of pints and a chat with fellow Well fans.

Down to the Kings Arms after the game then train home, back for half past eight,

We met all the guys we were with at Athens and had a wee lager or 2 before the game and at half time.

This is what pre-season trips are all about. :yahoo:
