What a difference Pearson makes. Energy and physicality in the middle of the park.

Not been great other than that, Skippy very very slack and Lasley really needs to screw the nut. Stupid tackles and running out of position. Distribution from the back has been poor.

Oh and the Thistle keeper hasn't had a save to make.

Lasley is 2nd to every ball that's why he is always chasing the game and giving away stupid free kicks, glad we had Pearson back today.

Really like the look of big Kennedy at the back and continue to be impressed by Ainsworth and his improved attitude and work rate. Grimshaw was decent if unspectacular at right back. Pearson makes a huge difference.

Now the negatives. Defence was all over the place in terms of organisation in the first half. Keeper was very suspect at the goal.

Ball retention could have been better.

But it's a win and we scored twice in a league game so not going to be too picky...

I actually thought it was a good bit of management by taking moult off. He was getting nothing off the ref who seemed to take a dislike to him and I thought he was itching to give him that 2nd booking.

Maybe changing the system and bringing on leitch wasn't the ideal change but he can point to the scoreline at the end and say he got it right.

How many bookings is Las on? He must be close to missing a few games now.

Doesn't seem to figure here:

Poor performance from both sides bit sorry for baraclough very similar to the United game but had pearo. Defence looked good grimshaw and charmers good if unspectacular Kennedy looked good, pearo good energy.

Lasley is well past his best as has been said 2nd to everything and just kicks people lucky not to be sent off today. Johnson looks so short of confidence. And not a fan of ripely very unathletic. Ref had a bizarre game never blew is whistle for first half hour. Good win and glad we got to ten points

Actually thought it was a better game than we've been seeing lately, as I said at the game, I thought Partick weren't bad at all, moved the ball around well enough, they just lacked end product.

Still think we are weak in the full back positions but Kennedy has made a good impression. Johnson was better today than against Morton but we still need to get more out of him.

Down the spine of the team we looked a lot better - Kennedy, McManus, Lasley, Pearson, Moult, McDonald.

Big lift before arriving at FP to hear that Pearson and Fletcher were back, while Taylor was out the squad entirely.

Today was all about the 3 points and we managed to get them. Performance was similar to what we've seen under Baraclough but that was to be expected as Craigan has only had one training session with the squad,

Big positives were the performances of Kennedy and Ainsworth. Kennedy looks a good big centre half albeit with some distribution reminiscent of his caretaker manager. Ainsworth meanwhile was motm and answered Craigan's call for his game changers to get on the ball more. I thought he was a class above and it was a shame one of his mazy runs didn't end with a goal.

I also thought Grimshaw was a good robust addition at right back.

Couple of niggling negatives, one being the obsession of punting high balls to Marvin. Hopefully that tactic will be addressed soon. The other concern being the overly cautious substitution involving Moult and Leitch, particularly because there was half an hour to go and we were on the front foot.

And Why not?

I'm not saying he shouldn't get it , but that was far from the finest presentation to justify his promotion.

the only difference today from Baraclough was team selection,

the tactics, distribution, skills were all quite terrible, 1st substitution was baffling, but hey one goal for will gloss over the goal lost and subsequent shambles

but we won, so many will not care

Kennedy stood out, Ainsworth continues to impress and is likley my MOTM (notably for his workrate as much as his wing play)

the 700-800 fans we've lost will not be hurrying back to see the hoofball from Ripley go straight out the park, or 11 players defending corner after corner in the box leaving no out ball , and immediately being under pressure again.

it's a toss up to who put in the worst performance, McDonald or Steven McLean

edit:

and no way are Partick Thistle the worst team in this league, well structured, organised, tough tackling, and rattled the woodwork, what 3 times?

Was exactly was wrong with the first substitution?

McDonald was having a shocker in midfield and Moult was getting little change up front and was one more challenge away from getting sent off. Within 5 mins of taking Moult off for Leitch and moving Skippy up front to his best position he scored.

Playing a midfielder in midfield and a striker up front, it'll never catch on.
