Gillespie confirmed at Newcastle on a 3 year deal, fair play to him. No doubt getting his motherwell wage ten times over on that contract. You have to wonder how much football he is actually going to play in those 3 years though, could genuinely not play a single senior game in that time which at 28 would  be a massive step back coming into his prime years so to speak.

Good on him but.

If you're Gillespie and at 28, probably not made much money in football, it's an absolutely life changing deal for him...hes got the luck that unfortunately Carson didnt

Mark Gillespie reported to have signed for Newcastle, all the best to him.

He deserves a big move, 3 year deal apparently and no doubt a life changing wage every week, I hope he gets a chance in the premiership. Best of luck to him.

Fairplay to Gillespie. Great move for him. Really hope he can nail down a first team place. He seems like a good guy and it would be another feather in our cap when trying to attract aspiring talent.

Report says they hope to get him on the cheap for £1m which would be a steal and bad news for us.

Any administrator at Wigan wouldn't be doing their job if they let assets go on the cheap and £1m for a young  player with 2 years experience in the English Championship is cheap...

Absolutely.  Going back to our spell in Administration, big Terry had the final say about who was transferred and who wasn't from a football perspective. However the administrators decided what fee was acceptable for any leavers.  Dundee United offered "to help us out" by tabling an offer for Stuart Elliot which was about 10% of the fee we eventually received from Hull City. United were told where to go in no uncertain terms. Kipre is worth more than £1m.

He’s probably worth three to four times that.

As announced in this week’s well society email

Quote

Cammy Murray, Tom Smith and our Club historian Stuart Graham have produced an excellent twenty five minute video about our great team of the late 1950s and early 1960s - The Ancell Babes including backing vocals from Club legend Willie Hunter.

This can be viewed on YouTube under Motherwell F.C. Legends.
