No doubt getting his motherwell wage ten times over on that contract. You have to wonder how much football he is actually going to play in those 3 years though, could genuinely not play a single senior game in that time which at 28 would be a massive step back coming into his prime years so to speak. Good on him but. If you're Gillespie and at 28, probably not made much money in football, it's an absolutely life changing deal for him...hes got the luck that unfortunately Carson didnt

He deserves a big move, 3 year deal apparently and no doubt a life changing wage every week, I hope he gets a chance in the premiership. Best of luck to him. joewarkfanclub 608 Report post Posted July 4, 2020 Fairplay to Gillespie. Great move for him. Really hope he can nail down a first team place. He seems like a good guy and it would be another feather in our cap when trying to attract aspiring talent.
numpty 405 Report post Posted July 4, 2020 It's a great move for him, but he'll be doing well to make himself second choice keeper there, let alone first.
santheman 150 Report post Posted July 5, 2020 Rumours going around that Kipre is away to West Ham. Potential windfall for us if that's the case
Stuwell2 31 Report post Posted July 5, 2020 Report says they hope to get him on the cheap for £1m which would be a steal and bad news for us.

Any administrator at Wigan wouldn't be doing their job if they let assets go on the cheap and £1m for a young player with 2 years experience in the English Championship is cheap... Absolutely. Going back to our spell in Administration, big Terry had the final say about who was transferred and who wasn't from a football perspective. However the administrators decided what fee was acceptable for any leavers. Dundee United offered "to help us out" by tabling an offer for Stuart Elliot which was about 10% of the fee we eventually received from Hull City. United were told where to go in no uncertain terms. Kipre is worth more than £1m.

Big Wispy Flossy 365 Report post Posted July 10, 2020 Remember the outrage on here when we allowed Dom Thomas to leave and signed Cedric Kipre (even though they played different positions and are a million stratosphere’s away in terms of footballing ability)

GazzyB 913 Report post Posted July 13, 2020 I thought Cadden was back at Oxford but a quick Google shows he's still with Columbus. Made his first appearance back since lockdown as a 2nd half sub for them yesterday. He'll likely never play for Oxford again.

Welldaft Mk1 508 Report post Posted July 13, 2020 1 hour ago, weeyin said: Karma for who? It's Columbus that owe us money and they have the player. Not again Weeyin..... Oxford offered a significant transfer fee to Columbus to keep Cadden. Reportedly much more than they would have had to pay us for his development fee. All because they thought they could be smart arses and avoid paying us. Columbus tell them to do one and now they stay in League One....Karma. I know we did it with one or two players from down south. But that is different. We are Motherwell. All that counts
