Haggischomper 1,427 Report post Posted September 29, 2016 Not an ex-player but former manager. Looks like Eric Black is going to be featured in the Telegraph corruption story tomorrow. He's corrupt but the best he could do for us was Okoli and Franck Bernhard? Wanker.
Lobey_Dosser 808 Report post Posted September 29, 2016 Not an ex player but it looks like our former boss Eric Black is in a bit of bother. Edit - beaten to it.
Andy_P 1,916 Report post Posted September 30, 2016 Black was someone I never really warmed to when he was at Fir Park. He came with a great reputation but never seemed to be particularly happy when he was here. What truth is in it I don't know but I mind after he went he claimed he'd been assured of various resources to build the team that never materialised when he took the job, so much so he'd underspent his current budget to make a better fist of the following season. I remember the AGM shortly before we went into administration and he sat there with his fact tripping him the whole night and when asked to speak was hardly full of boundless enthusiasm. Perhaps that was just his demeanour and might explain the wholly different type of character he brought in as his assistant in Terry Butcher, but I have wondered if privately he might not have been that upset at the administration process giving him an exit route with his reputation then untouched. GazzyB 1,346 Report post Posted October 1, 2016 Jamie Murphy got a full game for Brighton today, is he playing regularly there? Also Marv got 68 minutes in a 2-0 Oxford win away to Bolton. Any more?
Yassin 758 Report post Posted October 1, 2016 Steve Jennings was getting interviewed before the Tranmere game on BT there.
weeyin 4,196 Report post Posted October 1, 2016 Jamie Murphy got a full game for Brighton today, is he playing regularly there? He was a first team regular last season, but any time I have checked this season he seems to be coming off the bench.
steelboy 1,307 Report post Posted October 1, 2016 They brought in a Czech internationalist left winger in the summer who was keeping him out the team.
Del_Superwell 55 Report post Posted October 1, 2016 Nathan Thomas scored again for Hartlepool today. Ross McCormack missed a penalty for Aston Villa which is unusual for him.

Gadgey 282 Report post Posted October 9, 2016 Had a quick look at an oxford forum the other day and it's fair to say that there are some beginning to question the money spent on Marv and Kane Hemmings. Many others are saying it's early doors and that Marv will come good. I've always said it, unless Marv improves his stamina and resilience, he's a mid league 1 player at best. capt_oats 508 Report post Posted October 9, 2016 Watched the Oxford game just there, Johnson made an appearance as a sub. Hemmings didn't do much and ex-Thistle striker Lyle Taylor had a run out for Wimbledon. Not to go down the route of slagging off/dismissing other leagues but that was absolutely chronic. I think I'm right in saying with Johnson, Hemmings, Rothwell and a couple of others Oxford spent £1m+ in transfer fees over the summer. The game barely rose above hoofball level though Wimbledon had a couple of decent finishes for their goals.

steelboy 1,307 Report post Posted October 12, 2016 Richie Foran wins the manager of the month. Some turnaround from the start of the season. Some turnaround from having our support in uproar about whether or not he was too much of a jakey to play for us.
weeyin 4,196 Report post Posted October 13, 2016 Some turnaround from having our support in uproar about whether or not he was too much of a jakey to play for us. He certainly didn't become a cult hero for some because of his gifts on the pitch.
Well-Made 122 Report post Posted October 13, 2016 I believe somewhere that I have footage of a fresh air swipe at the ball in the box in front of the Cooper. Instead of screaming abuse, most folk burst out laughing....

Kat 143 Report post Posted October 17, 2016 Some penalty taker though! Every single penalty in the bottom right corner, I think he only missed one as well away to Aberdeen. Hit the post against Hearts at Tynecastle from the spot, think the game finished 0-0 as well. Decent guy though, met him down south once and held the club in high regard. Welldaft Mk1 612 Report post Posted October 17, 2016 Had a quick look at an oxford forum the other day and it's fair to say that there are some beginning to question the money spent on Marv and Kane Hemmings. Many others are saying it's early doors and that Marv will come good. I've always said it, unless Marv improves his stamina and resilience, he's a mid league 1 player at best. I suspect any deal done with Oxford had add ons such as appearances and probably also promotion. Assuming that is the case we want him to do Well down there. As for any sell on clause - I suspect he has found his level.
