The title of this topic should be amended to "The Great Clear Out 2017".

Yip, if we manage to get out of this mess at all, the Club should take the opportunity to rebuild the squad in its entirety. In fact even if the worst was to happen and we do go down, we'll need a squad of players who are hungry for the fight, this squad of players don't have that.

A number of Football League and Scottish sides are tracking Stockport County star Danny Lloyd, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Left-sided winger Lloyd has enjoyed a stunning season to date for Stockport in the National League North, scoring 26 goals and laying on another 19 assists for the Hatters to make him one of the most in-demand players on the non-league scene.

The 25-year-old joined Stockport from National League North rivals AFC Fylde last summer where he scored 61 goals in three seasons.

Lloyd's performances for Stockport have not gone unnoticed among clubs higher up the football pyramid with scouts from clubs flocking to Edgeley Park to cast an eye over the free-scoring attacker who was named as National League North Player of the Month for March after a stellar few weeks last month.

League One trio Walsall, Peterborough and Shrewsbury have been keeping tabs on Lloyd, while League Two promotion hopefuls Portsmouth and Plymouth Argyle are also keen admirers of the former Lincoln City man.

Scottish pair Motherwell and Hibernian are also tracking Lloyd and they see him as someone who could prove to be a bargain addition to their squads for next season.

Lloyd is out of contract at Stockport this summer and the club will face a major battle to keep hold of the Liverpool-born winger as interest continues to mount in the player.

I'll throw my guess into the mix...Marc McNulty from Sheff Utd? Out of contract at the end of the season and been on loan at Pompey and Bradford recently. Not sure that could be considered 'ups and downs at bigger clubs' though...
