Better. Actually created chances what with having a winger and a proper striker on the pitch. Livingston looked dangerous in the first 20 minutes or so and Carson had to make a smart save and they had one off the bar. Since the goal though we have mainly been able to nullify them as an attacking team. Probably 1-0 is about right. Important we get the next goal though.

8 shots at goal, 6 on target, according to the Beeb. That is pleasingly uncharacteristic compared to our recent efforts.

Poorer 2nd half but at least Campbell came on and looked like his old self. Hit the post as well but apart from that don't remember either keeper having a serious save to make. Livingston played nice enough football but have a serious lack of cutting edge. For us Johnson was taken off and Frear fell out of the game. Overall a fairly even match with Danny Johnson the difference between the teams.

Lots of positives from today. Bigi and Gorrin both show potential and Johnson is going to score a stack of goals for us when fully up to speed. Very good first half with plenty of passing football, their keeper kept them in the game. Second half we sat too deep and let them back in it although even then Carson had little to do.

But that pitch is an absolute abomination and should be replaced immediately.

1-0 at half time. Thoroughly enjoying the game. Lots of attacking football and could easily be 4-4. Very impressed with Bigi trying (and generally succeeding) to make forward passes and he's taken some cracking corners.

Job done ,what a terrible surface

If we had Tanner, Cadden, Dunne, Grimshaw and Bowman out last season - and then lost Hartley during the game - we'd have struggled to win this one; never mind be able to give Campbell a rest.

We can argue the toss about the new signings, but today showed we at least have a depth we didn't have at key points last season.

I'm sure Robinson knows Johnson looks like a starter, but it sounds like he doesn't have 90 minutes in him yet.

One of the bar that was a speculative effort.

Dominated, created chances.  Frear dangerous from LWB.  Main and Johnson linking well.   There keeper has kept them in.  Enjoyable so far.

Think you are doing Lawless a bit of  a disservice.....a superb strike that had Carson beaten

Carson then had a superb save from Millers very similar  speculative effort

could have been 2-0 very early  on .........if yer maw has baws etc etc ground out the win

Back to the bread n butter stuff next Sunday !!!!

Did what we had to do, at least Robinson should now realise that Johnson needs to start along side Main upfront.

Johnson is going to be our top scorer for at least the next couple of seasons unless he gets another move, the guys a natural goalscorer.  Think we have unearthed another potential gem

Enjoyed that for the most part.

Good finish by Johnson who also hit the woodwok himself. Main (I think) chance cleared off the line, McHugh a very good chance and Campbell hit the post too.

Wasn't too happy with Hartley going off as moving to a back 4 left us a bit shaky for a period. Heard it was cramp in his hamstring more than anything too serious though.

More then pass marks to most. Good win.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt as intentionally missing the point in a feeble trolling effort.

You must upset that Frear put in a decent shift again.
