    • Happy we have accepted the quoted fee of 3.25m + add ons.
    • Think we should have held out for more, but still sold this summer
    • Think we should have kept David for at least one more season
    • Happy we have accepted the quoted fee of 3.25m + add ons, but shouldn't have accepted a bid from a club in Scotland
    • Other thoughts. Please comment

I know the club have to do the right thing by the player (our whole selling point is that we are a selling club) as well as the club's finances but it really is now a time to stand up for ourselves (that's not an insinuation that we haven't done so already).

It's impossible to know what the truth is and what the circumstances are.   Irrespective, I desperately want the club to now pull out of the deal and refuse to sell to Celtic.

We need the money, granted.  We don't need their money, though.

I was thinking about a rant but to be honest its just all bollocks. Theres too much going on for it to be nothing, something fishy is definately going on and we are probably going to be shafted here.

The only thing certain is it will be an "undisclosed fee" and we as fans of a "fan owned" club will never know the truth

Talk of games based add-ons should get in the bin as there are ways to circumvent them.

If they dont deem him medically fit, they can leave him.

Pay the asking price, or 'move on'.

Happily see him back here.

I think we should all calm down until we find out what is actually going on.  I know that is saying something coming from me.....

I am quite sure that we will not capitulate in negotiations.  They will either work in our favour or we will move on.

If he has got a knee problem or similar then to be fair to Celtic they should come back and renegotiate. Not on the original sum but how it is paid. It all depends how serious the issue is or could be.

If they say we pay £2m now and £1m based on successful op and or appearances then you would expect Motherwell to do something similar were the roles reversed.

However if they are trying to pay nothing up front or agree a large reduction then jog on. It needs to be sorted today one way or another now it is all over the media. Not doing us or the player any favours. Not if we cannot reach agreement with Celtic and it affects any future transfer.

Apparently the 15 million for Tierney is mainly add ons including appearances and assists.

It wouldn't surprise me if after getting that offer from Arsenal they have decided to hit us with the same type of deal.

One of the problems at the moment for most fans is perception. For all intents and purposes it's easy to forget that he's still a contracted Motherwell player, what with the photos of him in a Celtic shirt with Lennon, him being reported as bouncing around specialists all over the UK with Celtic doctors and so on.

Meanwhile our focus is on pre-season, with him having for all intents and purposes been sold.

You have to feel for the lad. Regardless of how much he wants a move, or how much money he could potentially be getting, there must have been a few times when he's been sitting outside some doctors office somewhere checking his phone and seeing the videos and photos from Belfast thinking "Fuck sake man, I wish I was just out there having a laugh with my pals and getting some time in on the pitch."

I would have thought it better to wait until we know the actual details rather than what’s written on social media. Again no idea why this “amateur” line is been pushed again.

This 100%.

The "Undisclosed Fee" jibes seem to be resurfacing despite this practice being explained before, and frequently, ad nauseum.

You posting the exact same poor excuses every time doesn't mean supporters need to accept undisclosed fees.

If there's not full transparency now a lot of people will be very unhappy.

Great how everyone is so desperate to Kevin Muscat the club after a bunch of stories with zero quotes.

Beautiful imagery.

You've got to wonder what this issue is that has come up. Very odd and unfortunate this whole saga has been quite public in  the press etc.

As for the medical:

- Has to be either be something longstanding, which seems unlikely as he played every game last season once he was in and as far as I know has  no injury history

Or

- An injury that has happened at the time of medical or something. Which is also unlikely given its pre season but if so would incredibly unlucky.

The quicker this is resolved, either way, with an agreed explanation, for player and club the better.

He’s our player. Bring him back so we can assess this “out of the blue” knee injury. I’m guessing our medical team are as surprised as we are. If he needs treatment, so be it. We can attend to that. If he is ok, then he is missing valuable pre season training and getting to know our new players.

Or Celtic can stump up what was agreed.

What’s the alternative? Agree some half arsed reduced terms deal with additional to be paid when he has played 50 and then 100 games? Cue sell on at 49 or 99 games with or possibly without a sell on fee.  No thanks.

Plenty of time left in this window. If Celtic really want him they will come back, now or when he proves his fitness. He is a commodity they want for future gain. And another good season for him and others will be interested.

We are in the position of strength here. We should not roll over and give away our best asset in a rush of panic. Or are we that desperate for the cash? We have done our best for Turnbull in this window but maybe it’s not to be for him.... this time. We have clearly demonstrated we will let him go to advance his career, but it must be on our terms.

This whole chat about a 'dodgy knee'...not seen any in the know source report that. So I'm guessing it's just the usual online/social media show ball effect?

There's been a few sources claiming it as being true, and it's the same thing I alluded to the other day.

There's a reason why his medical is dragging on, and why he's being sent to see different doctors and so on I'd imagine. This isn't a case of people making things up with no foundation, there's a reason why this is taking so long.

I wonder if the delayed confirmation of the transfer is the reason for the delayed announcement of our own transfers, which were seemingly imminent last week. If we were banking on the transfer fee for new players in any way then it just adds extra urgency to our side to get this sorted ASAP. I’m not inclined to negotiate with Celtic, if it actually has come to that I’d much prefer we pulled the plug and went to the ‘transfer targets - plan B’ folder today.

I'd hope that wasn't the case, and that we had our transfer plans drawn up long before we had any idea we'd be getting £3 million for Turnbull.

I think you are 100% correct. Burrows suggested transfers were going to go ahead (1 atleast) last Friday but nothing more was said about it.

We need to get this mess sorted out, I personally would suggest if this is not done today then we should pull the plug.

Motherwell should not be negotiating here unless its about where the medical expense lies. If Celtic aren't willing to stump up the originally agreed cash, pull the plug give the boy the operation and let him show his worth all over again.

English teams won't think twice about paying this money once the issue is resolved.

Worryingly, there didn't seem to be that many of them willing to pay this money before the issue even arose. I think we may have overestimated the size of the queue when it comes to clubs willing to chuck £3 million at us.

He has played 30 odd games for us mate, if he has a similar season to last more English teams will stand up and take notice.

How often do SPFL players go direct to the EPL? That's what was going to happen with Norwich. From what I understand there was at least another 1 EPL club interested and several championship clubs.

If he has a legit injury gets the work done and has another 6 months/season we will get the money we want.

I've certainly seen reports of a further medical from in the know/reliable sources. Don't dispute that part. But, I've seen nothing specific about a dodgy knee other than on twitter, and then following that the usual online news sources which seem to just hoover up opinion and present it as fact.

Could well be true but we should be careful talking about it and presenting it as fact on these types of forums before we know everything.

Internet forums are always going to be full of speculation and rumour, it's the name of the game. I wouldn't worry about what we're saying on here, we're just a bunch of fans passing the time while we wait on transfers to happen.

It'll all be revealed in due course I guess.

I'm sure we had hoped to make a new signing round about the time it looked like turnbull would be going to celtic.maybe this new player was being brought in to replace him and weve had to put it on hold until we know for sure whats happening.I could easily be wrong there but if this saga is in anyway affecting our ability to bring in new players and disrupt our preparations for the coming season then we have to be prepared to walk away, granted there is a lot of money at stake but were rapidly approaching the point where enough is enough.if this isn't resolved by tonight then,i would like to see us pull the plug on the deal and get turnbull back to the club and go from there,at the end of the day,he's still our player, were paying his wages but yet our club has been left in total limbo for the past couple of weeks.

Sadly in the world today a few posts citing a dodgy knee on a forum, gets picked up on Twitter, spreads around whatsapp groups, gets picked up on an opinion piece blog reported as news and then next day is in the paper as fact!

We should just be careful is all I'm saying to specify actual facts from pure opinion with things like this.
