Season 2020’21: Game 35: Hamilton (A)

OK, we got the 3 points, but the approach to the second half was ridiculous. Some will say that it served a purpose, but if we can't take control of a game against a 10 man Hamilton side I don't know where we go from here. Ultimately, where is the entertainment. Where is the desire to entertain? Why should any of us buy a season ticket next year when the entertainment on show this season has been so, so poor?

Glad of the 3 points, great that we are staying in the top league, but a plea to Motherwell FC, please, please, please remember this is a sport, but it is also meant to entertain.

We are mathematically safe from automatic relegation, and if Killie don't win tonight we will be safe from the playoff spot as well :)

Hopefully they lose then. Even if they don’t, it would surely take a disastrous set of results to see us in the playoffs now.

Entertainment goes out the window when you need points to avoid relegation.

Agreed, I'd be ok with it if it was only a few games this season, but it hasn't been, the whole season has be devoid of entertainment. There was a chance tonight to put a little bit of pace and energy into the second half, get a second goal and relax, but we chose to sit back, slow everything down and try to hold a single goal lead against 10 men. It isn't the kind of football that I want to watch every week.

Didnt realise it was a 6pm kick off so missed the first half! 2nd half was pretty brutal. Far too pedestrian against 10 men. Why Alexander didnt make more changes after a tough 120mins on Friday night beggars belief. Some fresh legs up front against 10 men would have given them something to think about. I totally underdtand starting 3-5-2 to match them in midfield and get Long more involved through the middle. But 2nd half was screaming for 4-3-3 with Lawless and Hastie supporting Cole ( taking Long off was the correct decision as he was a red card waiting to happen).

That all said, it is a great 3 points. Even if Killie were to win tonight and win their remaining 3 and we lost all 3 it would take Ross County to win their games and goal difference to put us in the play off spot. Thats not gonna happen so we can relax now.

Hopefully Roberts will be fit for Saturday. We will need him if we are gonna have any chance of getting past Hibs.

I want killie and county to win, all about 7th now.

Spot on,there's no reason why we can't finish 7th,we should be looking up than what's happening below us,hopefully alexander is thinking the same as finishing a place higher might allow his budget to bring in an extra player for next season.

Too much sense for this board!

More chance of an ESL than that all happening!

Funny old season, we’ve just gone above the best St Mirren team in decades and could end up with more points than the team in 5th yet we’ve had terrible injuries and next to no entertainment. Not sure what that says about the league other than there is next to no difference in quality between the majority of teams in this division.
