St Johnstone v Motherwell 8/8/21

They were just strolling through our attempts at a press like we weren't there, and our guys look like they're running on quicksand.

Things looked promising early on with a couple of chances, including a good save from Clark, but we've fallen right out of the game.

Their goal was a good cross, but we needed to deal with that.

Beginning to think Motherwell play like this to get booed off every half time. There is a huge disconnect in the midfield. The defence are completely missing the midfield and its long balls up to woolery or van Veen. Our short corners are starting to be embarrassing for its comedy value as every single club has sussed them out yet we persist with them.

I appear to have missed any good bits. We look as if we have never played together as a team.

It was a bright enough opening with Clark making a good save from Van Veen and a great save from Woolery but before we conceded we looked like shooting ourselves in the foot with Donnelly gifting May a chance he should have buried. From the 25th min St J have bossed it tbh, you would think we were the side that played mid week.

Mugabi and Lammie says it all.  Utterly without any talent, other than being tall.  Might  get a game in a fourth division rugby club.

Midfield are totally anonymous.  Slattery looks like he's towing a bus, and he's the best of the 3.

Short corners, the definition of insanity.  Trying the same thing time after time and expecting it to work.

Manager a lot to blame.

Weak in central defense, weak in central Midfield and we’re Weaker without Watt in the side. Yet here we are, half time, in our second match and haven’t  apparently figured that out.

Sadly the start to the season was very predictable, we’re well behind where we would like to be with signings not yet completed. A third of the team have very little game time with the new centre half not even ready to start. Donnelly, Slattery, Shields, Van veen probably need another two or three weeks for starters. I just wonder how many potential signings we held out for that went elsewhere.

We don't even look like a team that played midweek in 30 degree heat with travelling involved,we look like a team that's never played with each other before,it's been shambolic so far,the midfield is still a concern but our defence fills me with zero confidence, you just know it's only a matter of time before we give away a soft goal, were always going to be on the back foot with this current defence.we need ojala in to hopefully make us better as lamie and mugabi just aren't upto it as a partnership and our full back are still giving away all the time under the sun for the opposition to put balls into the box.weve had a couple of good moments going forward but it's simply not enough for 45 minutes of football.
