Ross County v Motherwell 18/1/22

Recommended Posts

So with current restrictions supposed to end on 17th does anyone think that this game will go ahead in front of a normal crowd including away fans.

Personally don't think for a minute that it will but in the unlikely event restrictions are lifted, an announcement would surely have to be made at least a few days before the game to allow for ticket sales.

If there are going to be 500 limits on crowds, or worse, zero crowds, I'd rather wait for a few more weeks and extend the season instead.

I know there might be logistical challenges with that, but I'd rather we tried to deal with that than with playing in empty grounds. While it was great last season to have anything available at all, I'd struggle to watch similar this season.

If the restrictions are going to be lifted it will be announced at the update next week.

Not a chance, Covid numbers are rising not falling.

Numbers rising isnt the be all and end all.

Hospital admissions, admissions to ICU and deaths will govern what happens next.

If they dont rise, there will be no justifucation to limit outdoor gatherings.

If you look at the last two games Rossco have played they have had an abundance of shots hence the 5 at the back play to sneak a win mentality

The Joint Review Group are telling clubs to prepare for full houses after the winter break.

We are 20 days into the Omicron wave and ******'s tsunami of hospitalisations still hasn't emerged so keeping fans out for longer isn't at all justifiable.

It has to be 4-3-3.

Kelly

SOD Mugabi Sol* McGinley

Slattery Donnelly Goss

Woolery KVV Shields

*If Sol is injured start Ojala, Lamie, Carroll in that order.

Would that be the same hospital admissions in Scotland that have doubled since Christmas, large numbers of staff not at work  due to covid, positive case numbers that are pretty much doubling every 2 or 3 days and you want no restrictions on people mixing and turning football matches into super spreader events.....stop talking shite.

Hospital admissions are increasing because people are being admitted for other reasons and testing positive for asymptomatic Covid. The ICU number is currently 42.

The figures from England show that sporting events make no difference. Anyone who genuinely believes that stopping football matches which are attended by less than 2% of the population for a few hours a week will reduce transmission has little grasp on Covid or arthimetic.

Pushing people from an outside activity towards inside activities probably increases transmission overall.

Do you actually engage your brain before you post ....so stopping hundreds of thousands of football fans mixing at and travelling to and from matches with no social distancing etc won't reduce the transmission and spread of covid ok then

Do you think those fans disapear when they aren't at the football?

And it's not hundreds of thousands people either. As I said a clear problem with arithmetic.

Nearly full and/or  full houses at Ibrox , Parkhead, Tynecastle, Easter Rd and Pittodrie as is the case most weeks would put the totals into the hundreds of thousands alone never mind the other 37 grounds so no problems with my counting.

All full at the same time?

If the rumours are true and we'll have full houses again from the 17th, will you be accusing Sturgeon of talking shite or failing to engage her brain?

It might be justifiable; we just don't know, as little or no evidence has been presented so far to underpin the decision.

According to the Office of National Statistics (universally acknowledged as the most accurate) the figures in England week ending 24th December was 1 in 15 people with COVID

That equates to 3.7 million people with COVID

Wait and see the numbers for New Year   !!!!

Not at all I am sure the Scottish  government won't want restrictions in place any longer than they need to be, so if the advice they get from the experts says no need for crowd limits after 17/1 then I'm sure they will act accordingly.

What gets me though is the number of posters on here that think that going to a football match, or the pub or a nightclub etc is more important than trying to control a highly transmissible virus that kills people and leaves others with serious long term health issues.

Those figures are from before the new restrictions.

The figures for England outwith London and Scotland are pretty much the same.
