If we're not interested in Europe, then why even bother trying for top six? European football is the pinnacle for a club like ours outwith winning one of the two cups. It should always be on the agenda if and when we ensure we're not in danger of relegation.

This is just such a shit argument.

There is not a Motherwell fan anywhere who wouldnt take winning a cup over playing in in Europe.

For one, winning the Scottish Cup you qualify for Europe anyway. And the way things are goung we are getting to the stage with the co-efficient, the League Cup might be back in with a shout.

Its not an either / or.

But in the absence of winning a cup (we have done it once in my lifetime and Im 53) then the next best thing is qualifying for Europe and the chance to dream about giving a big name a bloody nose and the potential for a nice away trip.

Can we bin this thread. Its just stupid.

If offered the Europa League group stages or the Scottish Cup, it'd absolutely 100% be the former for me.

No one is actually saying that though. We're not talking about winning a cup over playing in Europe, we're talking about playing the group stages of the League Cup over playing in Europe.

There's a huge difference.
