I'd buy Aberdeen and sack Mark McGhee.

Nope, thats too easy!

Buy Aberdeen, sell the best players to the Well at knock down prices, bring back Fat Boab to the North East on twice his previous salary and then tell McGhee to get on wi' it as the fans need success!!

Now for the other £999,999,006.20.....

I would buy Hearts and sell it to my little brother for a pint of milk and some tic tacs

And....

with the other £999,976,887.20 + a pint of milk and some tic tacs  i would....

Buy both sides of the old Firm and merge them to make the Hoopy-h**s of Glasgow FC.

then id put the rest in the bank for future use.

Id build a crackin brand new 17,000 seater stadium where Fir Park is at the moment, In it there would be 2 big screens and 2 tiers on three sides of the ground. The advert things round the pitch would be those screen things like many other clubs have. The Pitch would be level. A new training ground located at Ravenscraig, with indoor and outdoor astro, medical facilities etc and a new MFC Youth Academy would be Built in Ravenscraig also.

Brownings the bakers would be hired to do the catering on matchdays, who would bring their products from Rugby Park with them, although it wouldnt be called Killie Pie anymore, it would be a 'Well Pie  .

I would be offering half price season tickets to all Lanarkshire school kids, mainly to knock the "Im an old firm fan, pure diehard man, love them tae bits, never been tae a game mind yi and cuudnae tell yi who we're playin the morra" attitude outta them, and get them all right into supporting the 'Well, and hopefully many of them will hand this down to their kids as they get older, and yabie do, the fanbase continues to grow

And finally, the remaining cash would be injected into the new manager's budget.

Would it really require an outsider ( and a Sassenach to boot ) to come in and do it properly ?

I like these fantasy "what I'd do with a fortune" ideas. A billion would provide scope to do good in so many areas. So, on the basis of buying 'Well for you guys, here are my ideas.

First of all buy the club lock, stock and barrel then turn it into a trust or co-operative to be owned in equal share by all season ticket holders and members. Kind of the Barcelona model, only more democratic in that all major decision are voted on by the fan-owners.

Written constitution detailing all rights and responsibilites of fan-owners and the procedures in place for any future changes.

Board comprising experts in football business and owner-fans to be elected.

New stadium and training ground , with site and design to be voted on also.

Free admission for children, OAP's, students, disabled, unemployed.

A sustainable long term plan for success, so a lump sum is banked and the interest and some of the capital can be used for transfers and wages.

Club to be involved in social programmes, urban renewal, job creation. A talismanic partner for local government and businesses, recognising its responsibilities to the community it represents. All profits the club makes (if any) to go into the community.

Just a few ideas off the top of my head. Bill Shankley once said football is socialism in action. To be able to kick-start something whereby a club can be at the centre of community life would be fantastic.

First priority would not be the 'Well directly but more so the league management of whatever body was representing the club at the time.

I'd buy up whatever it takes to return all matches to a Saturday 3pm kick-off

thereafter I'm liking a lot of whats been said, particularly Trafficlights althought I draw the line at letting the students and unemployed of the district in for free

Build a 40,000 seater stadium at Ravenscraig, with all mod cons and behind one of the stands a kiddie's playground with a couple of nursery nurses in charge where dad can leave the kids, for free, while he's watching the match.

The first four rows in every stand being seats exclusively for kids under 10 who will be allowed in free.

Invest heavily in the youth set up and bring in a manager who can work with the best players in the world and also build a team from the bottom up.

Sponsor the team myself so that the shirt remains unadorned with any advertising, buy out Canterbury's contract and get Tesco to design the new strip, a Motherwell shirt by Florence and Fred :woop: , and do them at £12 in the Tesco's.

Put polythene covers over the seats in the away stand whenever the bigots visit, plus have a little machine in the away stand that emits a high pitched whistle at the touch of a button and have someone press that button whenever the bigots start up one of their party tunes. One minute they are IRAing away, or up to their knees, and the next they're in the foetal position clutching their ears.

At the start of every season give every Motherwell fan a book with £200 worth of £10 vouchers, make 5 of these vouchers redeemable for each match against the OF, then charge the OF fans the same £50 in hard cash.

Buy up the name Airdrieonians and donate it back to Airdrie United, buy their ground tear it down and replace it with a 25,000 seater state of the art stadium and lend them £30million to build themselves back up to where they were and where they should be, just behind us. I long for a decent derby, Accies just doesn't cut it with me.

Like many before me ................ a new stadium, The Craig would be top of my agenda. It would be a unique 2-tier'd U shape design, encorporating world class facilities for fans to enjoy on match day and thru the week. This to include supporters' bars and restaurants and leisure facilities.

Behind one goal would be the Blast Furnace End where atmosphere generating home fans would amass and give it laldy every week. Along the side would be the Puddler Stand where the more sedate 'Well fans could gather to sit and watch proceedings without interuption from the roudies in the BFE. Behind the other goal would be the Scrab Stand for away fans.

On match day I could be found in my multi-million pound pitch-side executive suite receiving indian head massage from naked Scandinavian ladies  while a scantily clad Melanie Sykes and Caroline Katz served me Ben Riach Curiositas and diet irn bru

Me personally.

As most before me build a stadium (about 14,000, anything bigger would be a waste that this time) with room to expand if need be - all other facilities except attendance would cover at least a 4 star stadium. Of course it will be built at the 'Craig. I would call it "The Steelworks".

After that I would ban shirt sponsors and instead pay £3m a year into the Club for 5 years to cover any loss of revenue

Season tickets down to £100 per Adult, £50 for 12-16 year olds and free for anyone younger for 5 years.

A wage structure of £4,500 - £10,000 max. I know it seems low but I would offer a lot more in bonuses - this exists for 5 years

After 5 years I will decide what more can I do and work from there...

Built a new state of the art 20,000 seat stadium with training facilities, properly designed, by Norman Foster or some other top notch architect, and dedicate it all to my Dad who passed away a few years ago.

Give some serious dosh to a manager and win the league year after year and totally sicken the Old Firm.

There are some absolutely wonderful suggestions on this topic and I love the idea of buying Airdrie to build them into realistic rivals. I also like the "The Steelworks" Stadium at the 'Craig. Personally I would do something very similar re-building the club from the bottom up ensuring that it was an integral part of the psyche of the children of Lanarkshire with a manager whose only remit was to play open attractive entertaining football, preferably with local players but with the option of adding the odd foreigner who could provide an option that was not available locally. I agree that the prices should be kept to a minimum to bring more people into the state of the art stadium that would be a modest 15-16,000 initially with the option to extend as success brings more interest. As somone said earlier it would not be a quick fix but it would hopefully be a legacy left for future generations. Oh and I would buy the OF extend both stadiums to 100,000 reduce the entrance for them and when they were both playing at home fly over both stadiums and drop a big bomb on the barstewards below :D:P:P

i'd buy the club then start banning fans from fir park left right and centre. i'd then redevelop the east stand as a super vip box for the 40 or 50 so remaining fans with jacuzzis, bars and topless waitresses. i'd knock down the other stands and replace them with massive walls engraved with my 'well heroes.

apart from that business as usual.

Rather than building a new staduim I would buy all the houses in Fir Park Street (as we did before) and complete the Phil stand as it should be, renovate the other stands, bring in a decent P.A. system including the 'personality' with the mic. Instruct the stewards that they must give opposing fans only a hard time and tell them to sit down and shut up.

With the infrastucture complete and secure throw loads of money at the playing side and sit back and watch all the fair weather 'Well fans make their way back to Fir Park to watch the best and most exciting football in Britain not just Scotland at a knock down price.

I will of course be watching all of this from my private executive box where only the choosen few will be invited.

This will only be possible if my wife lets me :O

I'd build a new stadium with three giant stands and a sh1tey, uncovered concrete falling to bits effort that we could stick aw the h**s and tims in.

This end of the ground would be styled something similar to cathkin park (2004) as seen below.

cathkin21.jpg

There will also be big nets and fences put in place at this end of the ground as is done in italy fronted by 12 inch thick glass.

The management team will consist of Pep Guardiola and Sieb Dykstra (just for the tache and the banter)

New signings will include; lionel messi, samuel eto'o, james mcfadden.

Jeff Stelling will be the new announcer.
