Job done, simple as that.

Lets not get carried away with a win over sh**e opposition.

Plus points for me;

Emphasis on keeping possession and playing simple passes

Good quality crossing (terrible defending right enough)

Through to the next round and the opportunity for Gannon to spend more time with the players and the players to regain and improve their fitness levels

As a few folk have said tonight was a good professional performance and to me it makes the defeat last week all the more shameful. A plus point has definitely been the performances of the youngsters. They coped well even when it started getting a little towsy in the 2nd half. I'd like to see one of the more experienced guys like Craigan or Lasley take the role Scott Leitch took a few years ago and let the opposition know all about it when they kick one of our younger players.

In the first half tonight we made football look a simple game by getting it out wide, putting in decent crosses with Sutton doing all that we can ask by putting it in the net. The only concern I have is I don't know if this will work in the SPL as a number of teams have big centre halfs although I suppose if we put enough crosses in then we're bound to get something.

I thought in the second half we were guilty of over-doing it a little especially Jim O'Brian - I'd rather see the ball being put in the box early than seeing our wingers trying the beat one man to many.

I think Llanelli will stick to the same plan, so we need to focus on hitting the by-line, stretching their defence, and pinging in plenty of crosses. We also need to make sure we don't start panicking if we don't hit an early goal. The first job at hand is to get 1 - 0 up. It doesn't matter if that happens in the first 10 minutes or the last 10 minutes; as long as it happens. Then we can worry about going on to win.
This management lark is easy - I'm just disappointed I never got the call from JB

Isn't the boy in the wig the one who was in the fight?

Just off the bus there and making this quick- fantastic trip, Llanelli were great hosts. As expected, our superiority shone through and we won at a canter really, Sutton injured his groin in the pre match warm up apparently and thats why he was taken off early. Will add more thoughts about the game/trip later, just one word on the stadium itself though- stunning.

Disappointed I couldn't make it down, but a reasonaly comfortable performance from the guys in the end.

For those of you who decried Buzz and wanted him out .................... careful what you wish for  Here's hoping Fraser's confidence grows, but not filling me with optimism at the moment.

Onwards and upwards

It wasn't a big tactical adjustment last night, more a shift in attitude. There was more hunger. desire and urgency about the Motherwell team last night, with greater determination to get the ball and go forward.

Defensively we were not too bad, and coped reasonably with Llanelli's ariel assualt. However it was all about us going forward, and the passing was crisper and sharper all over the field, meaning we were attacking with more pace and purpose.

That said I still think we need a couple more bodies to ensure we progress against Flamurtari, but the young 'uns can hold their heads high so far.

Just home. Really enjoyed the trip, the fight happened right next to me, but I have no idea what happened.

I was also on the same flight as the team on the way home. Was a bit of a shock to turn round and see em all coming in. And I got interviewed by the BBC and was on the telly tonight!

Andrew_Mumford

thats fuckin hilarious

Andrew 'blubber nuggets' Mumford (born June 18, 1981 in Neath) is a Welsh footballer currently playing for Llanelli

Andrew Mumford joined Llanelli from Port Talbot Town on 22 January 2007, just a week after scoring the winning goal for the Steelmen against Swansea City in the FAW Premier Cup.

A local fat boy from Neath, Andrew overcame diabetes - but not obesity - to become a professional footballer when he signed full time at Swansea several years ago. He took some time to get into the first team, primarily because he is rotund, at the Vetch after going out on loan to Llanelli and Haverfordwest. But, when he returned and was given a chance by the Swans, he grasped the opportunity with both hands and 4 bellies, and made himself an integral part of the team. In the 2001/02 season, Andrew Mumford, the gargantuan monster, became a young Swansea star, being touted by many critics as a player with the potential to play at a higher level and he was even named the club's Player of the Year in Season 2002/2003. A deserved award saw many aspiring footballer's look up to Andy and love the fact that a chubby local boy was doing so well.

That was the highlight of Beefy Mumford's short professional career though and there were numerous rumours as to why Mumford had fallen out of favour at Swansea. Some believed that winning the previous season's player of the year award had caused Mumford to develop a somewhat lazy attitude towards his football - believing that he only had to turn up to get into the side. Other rumours were that Mumford's lifestyle had caused a rift with his manager, Brian Flynn, after he was regularly spotted drinking with pals in the early hours before Saturday matches. The truth however, was that Mumford had developed an unhealthy infatuation with KFC Zinger Burgers and reportedly consumed up to 35 of them each day. His weight rocketed to an alarming 34 stone. Mumford was told that he was no longer needed at Swansea and went searching for a new club. A Swansea City fan site commented "It is sad to see a young player, who had such great potential heading towards the scrap-heap, when it looked like a glorious career in the professional game was once a certainty". However, many people, including Andy, have denied the accusations of his Zinger mania before matches as he is a sufferer of diabetes. Apparently, Andy could only eat 10 Zinger burgers at one sitting and actually preferred a good old Big Mac to Zingy Chicken delights. Some people believe that Flynn was unfair towards Mumford and Andy didn't have a chance to defend the accusations as he was quickly shut out from the Swansea media. Flynn never apologised to Andy for setting these accusations which many fans believed was despicable of a coach which many players and fans looked up to, this may have lead to Flynn's departure of Swansea a short number of years later. Indeed a colleague of Mumford, who preferred to remain anonymous, was quoted as saying 'yes so he might not look like one of those starving African kids you see on the telly but he has a touch at least as good as Eric Cantona and in my book if you're good enough, you're thin enough.' The source continued to vent his frustration by adding 'all I'm saying is there better be a replacement Santa by the time Christmas comes around or the rest of the boys will seriously be considering their future at the club.'

So, after appearing over 70 times for the Swans, he was shipped out on loan to Conference side Aldershot before returning to the League of Wales with Port Talbot in 2004/2005.

He then moved to Aberystwyth before making his Port Talbot bow, but was released from Park Avenue in 2005 after a failed attempt to eat manager Nicky Tucker. After a year away from the game to attend 'Zinger's Annonymous' Mumford returned to the Remax Stadium in August 2006 a new man at just 22 stones. After 18 League and League Cup appearances, and 7 goals he joined Llanelli.

Fat Boy Andy has settled in well at Llanelli, and is now in his 3rd season at the club. As a result of finding stability - and by stability one unfortunately means a local KFC - Mumford is now able to consistently perform well for The Reds. He has played a big part in Llanelli's rise to the top of the Welsh Premier, scoring 24 goals from 63 appearances. He's never been the fittest of players, given his terrible affliction with Zingers, but has real quality and technical ability with the ball at his feet.

Chunky Mumford is able to play at the heart of the defence, but his best work comes in the central midfield role, where his presence, hard tackling and strong shooting abilities make him a key player at this level. He is also a dead ball specialist and has scored a number of spectacular goals from free kicks at Swansea and his Welsh Premier clubs over the years.

Andy was, however, out of action for a few years due to a temporary move to Australia. He made the move to the Land Down Under after - falsely - being led to believe that a new and improved Super Zinger Burger was available exclusively to Melbourne. Tubsters had hoped to construct a coaching career using his qualifications but due to personal problems - his Zinger addiction - he later returned back to Swansea where he found himself in a loyal place among the Llanelli football side.

From 2007, Andy became a father for the first time. Managing to continue a football career with Llanelli has proved difficult when trying to juggle this with fatherhood, his KFC addiction, and his teaching at Birchgrove Comprehensive School of KFC related illnesses. However Chubby always commits one hundred percent to his footballing and is proving to everyone that he still has it in him to be one of the best footballers in local Welsh football. One thing is for sure, the elephantine Mumford will never be far from a KFC for long, and with his determination he is set to light the footballing world up once again.

EDIT: cannae have that disappearing
