  • 2 weeks later...

Update on girls teams. The girls are now in the last few weeks of season 2009(March to Nov). This weekend the 17s(League Winners) had to play 2 games in 3 days to catch up on League cup fixtures. On Friday they beat Celtic 4-2 at Glasgow Green and yesterday they lost 2-1 to League runners up Rangers.

The u13s,u13s Academy and the u15s are all looking forward to next Sunday at Toryglen where they will play in the League Cup finals.

A great season for the club as the 13s,15s and 17s have all won their respective leagues,17s finishing above Rangers and Celtic with one game still to play.Well done to all players and coaches involved.

We were told we would get space on the Community page on website and in programme but it hasnt happened. Its a shame because we have a lot of girls playing who are Motherwell fans and season ticket holders,we are one of the top Girls teams in the country and yet we struggle for recognition from the club when we are successfull. In recent times both Celtic and Rangers have allowed their girls teams to parade trophys etc, shame we cant do the same.

C'mon Flow time to make good on past promises!!! From what I can gather approaches have been made on several occasions to get this off the ground.

Additionally, attempts have been made for the successful teams to parade their trophies at a forthcoming match, which to date, again have met with no success. Its not that long ago that a young boy's club from Wishaw - with no connection to MFC - were afforded this opportunity and yet there appears to be a reluctance to allow the most successful girl's teams in the county the same chance.

These girls are a credit to their coaches and MFC and a healthy number of them are season ticket holders at Fir Park. They have lifted silverware in all categories - wiping the floor with both halves of the Old Firm in the process (which in itself should guarantee that the girls be presented to the crowd). Is it really logistically that difficult to organise something - lots of things are improving down Fir Park way, let's not spoil it by ignoring our 'own'.

Care to comment Flow?

Cmon motherwell, a bit more publicity for the girls, they continually out perform the other teams in their league and even if they dont win tomorow it would be a big boost for them for some kind of recognition.

Remember we have two home games coming up, ideal opportunity for for a public pat on the back.

Fantastic achievments by all involved with the Motherwell Girls

Congratulations -_-

would have thought the club would have been all over such positive news associated with the club  , outwith the general good news that deserves publicity, from a business sense a real opportunity missed to promote the club in the community

Don't know what the problem is with the club. The girls get pretty good coverage with the local papers, but not within fir park. I THINK SOMEONE IN FP DOESN'T LIKE GIRLS FOOTBALL. shame -_-

Ah Young Grasshopper you found the 'add reply' button I see, welcome aboard.

Beginning to think that they just don't like football - full stop. Great opportunity to promote the club in the wider community - what do we do NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!

Get a move on and get something sorted and good luck to the 'Steelburds' - copyright Trafficlight tomorrow in their respective finals - the Under 13's can't lose, the two teams contesting the final are the MFC Girls and the MFC Academy teams.
