I have perfectly sound mentality and am not young, but I am entitled as you to air my opinion. The fact is that almost every year we are the last to release our strip. That is a fact. Poor management that misses out on early sales for the summer holidays.

You are and to be fair, I wasn't exclusively referring to your comment. Though to dismiss the actions of the club or those who run it with such inflammatory language and without any basis, is in my opinion, worthless.

Agreed, it is frustrating. Agreed, we'd all like better. Cannot agree, without the facts, that it can be better.

Gadgey, I understand your sentiment but this is a message board. If all we can discuss is pure proven fact, then this message board that we all contribute to, would be pretty quiet and boring. But for the record, it is fact that we are quite consistently one of the last teams to release our strip, missing potential sales during a time of very low cash flow. It is also fact that we are very late in agreeing sponsorship for the year ahead.

We are definitely missing a trick not having it out by early June at the latest.

I know a couple of fans who only buy the top for going on holiday and wouldn't consider it now their back.

Also is the kit not reduced at Christmas? You might find folk who just buy it for 5's or so might hang off till then if it's not out till July or August.

I rarely buy strips, so don't know.

What dates over the last 5 years have the strips went on general sale? Interesting point about missed sales for summer holidays.

Do you know dinnae-punt-it?

It's definitely a fair point from a cash flow point of view however it'd be genuinely interesting to find out from a market research stance whether they'd actually sell any more by having an earlier on sale date or whether they'd just sell the same number over a longer period.

Would people buying shirts to go on holiday be extra sales or would they just buy them anyway through the season and the summer is viewed as a period to try and shift the discounted dead stock.

Edit: didn't see something else's post when I was writing that. ^^^^

The 2014-2015 strip was unveiled on 9th May but not release for general sale until well into July. The 2013-2014 strip was unveiled on 25th April and was available for sale 5th May. The 2012-2013 was unveiled on 24th May and went on sale on 8th June. The 2011-2012 was released on 24th June but can't determine when it went on sale, but the away wasn't released for another 2-3 weeks and didn't go on general sale until August. So not as bad as I thought, but that 3 out of the last 5 years have been released in late June/early July, with sale dates varying.

Why is the reaction of some folk to not knowing the latest goings on at the club genuine uncontrollable rage? Sitting hammering away at the keys while their wife wonders what shes done to deserve her latest black eye.

You always read the same folk sticking the boot into the club over the most ridiculous reasons like the strip not being out yet or a sponsor not being agreed yet. Maybe no one is willing to meet the price the club is looking for yet. You dont just sell to the lowest bidder.

Always think white shorts are a great contrast to our beautiful colours.

Perhaps it is a generational thing but I would really dislike seeing the white shorts and black socks.

Post 1970, the wearing of white shorts with our home top are almost as rare as a Motherwell cup win. Pre 1970 that they were the norm. Black socks with our home kit are even rarer. The last time we wore them was season 1956-57! Even I wasn’t around then. Flow has indicated that he is hoping that the kits will be unveiled by the end of this week. Here’s hoping for some classy designs and a classy new sponsor to match. B-)

To show off the strip they need to have some players available to do that. THe fact it wasn't done before the season ends, may just mean that the club has to wait for the player(s) returning to preseason or maybe they want to show the new signings off in it.........

If the latter we could be waiting a while........

You didn't need players to model kit back in the seventies, just some skanky burd from the back of a lager can. Ah, the good old days!

I remember Clarky showing off our new kit (2007-08?) with a model. I can’t remember who was wearing the away, however, they also had a girl on their arm. Ayr United still do it. Their sponsors kit reveal pics are pretty much soft porn. Lol
