Ins & Outs

Unless the deal is all but done and dusted, I imagine Motherwell won't be best pleased about this being linked to the media.

Rotherham may be looking to offload him for a few quid this month.

I doubt our board could be too angry, we've pillaged the lower leagues of England and used the cross border thing to our benefit more than we've lost out.

Rotherham's duty is to maximise their return, by leaking our interest to the press they remind everyone he's there for the taking if the price is right, in this case its £0 at present and 11 days and counting, so anything on the table may be entertained.

Otherwise the source could easily be his agent trying to ensure a increase in his wages and consequently his 10%.

From what I read he appears to go through peaks and troughs in his contribution to games, they suggested he sometimes was electric but it happened far too infrequently. There is also a degree of ambivalence which means he wasn't regarded as being integral. However most are wanting to get some money from him and would certainly keep him in the background. I'm sure we could name a number of players that share that bio and have played at FP in the past few years.

Unless the boy really loved working with McCall then he would only move up here to get a move to either the old firm or to a Championship team.

Good. If the height of a player's ambition is to play at Fir Park, they shouldn't even be entertained.

Rumbled.

So what's the deal then Dibble?

First you extol his virtues at every opportunity, you call for him to wear the Dark Blue, you suggest you'd drive him to Ibrox if Rangers were to bid for him and now Eddie has found you waxing lyrical on the board of Gannon's new team.

The only constant is you back Humphrey no matter what however the ultimate loyalty you should have on a forum website should be to the club. Players come and go.

So what is the deal? Family relation? Your sister is his better half? Of course you must know by admitting what your relationship is it would loosen the shaky peg of your credibility.

Aye. Pretty much summed up my thoughts there as well

Just seen on the League 2 news tab on SSN that - Rotherham midfielder Nicky Law is considering a contract offer from Motherwell.

He is a 22 year old midfielder and is out of contract in the summer so could be a move for the summer window. Seems to stack up as previously played under SMC at Bradford.

So he'll be off to join the sheep then

Just got this from Mark Benstead on Twitter

markbenstead motherwell - frustration from grella fiasco. Mchugh sent to thistle then recalled when fell through, got injured in 1 session at firhill.

If McHugh got injured with Thistle who have we got as strikers behind Sutty Murphy and Casagolda?

Gary Smith? Steven Howarth? Lee Erwin?

Now i can see why we need a new striker

should we or can we afford to take a chance with Rory McAllister?

looked decent when we played against Brechin earlier in the season, and certainly gave Reynolds a run for his money when it came to pace. IIRC, he is a plumber - so we'd need to offer good money for him to consider chucking that and part time football.

Do managers ever ask players if they know of anyone that is available? eg - does Jones know of anyone who could do a job that maybe McCall isnt aware of? Or ask Randolph if there were youngsters at Charlton who showed some promise?

Just a pity the “breaking news” never came from the club.

Probably ducking down with the tin hats on after breaking the news about Grella. Wouldn't blame them either, after some of the shite that was thrown about on here!

Laugh at me if you want guys but could we not claim compo from Partick? for not looking after our player cause now we'll have to pick up the injury bill

That being the case how much would we have been due Everton seeing as we had a half-fit Lukas Jutkiewicz patched up and sent out to battle on the tattie field for the last three months of last season!
