I dont know if its the under 19,s who will be on show or if like the game at Fauldhouse last week one or two familiar faces will be on show. Like you say Haggis hope there is a good turnout .

Would be disrespectful just to play the U19's maybe play the first team for a half or have a mix of the 19's and first for both halfs.

Hello,

I wouldn't personally risk ANY of the starting 11 or potential 3 subs in this game. No disrespect to the McGrillen family, however we are on the edge of greatness in getting through to the next round. I wouldn't want us to pick up any knocks or even expend any unnecessary energy.

It's just back timing, given our European run. Why would you want to risk any of these guys???

Lets no get to uptight guys, for my money it will be the under 19,s who will be playing today, as has been said we wont take any chances with the game on Thursday. We played a similar game last year and it was the under 19,s + Darren Smith who played that day. Paul McGrillen played for Bathgate in the game .

The game finished Motherwell 4 Bathgate 2 ,the Motherwell team was Hollis, Humphrey, Hutchison, Quinn ,Paige Fitzpatrick,Grant,Pollock,Innes,McHugh and Smith. I'm not 100% certain but i think the scorers were Fitzy, Pollock and a double from Smith. Motherwell should have been out of site in the first half but the Bathgate keeper had 3 great saves .We went 2 up then Bathgate pulled one back, we then made it 3-1 ,Bathgate got it back to 3-2 but we responded with a 4th . A decent game and no a bad turnout , Paul McGrillens father presented the trophy to Mark Fitzpatrick. And Bathgates Gary McCulloch was awarded with the motm .Sorry its no a very good report but I'm no blessed wi Flows writing skills. Should also mention that Meechan, McKinnon and a young guy who I aint seen before came on as subs.

Goalscorers were Smith (did well to nip in between defender and keeper and curl the ball into the corner), McHugh (although it looked 50/50 between him and Smith as they both collided with the Bathgate keeper), Fitzy (good header from a corner), and McHugh (low drive into the corner), in that order.

Bathgate were not a bad side although Motherwell deserved to win in the end. Humphrey played at RB and didn't look comfortable at all. I'll be surprised if Fitzy doesn't get a chance in the first team soon. Wouldn't be surprised to see a Motherwell front two of Smith and McHugh at some point.

I thought Bathgate were a decent side as well Finlay, they had a guy called Payne who I,m sure played with Aberdeen.

Yeah they do. IF there is a person to look to if you know anyone who thinks they're better than they are it's him. Had the chance to go onto a lot better things but preferred booze, drugs and girls more.

I thought he did. Keeper pulled off a great save to deny Fitzy scoring from a lob and he took his headed goal very well. Apart from that was solid in midfield. Should get his chance soon.

Was he playing defensive or attacking within the midfield?

Always thought he had the makings of a great defensive mid.

Well tartan I can't give him a run in the team at any position but if I was in charge of team selection I would have Saunders or Hateley in that role before him. Just my opinion mind. Should we read more into it that Brown is looking at him in another position when we are so short of players for the position he specialises in? Maybe. Maybe not. Time will tell how he fits into the team.

Motherwell, Fitzy played in a more attacking role today but certainly covered the park. Whether it was down to his experience I'm not sure but he looked confident and composed.

Fitzy, Hutch, Page all played well today. Don`t get why CB don`t try Page at RB, looks good at getting forward, with decent delivery. Seen him at Ayr aswell, n thats both games he has played at LB, when RB would surely be a more natural position for him?

Smith took his 2 goals well, and could easily have had 4. Him n Mchugh look good partnership up top. Good 2 see Fitzy staking a claim today, made a few good runs, was unlucky from a wee dinked volley 1st half.

Pollock looks to have a great touch and awareness about him, 1 to keep an eye on.

Humph aint a RB, but thought he did well 2nd half, put a few good crosses in, set up the 2nd goal.

Decent wee run out, on an immaculate playing surface!
